TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Bash Bros Country
It's time to put on some good old Country Music. I know that brings to mind for
almost everyone a STEREOTYPE. And that is what my first warrior is named... This
warrior was given to me as 12-5-16-11-9-8-9. This warrior is clearly an offensive
type of warrior, with highest stat of size, lowest stat of con and everything else
kind of in the middle. Looking at the endurance, striker is the best choice
(actually, striker is often going to be the best choice, regardless, when you make a
pure offensive. They are just the best of the pure offensives). Adding 6 to wit and 2
to deftness leaves 6 points left. I add three to strength for endurance and the
attack skill there. Adding one or two more to strength would have hit two breakpoints
for damage, but I wanted an extra decise skill, so added two to speed. That leaves
one point. Will puts him mode at poor endurance and Strength remove the possibility
to get good damage. I chose the will and hoped for the best on the damage roll. How
to add those last 6 points? Many combinations of str/wil/spd/dft make sense. My
choices make this warrior's stats come out at 15-5-16-17-10-10-11.
Next up... 9-12-9-10-13-5-12. The numbers themselves look pretty even across the
board, but these are the warriors you will come to love and hate... To this day, the
arguments on how to design guys like this continue. Lots of options and lots of ways
to go. To start, don't add speed to guys like this. As you play longer, you'll find
speed is a less important stat and you'll love the guys who start low. I'm going to
start with 17 will on this one and because his endurance is strong, all styles are
available. So I'm looking at LU/TP/WS as the stronger styles. (Nothing wrong with
going another style, but all styles are NOT equal). Because I'm going to have two
more TP's, I'm going LU. Next points go to have the LO well suited. 11 str and 13
wit. 5 points left. A point for the skills at 13 deftness and that leaves me with 4
points. Lots of choices to go with these last 4 points. Wit or deftness gives a
bunch of skills. In general I prefer physicals, so I'm going to add all four to str
and con. I chose to add most of them to con and one point to str. This is such a
generic setup, that I have to name him PICKUP TRUCK, because it seems like so many
songs feature those and so many warriors feature stats like 12-15-9-13-17-5-13.
The next two warriors are big 'uns. 4-7-19-8-10-12-10 and 5-14-18-9-12-4-8. The first
of these is an inferior version of the first warrior (with the majority of the
inferiority having to do with the wit). I choose to give him the same striker
treatment. I add 5 to wit, 1 to deftness. At this point I add 5 points to strength
to get scimitar or shortspear well suited. I add two more points to deftness for an
extra attack skills and the final point goes to will for endurance. That leaves me
with a 9-7-19-13-11-12-13 striker. He almost certainly has a DRAWL, right?
The 18 size guy is problematic. The strength and speed and size do not cooperate well
at all. On most teams, I'd DA this guy without looking at his overview. He is truly
LAME (like so many songs of all genres, let alone country). Here is where we're
supposed to train you new/returning players. I'm going to give him the total parry
scum treatment. And because I've had some limited success, I choose to go the 7
strength route. 7 strength, 17 will, and 11 deftness leaves 4 points. I add all four
to constitution and end with a scum that will plate up in spite of his carry ability
with stats of 7-18-18-9-17-4-11.
My final warrior comes as 13-13-14-3-13-7-7. Now this is a total parry scum meant to
be! The super low wit and low speed and high physicals is just begging to be a scum.
I add points to get 15-17-14-3-17-7-11. Most of his opponents will be DRINKING after
the fight. Avoid those AB's!!!

Sweet, sweet 10-0!!!
We'll see if Assur loves me enough to send me to an initiates tourney before he runs
me to graduation... I'm learning 2.4 skills per fight, which is very strong,
especially for 17 wit. And I'm learning those skills in the right place.
Can I compete in a tourney?!? That is another story. Tourneys are very tough. But a
strong argument can be made that I've got what it takes...

Good day, friends and fiends, welcome to your friendly neighborhood spyreport.
I doubt NOBLISH ISLAND will ever be the same. It seems the training can make the
difference, as BB CONSTRUCTION is pushed out of top team by COLORITES, who came from
3rd with a 2-3-1 this turn. On their very first turn, BASH BROS COUNTRY had a 4-1-0,
and with this kind of luck or skill, should do well. Welcome to NOBLISH ISLAND. And
let's see, HERBIE HANBARK fought DAME JEDI and gained 14 points and contributed to
FRESH MEAT's 3-2-1. DAME JEDI has lost to HERBIE HANBARK, falling 11 points, while
helping make UBER ACES a 4-1-0 turn. And not without some honor, WILD BOAR BIN now
claims the title and throne of Duelmaster of NOBLISH ISLAND. Can someone confirm a
rumor for me? I hear the top team makes their losing fighters do dishes at The Warty
Toad until they win. Maybe?
I tell you, a green quarterstaff lasts longer than a seasoned sapling. A basher
friend of mine assures me this is true.
A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man only once. Wise men know this to
be true. Is it really true that NOBLISH ISLAND has more dishwashers per capita that
fighters? Just thought I'd ask...
Thought for the day, a new sword shines bright, but the notched sword sings the
sweetest. Always good to rest in NOBLISH ISLAND, but never good to wear out my
