Much has changed in HOME GUARD since last I was here. And if you believe that,
there's a bridge I'd like to sell you. Oh, well, Olaf Modeen adapts to many
situations, as do all successful fighters. (Note, I am a successful fighter. Me
being dead is from another situation entirely.) What's with CREDIT LINE? He
actually beat SIR AGLIO's SIR VILE, and walked away with 44 more points from the
fight. Major screwup at SIR AGLIO. SIR VILE lost 42 points to CREDIT LINE. (Those
extra two points indicate some inflation at work here. Everyone beat on Credit Line
till he tosses 'em back into the kitty.) Some new strategies, perhaps? (As if!)
Maybe SIR VILE will provide more easy wins... FOUNTAINS OF WAYNE was reminded on the
sands why JAKUCHU ITO is Duelmaster. I suppose you want to hear some rumors and
dirty gossip about your fellow fighters? Tough! You want rumors and dirty gossip,
you have to meet me at the Bash N Glug and buy me a beer. They aren't free.
If at first you don't succeed, avoid. That'll get you in the spy reports. HOME
GUARD thinks ROYAL FLUSH and their 216-262-3 is too much! If at first you don't
succeed, give up... Management must be dealin', as the boys at JOKA MASHER! ain't
reelin'! ROYAL FLUSH's mad! (This is all in the script, but it doesn't make much
sense. Why not just say: Joka Masher! didn't feel like fighting Royal Flush today?)
What do people see in BUDDERCUP? His 40-35-0? BUMS 'R' US ain't talkin', but he's
got 172 points. And so?
Fighting is a better craft than farming, TIME SQUARE, but you have to pay your
dues. (Actually, they're both equally risky ways to make a living, but unless you
make a habit of parking your tractor on a steep hill, farming is less dangerous.)
Being challenged by 50 SUCKS, 85 points above you, is dues. The due falls from
heaven like a gentle rain, or something. 50 SUCKS bested TIME SQUARE. I bet 50
SUCKS could beat two-year-olds, too. But not three-year-olds. Three-year-olds are
tough. Well, BIG APPLE MENACE knows who to set their sights on. Keep challenging up
28 points, CADDY JACKKNIFE, and I won't have to write about you much longer. Why is
that? You'll be kicked out to Talahya? KAIDEN always accepts those kind of
challenges... (Kaiden has no choice.) CADDY JACKKNIFE did pretty good this week in
beating KAIDEN to get 21 points. Why did KAIDEN lose, you ask? Simple: she wasn't
good enough. Or maybe she was crossed in love. Or had a bad egg with her breakfast.
Who knows? EVIL ELMO of TWISTED SESAME knows how to pick 'em. It challenged PUTZ'N
ALONG of JOKA MASHER! who is up by 23. Now was this a wise move? EVIL ELMO perhaps
got its just desserts, seeing as it was defeated by PUTZ'N ALONG and ended up with 63
recognition points.
There have been some calls to lengthen the time limit. WHAT time limit? Do you
want the fighters to walk away, or not? Many a warrior has met his fate in a
hungover stupor. You young rapscallions, take note! Never go on blind dates while
in a hungover stupor.
Well, I'm pretty much through. You guys need to get back practicing. HOME
GUARD is a nice place to live, but I don't like to live in nice places. I don't want
to overstay my welcome... (Actually, that isn't an issue. You can't throw me out,
because I'm the Spy Reporter here.)
The fights: Thirty in number. Seven challenge matches, one of the TV. No
deaths. The title match was random. In fact, some days I get the feeling that the
whole arena is random. Three standbys fought today, but no MIMES.
SIR PENT (10-5089) (20-15-1,74) of SIR AGLIO fought LAKE SAILOR (101-2) (0-0-
0,30) of Local Louts. SIR PENT was overpowered by LAKE SAILOR in a 1 minute one-
sided bout. The Lak Sailors are used to dealing with serpents. The lake's full of
'em.
PINK BEAR (36-5883) (28-13-1,79) of LITTLE GIRLS LIKE... fought SIR INGOMYELIC
(10-5119) (21-14-1,78) of SIR AGLIO. PINK BEAR narrowly defeated SIR INGOMYELIC in a
popular 3 minute gory match. We call this "Welcome to the Isle."
BLACK EYE (60-6163) (22-14-0,78) of JOKA MASHER! fought SKI MASK (58-5869) (39-
66-0,74) of CIRQUE DU MASQUES. BLACK EYE vanquished SKI MASK in a 1 minute one-sided
fray. Does this mean Duck for Dinner?
CARRIE NATION (64-4054) (44-82-0,56) of REFORMERS fought KOOKABURRA (33-4151)
(52-74-2,74) of GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. CARRIE NATION was overpowered by KOOKABURRA in a
1 minute one-sided fight. Who'd a thought that a tough cookie like Carrie Nation
would succumb to the sugar-rush of a Kookaburra?
GUARDIAN (82-16527) (9-6-0,78) of RESSURRECTION fought GAR & BRILL (38-4252)
(26-40-0,57) of JUST BECAUSE. GUARDIAN overcame GAR & BRILL in a 2 minute duel. And
I sincerely hope that Guardian has insisted on Brill scouring off all that old
grease. Disgusting, I call it.
HEART (97-1096) (8-17-4,46) of ORGANS ON THE SAND fought PIYA (71-5625) (8-3-
0,75) of THAI INQUISITION. HEART overpowered PIYA in a 1 minute one-sided fray.
Obviously, once an Inquistor gets heart, he's doomed. Can't do the job, no way.
R IS FOR REPUGNANT (99-1155) (11-6-4,57) of GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME fought MAN O' WAR
(15-4517) (24-15-1,76) of TRIPLE CROWN. R IS FOR REPUGNANT was viciously subdued by
MAN O' WAR in a 2 minute bout. Ad a great victory for the horse it was, too,
overcoming that loaded id number!
MORADOR (2-5089) (32-12-1,100) of RESURRECTION fought QUIETUS (10-5165) (22-9-
1,92) of QUBIT. MORADOR was defeated by QUIETUS in a 2 minute match. Now, Morador
is quiet. Although not terminally quiet.
RYRELEE (59-478) (21-13-0,102) of HARE CONTROL fought NINJA FERD (101-30) (0-0-
0,130) of Local Louts. RYRELEE was overpowered by NINJA FERD in a popular 3 minute
uneven fight. Another new arrival in Home Guard, or newly reactivated, don't know
which. This is by way of saying, "Hi."
THATDOGWILLBITEU (42-1981) (23-29-1,132) of SAUSAGE DOGS fought NINJA FERD (101-
30) (0-0-0,130) of Local Louts. THATDOGWILLBITEU was subdued by NINJA FERD in a
popular 3 minute gruesome fight. Was Ninja Ferd hot today, or what?
QUONSET (10-4990) (32-23-0,121) of QUBIT fought MARY ANN (47-4378) (16-26-0,108)
of SCREEN DREAMS. QUONSET was handily defeated by MARY ANN in a crowd pleasing 1
minute uneven duel. It was the pink roses on the wallpaper that did it.
BRICK (20-389) (39-40-0,138) of THE BLUES fought RUTHLESS (15-4591) (20-6-0,130)
of TRIPLE CROWN. BRICK defeated RUTHLESS in an exciting 5 minute gory duel. Ooooh,
no throwing bricks onto the racetrack!
SPAZZ (33-6207) (47-42-0,163) of SNOTZI'S II fought BEER GOGGLES (33-6819) (30-
35-1,132) of JOYS OF BOOZE. SPAZZ was overpowered by BEER GOGGLES in a 1 minute
mismatched conflict. Does this mean that Spazz now knows the joys of booze? Should
he bar the door against Carrie Nation?
SIR NASTY ONE (38-2787) (25-36-1,174) of DU BASHERS fought DITCH RAT (82-15360)
(27-29-3,110) of VERMIN! SIR NASTY ONE was demolished by DITCH RAT in an exciting 1
minute one-sided bout. They do say that Rats Will Rule. And there are days when I
can believe it.
SIR VILE (10-4754) (32-30-1,176) of SIR AGLIO fought CREDIT LINE (82-1366) (3-
18-0,113) of WOMEN LOVE ME FOR MY. SIR VILE was devastated by CREDIT LINE in an
exciting 1 minute one-sided brawl. The very IDEA of a credit line is inflationary,
when you think about it. Always pay cash.
ISHINOMORI (7-5390) (32-11-1,151) of NINJAS fought MASHER (60-4553) (49-46-
3,143) of JOKA MASHER! ISHINOMORI handily defeated MASHER in a 1 minute mismatched
bout. One Masher mashed.
ELENA (63-2356) (20-6-0,162) of SITTIN' ON ACES fought SPUTTER (82-15095) (35-
20-1,149) of JOKA MASHER. ELENA was vanquished by SPUTTER in an action packed 1
minute mismatched bout. Elena shouldn't have been SITTING on her ace, she should
have stabbed Sputter with it! An ace is really a sword, you know. Er, an ace of
spades is, and surely that's the kind she had.
HALLIE O'DENE (58-6018) (54-70-0,170) of CIRQUE DU MASQUES fought W.T. POOH (33-
4430) (71-54-0,163) of SNOTZI'S II. HALLIE O'DENE was savagely defeated by W.T. POOH
in a 5 minute conflict. The ignominy, to be savagely defeated by a Bear of Little
Brain! Nothing but fluff between the ears....
SATOSHI KUNO (7-5229) (27-21-0,173) of NINJAS fought FEAR (82-10416) (22-35-
1,120) of 4-LETTER ANXIETY. SATOSHI KUNO devastated FEAR in a 2 minute bloody one-
sided battle. Does this mean that Satoshi is Fear-less?
TICKLES (9-3486) (50-68-1,207) of MY PETS fought BIG COUNTRY (38-2765) (40-27-
3,175) of DU BASHERS. TICKLES was narrowly defeated by BIG COUNTRY in a crowd
pleasing 3 minute match. I have no idea why this pleased the crowd. Fickle things,
crowds. Bloodthirsty, too.
AERYN SUN (10-4268) (29-12-0,228) of FARSCAPE fought TUM (18-7380) (32-18-2,194)
of FROM THE FACE. AERYN SUN was overpowered by TUM in a popular 1 minute one-sided
melee. I sometimes wonder, in a vague sort of way, what kind of tummy you get from a
face.
DELICE THE RED (56-3401) (55-56-2,217) of BAD APPLES fought IPECAC (45-3625)
(29-18-0,189) of EMETICS. DELICE THE RED was vanquished by IPECAC in a 1 minute one-
sided fight. Ah, and I believe Delice may have spoken eloquently, or at least may
have spoken, about how superior she was to Ipecac. Now we see.

5064) (23-7-1,92) of VERMIN. Up 4. PRIZMATYK WAHL was handily defeated by 2 PHAT in

feet. That means that the Wahl has no feet, yes?

4756) (27-50-0,72) of QUBIT. Up 9. VALLISNERIA beat QUIBBLE in a crowd pleasing 1
minute gory Challenge brawl. Vall quickly quieted Quibble.
CADDY JACKKNIFE (11-4288) (23-11-0,131) of GERFEL'S FRIENDS challenged KAIDEN
(35-3108) (89-87-2,159) of VIOLENT FEMS. CADDY JACKKNIFE unbelievably bested KAIDEN
in a popular 4 minute Challenge duel. What's not to believe? We saw it happen.

DIRT WORM (82-2315) (69-38-0,180) of VERMIN!! challenged MOD COD (55-2638) (56-
83-2,178) of RHYME TYME. Down 2. At least, I think that's what it says here. I
can't seem to focus this evening. DIRT WORM was savagely defeated by MOD COD in an
exciting 3 minute Challenge fight. So much for using dirt worms as bait for cods. I
guess.
NED THE JANITOR (66-2973) (25-27-0,166) of ANDORIAN UNIVERSITY challenged
BUDDERCUP (60-5967) (40-34-0,186) of BUMS 'R' US. Up 20. NED THE JANITOR defeated
BUDDERCUP in a crowd pleasing 2 minute bloody Challenge duel. It's the push-broom.

4637) (35-14-0,201) of BIG APPLE MENACE. Down 85. I think. Good thing this is the
next to the last fight, because things are getting really blurred here. 50 SUCKS
vanquished TIME SQUARE in an exciting 1 minute uneven Challenge battle. Okay, next

Youngblood's Three and Out Contest
I would like to take this time to announce and invite all managers to compete in what
I think will be an awesome contest. If you haven't ever TC'd at a tourney before,
here is your chance. The contest will start Wednesday, December 1, 2004, but a
chance will be given November 17 to dark arena, only, any warrior that you do not see
fit to run in the contest. So now that I have your attention, here are the rules
(like you didn't know they were coming sooner or later).
1. Any manager participating can enter one team, only.
2. No sandbagging whatsoever. (I will keep up with it, every turn.)
3. No teams or warriors will be allowed to run after contest starts.
4. All warriors will run until they lose three times, after three losses they are
eliminated.
5. If a warrior sits out a turn, they are accounted with a loss in the contest.
This is to keep warriors with winning records from sitting out until the end of
the contest.
6. If a warrior is killed during the contest, the replacement cannot enter the
contest.
7. If a warrior is killed, bloodfeuding is allowed, but only by a warrior that is
active in the contest.
8. If a warrior is run after being eliminated, the manager is disqualified from the
contest, no questions asked.
9. Challenges are legal, up or down.
10. Contest will keep going until 1 warrior is left without three losses, and that
warrior, of course, is accounted the winner.
11. All managers participating will be asked to purchase a rollup certificate, to be
awarded to the winners of the contest.

As I have already said, and according to participation, rollups will be awarded
to the first and second place managers. So the majority and minority of the rollups
will be determined when all are accumulated.

Hammer 500-Hammer Run for the Roll Ups
Hosted by Hammer
Niytyole Island DM 33 has dwindled to the point where as of T-482 [duedate
November 3, 2004] there were only 2 active stables listed with 3 inactive stables in
a once thriving and lively regular arena.
During the past 40+ cycles Hammer has been hosting the Hammer Run for the Roll
Ups in DM 33.
Thus far only the Ripper and Slasher categories have produced winners to claim
the 5 New Team Roll Ups Prize for being the first declared Style Master of their
respective categories to graduate.
Every contending stable has gone inactive for one reason or another, including
CASINO HAMMERZ, over the past several months.
Now DM 33 faces the harsh reality that if RSI chooses to close any arenas due to
little or no interest, Niytyole Island could very well head the list of endangered
regular arenas!
In an effort to preserve his beloved island, Hammer is announcing the
continuation of the Hammer Run for the Roll Ups; combined with the Hammer 500 which
will conclude both contests on T-500 [duedate July 13, 2005] should DM 33 continue to
remain open in the coming months.

Declared in the P-ads On or Before their First DM 33 Basic Arena Fight to Qualify as
