Reflections by the Captain of the Guard
Home Guard;
I am realizing that being Captain of the Guard is a tedious and boring task except
for the bi-weekly duels. Nobody is dumb enough to attack the isle, and there are no
chaos creatures running around to slay. Besides, with Primus warriors actually
running around the isle, do they really need the 'Guard'? They certainly aren't in
the Gates any more. Regardless, I enjoy the honor of being at the top of this arena.
Thank you.
To Mod Cod, you were the most wicked and devastating of all my opponents to date
since coming to the isle. I only learned how bold of a challenge it was on my part
when I was laying on the sand being pounded by you. Luckily for me, I got a breather
and recovered to your loss. Excellent battle, well done. My next challenge will be
to Redemption. That one is for Keel Woodhaven. He wanted to see whether a Wall of
Steel or a Striker has bigger cajones. We shall find out.
For a point of trivia, Tankesh named the dog 'Spot' because of the intense black eye
the poor beast received from being kicked in the face by the uncouth boys attacking
the 'girl next door'. I told Tankesh to sharpen the dog's teeth and name him Fang
for the next time he gets into a scuffle with some ruffians.

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Hey guys,
Alarond the Scribe sent in a question. He says: "Is it really true that HOME
GUARD has more dishwashers per capita than fighters?" Now at first glance that seems
like a pretty stupid question. But think about it. Do housewives count, or does a
dishwasher mean somebody that only washes dishes for a living, and no other chores?
And for that matter, how do we define a fighter? Once again, do housewives count if
they slap their husbands around sometimes? Do their husbands count? Do TP scums
count? What about Wall of Steel scums? It starts to appear that Alarond has asked a
very deep question. Yeah, he's still an idiot. But a deep one. And here's another
wrinkle on the whole question. He says he heard that the Tuft Tuggers make their
losing fighters do dishes at the Bash & Glug. So those would count as both. Let's
see how many Tuft Tuggers spent the evening in the kitchen.

The members of the Vendetta Cartel can be found in 1, 8, 9, 10, 11, 14, 22, 25, 28,
31, 39, 45, 47, 50, 52, 54, 59, 60, 100, and 106. Stop yapping in the all-arena ads,
pick an arena, issue a challenge, actually win something, and then maybe (and we
stress maybe) you may speak. You may come to our home arenas (8, 31, and 47) and
confront us, but we suggest you learn to win in your own "home" arena (52) first.
