Sorry for the delay, I had to get my hair cut. NOT my idea, what do I need with
haircuts? I'm dead. But people were insistent. It was easier to do it than keep
arguing.
So, the fights. Significant point movements: Pires up 37, Slap Yourself Silly
down 31. Same fight.
Most avoided, Asian Invasion. By Trekkers. At least, that's what the clerks
say. Most challenged, Hoffa, though I don't know which one.
Hot flash, there are more dishwashers per capita (which I presume means per the
capita of the entire city's population) than fighters. Works for me. Clean dishes
are important.
Twenty-six fights, four challenges, three standbys.
HOFFA (18-9369) (33-95-0,42) of ARROGANCE fought TICKLE ME TIGER (11-7391) (19-
13-2,55) of FURRY FURY. HOFFA was handily defeated by TICKLE ME TIGER in an exciting
1 minute uneven bout. Obviously not the Most Challenged Hoffa. Hoffas are like
fruit flies, always more of them around than you think.
THE DARK FROG (35-4347) (17-6-2,62) of BATTLE FROGS fought HAMILCAR (21-7575)
(16-11-2,57) of BLOOD AND SAND. THE DARK FROG demolished HAMILCAR in a 1 minute
gruesome one-sided melee. I'm beginning to worry about this creeping invasion of
frogs. There are even more of them than there are Hoffas!
INNARD SKINARD (98-3573) (10-6-4,60) of T-3 fought MONTY BURNS (82-55805) (19-
29-0,67) of NUCLEAR WASTES. INNARD SKINARD was overpowered by MONTY BURNS in a
popular 1 minute gory uneven fight. I've had burning innards now and then. Not fun.
FROG FRACTURE (98-3813) (12-5-3,32) of MURDEROUS FROGS 3 fought URA GONER (8-
5214) (11-2-0,74) of YOU PAY I SLAY. FROG FRACTURE was overpowered by URA GONER in a

0,57) of RED FURY. DAEMYN devastated ARDSHEAL in a 1 minute one-sided bout. It's
all that wrath. Potent stuff, wrath.

(35-4309) (15-9-0,54) of BATTLE FROGS. ARTHUR DENT handily defeated FURIOUS
FROGPALER in a 1 minute uneven duel. He paled the frog, in fact.

(16-14-2,64) of FURRY FURY. WELL DON overpowered CAT N TONIC in a popular 1 minute
one-sided duel. Quite right. Tonic is better with gin than with cat.

handicapper could come up with closer matches, wouldn't you? But this wasn't one-

There was a line outside the Gladiatorial Commission's registry office. There
often was, but surely not now? Alarond the Scribe, who had drawn office duty today,
frowned at them.
A stocky, fit, moderately handsome gladiator stepped up to the counter. "I want a
name-change," he said. "How can I do my best known as," he shuddered, "'Dangling
Eyeball'? My name is Joe, and I want to use it."
A small and very shapely woman stepped up beside him. "And I am really tired of
being known as 'DA Bait'." She smiled, causing Alarond to sway where he stood. "I'd
like to be known as... Aphrodite, I think."
The others crowded forward, each advancing a claim, the babble of voice rising to
a roar, the crowd beginning to look like a mob--and every member of it armed and
dangerous.
Alarond raised his hands to quiet them, without much success. He raised his
voice, too. "We'll do it! A Name-Change-O-Rama, as soon as we can get the paperwork
lined up! Two or three months, maybe--"
The gladiators howled in protest at the delay.
"No, listen! The files here are HUGE, it will take time to get everything
straight. You've got to be patient. It WILL happen!"
