Notes from the arena champ.
Asp is an anglicized form of aspis, a name used in classical antiquity for a venomous
snake, probably the Egyptian cobra. It was the symbol of royalty in Egypt, and its
bite was used for the execution of favored criminals in Greco-Roman times. Cleopatra
is said to have killed herself with an asp. (Silly woman!) Adult aspic vipers may
reach 20 inches in total length, although most are smaller. They live in a variety of
habitats ranging from sea level to high-altitude environments such as in the Swiss
Alps. These vicious animals prey on small vertebrates and give birth to a litter of 5-
16 young.
They also make wonderful Duelmasters because they help rid the arenas of vertebrates
such as Air Travel and Audacious warriors.

SPY REPORT
Good day, in NOBLISH ISLAND a quiet thief gets rich, but a quiet spymaster gets
poor. So bring me ale and harken to my tidbits of news. And let's see, PYTHON
fought DEALY and gained 14 points and contributed to SNAKE IN THE GRASS' 3-2-0.
DEALY has lost to PYTHON, falling 8 points, while helping make BB AIR TRAVEL 2 a
3-2-0 turn. Our last turn's Duelmaster has lost, folks, lost to KUNG-FU MASTER, and
ASP has made the way for a new Duelmaster! With ASP clearing the throne, CRIMSON
SCOURGE of LIGHTNING ROD takes a proud seat as NOBLISH ISLAND's new Duelmaster, by
virtue of recognition points. Can someone confirm a rumor for me? I hear the top
team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The Swinging Aardvark until they win.
Maybe?
He who challenges well, fights well. He who avoids without cause, shall lose
for good reasons. My mama told me that one. I also notice that the BB AIR TRAVEL 2
stable was the most avoided team this turn. Come on NOBLISH ISLAND, what are you
afraid of? And avoiding BB AIR TRAVEL 2 more than any other team we find BB AIR
TRAVEL 2. NOBLISH ISLAND, are we going to accept, or respect this sort of thing?
The most challenged warrior this turn was BB AIR TRAVEL 2's warrior DEALY. More
fighters challenged him than challenged the Duelmaster!
A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once. Wise men know this to
be true. Is it really true that NOBLISH ISLAND has more dishwashers per capita that
fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
I like this place, NOBLISH ISLAND, the taverns have old wine, and young serving
girls. Who could ask for more? Always good to rest in NOBLISH ISLAND, but never
good to wear out my welcome. Look for me in future turns. Until the sun next rises
and my pen sets to paper-- Alarond the Scribe
