Hail, Free Blades,
Well, another turn and a tourney under my belt. Both went fairly well. I am
still here and I was able to go 4-3 in Contenders! That was amazing! Well, not as
amazing as Blackmyth...way down in Grand Inits going 9-3!!! Congrats, man! Hope
that turn out gets you back up where you belong with recognition! Fut Cough, you
were way over your head in that fight. Dr Scum, you get my TV challenge this turn as
the top recognition warrior in the arena. Wow, a 241 point upchallenge from the
throne!

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
It's the new year, but we already, you know, had that. Last time. It's still
the same new year, is what I mean, only some more of it. For a long time, too. I
suppose after a while it'll be an OLD year.
And we had the tourney, which was totally like a tourney, and some people got
tvs, which is good, better than radio because of pictures and, you know, color.
Congratulations and stuff like that.
And now we've got the same old fight stuff. Don't you ever think you'd rather
do something else sometimes? I mean, there's tanning.
Well, anyway, Demons of Darkness were avoided by Blackened Pride, wihc is a
surprise because I have this feeling that it's usually the other way around, unless
I'm remembering it wrong, which I might be. I mean, I didn't, you know, study or
anything. And Shea Mageborn was most challenged. But she got her own challenge
instead. Things work out like that sometimes.
We had forty fights, with four standbys, which is a lot of warriors active here
and very good, because SHE likes it when we have a lot of warriors fighting. SHE
likes it gory and stuff. Gruesome. You know. Fourteen challenges. No deaths. And
the longest fight was seven minutes, which gets, maybe, tortoise-shell buttons or
something.
And here ARE the fights, right here.
SUE (22-5828) (20-20-0,65) of WOMEN OF REALITY fought ROSELLA (103-39) (26-25-
0,100) of Visiting Poets. SUE demolished ROSELLA in a 1 minute uneven conflict.
Rosella does what they call blank verse, which means it doesn't have to rhyme or
anything and is LOTS easier. But that's why the fight was uneven, because of not
rhyming. In case you wanted to know.
SANDY (22-5829) (25-17-1,89) of WOMEN OF REALITY fought BITTER ALMOND (103-41)
(14-16-4,50) of Visiting Poets. SANDY vanquished BITTER ALMOND in a 1 minute
mismatched duel. And Bitter Almond does what they call hypogryffs, which I didn't
think was a kind of poem at all, but what do I know? I mean, it isn't like anyone
really CARES on the beach.
MORGAN (22-5915) (17-15-1,67) of WOMEN OF REALITY fought LUCIFREYJA (103-40)
(19-21-1,90) of Visiting Poets. MORGAN was overpowered by LUCIFREYJA in a 2 minute
one-sided fight. I don't know about this one. It says here in the notes that
Lucifreyja does purple prose, and I thought Morgan would, you know, LIKE that, on
account of purple being her favorite color.
NASTY NITTERS (63-2383) (17-23-2,54) of TOMATO ENFORCER fought THE SICKNESS (21-
5327) (15-7-1,46) of BLACKEST PRIDE. NASTY NITTERS was viciously subdued by THE
SICKNESS in a 1 minute match. The maintenance people were very, very unhappy about
this, and I'm not surprised. I mean, Nasty, who really IS nasty, you know, got sick
all over and it took a long time to get it all cleaned up. It isn't like other
people wanted to have to walk on it, and what about burying people in the sand?
SHADOW HAWK (71-3038) (15-29-2,52) of 2ND ARCTIC GUARDS fought SABRETOOTH (54-
2269) (20-13-2,72) of RUNNING AMOK. SHADOW HAWK overpowered SABRETOOTH in a 1 minute
one-sided duel. I didn't know hawks could do that. I mean, tigers have such big
teeth!
CENTURION (71-3432) (19-16-1,74) of 2ND ARCTIC GUARDS fought SCHIZOPHRENIC (9-
4595) (15-7-1,53) of DSM4. CENTURION viciously subdued SCHIZOPHRENIC in an action
packed 2 minute gory match. I don't understand this note, either. Who writes these
things? It says Centurion has a hundred men, but there weren't any hundred men out
there in the arena. As if!
BEER (71-3539) (20-26-0,69) of STUFF I BROUGHT fought AGRO (29-4314) (25-34-
1,80) of CROC FILES. BEER was overpowered by AGRO in a 1 minute one-sided match.
Gladiators always overpower beer, except when beer overpowers them. And sometimes
both ways. You know, both being overpowered. That's because of no umbrellas in the
drinks.
JOELEAN (97-903) (17-16-4,96) of IVER'S GIRLS fought CONE SHELL (24-4422) (15-6-
1,52) of AUSSIE KILLERS. JOELEAN bested CONE SHELL in an action packed 4 minute
bout. Joelean had a golf club, is that allowed? And was it the right KIND of golf
club? I mean, there must be a special one for cone shells, right? They were talking
about this back in Zorpunt.
OURS ROUGE (3-6049) (21-25-1,140) of THE REDBAERS fought TESEN (12-4211) (39-42-
1,146) of DEMONS OF DARKNESS. OURS ROUGE savagely defeated TESEN in an exciting 2
minute brutal struggle. Well, that's something. I mean, now Tesen KNOWS not to take
up bear wrestling. Not that I could see any point in bare wrestling anyway. How can
anyone bear it?
VENRIC (60-5709) (26-23-0,133) of DEMONS OF DARKNESS 2 fought REDFOX (13-4197)
(45-64-0,128) of CARDOW HUNTERS. VENRIC was handily defeated by REDFOX in an action
packed 1 minute mismatched match. This is, you know, totally amazing. Redfox won!
I thought there was a rule against that.
CRYPT KEEPER (15-4146) (36-25-1,162) of GRAVEYARD GLORY fought SUPERIOR FORCES
(33-4543) (59-91-2,124) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. CRYPT KEEPER defeated SUPERIOR
FORCES in an exciting 1 minute gory bout. Well, you know, he can just KEEP his old
crypt. Nobody else wants it. Why make a, you know, big deal out of it?
KELOS (55-30) (56-83-3,167) of ROCANIS RIDERS fought MADBULL (13-4198) (51-86-
1,156) of CARDOW HUNTERS. KELOS was overpowered by MADBULL in a popular 1 minute
one-sided match. It's the funny hat. Madbull hates funny hats. Even I know that!
TRYURLUCK (61-1029) (52-47-1,197) of BLOOD KNIGHTS fought NIGHTIE KNIGHT (12-
4731) (44-33-1,176) of LOBOTOMATION. TRYURLUCK overpowered NIGHTIE KNIGHT in an
action packed 1 minute one-sided fight. Um, I don't know if I can use the notes on
this one. It's, like, ris-que.
MOONRACER (50-3206) (37-36-1,190) of MISFIT TOYS fought HOUSE MOUSE (55-221)
(110-176-2,176) of RHYME TYME. MOONRACER was handily defeated by HOUSE MOUSE in a 1
minute mismatched bout. What I want to know is, why doesn't Moonracer fit? I mean,
it says right here, "misfit." Why? And, you know, what? Not fitting what?
CHAOS LICH (15-4132) (42-31-0,190) of GRAVEYARD GLORY fought BEAG MAGDA (12-
4380) (46-29-2,210) of DARKMOON. CHAOS LICH vanquished BEAG MAGDA in a 1 minute one-
sided fray. You would think that Darkmoon warriors would do, like, totally well
right now, because of the moon being dark. Wouldn't you? I mean, there must be
reasons for some of this stuff, right?
KOOSH BALL (71-3536) (39-30-0,202) of STUFF I BROUGHT fought SMUG BUG (55-2900)
(39-63-0,192) of RHYME TYME. KOOSH BALL won victory over SMUG BUG in a 2 minute
bout. Smug never works. As if! Everyone knows that. Smug always means trouble.
LUCIFER (22-5393) (23-19-0,197) of THE HELL HOUNDS fought PARANOIA (9-4557) (19-
5-1,210) of DSM4. LUCIFER was vanquished by PARANOIA in an exciting 1 minute one-
sided fight. Naturally. I mean, Lucifer was out to GET him, so what else could
Paranoia do?
DARK OMEGA (21-4983) (44-49-0,343) of LORDS OF SHADOWS fought MOONJUMPER (16-
3062) (60-92-1,200) of PUNNY AMINALS. DARK OMEGA lost to MOONJUMPER in a popular 1
minute match. I think the handicapper must be, like, not using the umbrella in his
drinks, you know? I mean, it shows.
DESECRATION (21-4392) (30-14-2,231) of BLACKEST PRIDE fought XERXES (67-2429)
(46-39-2,185) of MISSION IMPLAUSIBLE. DESECRATION devastated XERXES in a popular 2
minute gory one-sided bout. Or you could say, you know, that devastation Desecrated
Xerxes. Whatever. But it serves him right. Nobody should have two eckses. As if!
It's too much.
FRAIL WHALE (55-1968) (104-156-3,218) of RHYME TYME fought ROBIN OF SHEW-WOOD
(103-33) (1-0-1,220) of Visiting Poets. FRAIL WHALE overpowered ROBIN OF SHEW-WOOD
in a 2 minute gruesome uneven fray. This is totally good because of Robin doing dumb
limericks. Nobody needs dumb limericks. It's just totally like a Shew. Or maybe a
Sandal. Did you hear about the Sandals? They're barbarians and they come migrating
and ravaging. There are others, but the Sandals are the worst because of destroying
everything.
FUNNY BUNNY (55-1862) (86-121-1,212) of RHYME TYME fought TEMPEST (4-4503) (28-
19-1,186) of STORM FRONT. FUNNY BUNNY was savagely defeated by TEMPEST in an action
packed 2 minute brutal fight. I didn't think that was funny. I mean, it says right
here: brutal. Who could be brutal to a bunny? That is so totally cruel! Because
bunnys are, you know, soft and furry and cuddly.
NEBUCHADNEZZER (15-4097) (43-31-0,248) of GRAVEYARD GLORY fought WOUNDWORT (12-
4228) (48-35-0,193) of DARKMOON. NEBUCHADNEZZER was overcome by WOUNDWORT in a crowd
pleasing 1 minute competition. Do we still have two Nebus, or do we, you know, just
have one now? I only see one, but sometimes that's just, like, ellison. You know.

E.A.POLECAT (15-2644) (55-29-4,541) of DRAKE'S BAR-B-Q fought JULIUS (64-3641)
(69-79-2,190) of UNDER DURESS. E.A.POLECAT overpowered JULIUS in a popular 1 minute
one-sided bout. How can someone have 541 recognition? I didn't think the scribes
could even count that high! Or else there was some kind of rule against it. I
forget which. But this is, like, totally hypergolic.
DR. SCUM (15-1968) (55-48-2,544) of DRAKE'S BAR-B-Q fought LUMP O'GORE (13-1212)
(91-83-5,186) of ILLFANG PACT. DR. SCUM bested LUMP O'GORE in an exciting 2 minute
brutal fight. It's because of the Gate monsters, isn't it? Either that, or Drake
got the franchise thing for the arena, you know, the barbecue booth.
BLADE RUNNER # (33-4544) (89-61-4,233) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY fought KREWKUT
SAUSAGE (65-6327) (13-22-0,210) of LINCOLNSHIRE. BLADE RUNNER # was handily defeated
by KREWKUT SAUSAGE in a 1 minute mismatched bout. But it doesn't say here, on the
label, you know, where it gives calories and fat and stuff, what kind of sausage is
krewkut. I mean, is it beef or pork or, like, turkey? I want to know!
Oh, the challenge matches! I didn't realize we'd got this far already. Okay.
TEXAS GLITTER (35-3509) (23-8-0,84) of EXACTLY! challenged RAVEN (71-3435) (20-
24-0,90) of 2ND ARCTIC GUARDS. Up 6. TEXAS GLITTER was defeated by RAVEN in a 2
minute Challenge duel. Well, um, Texas glitter must be very BIG, and, you know,
really shiny, and ravens like shiny things....
GOLDIE (29-4395) (14-15-1,48) of CROC FILES challenged WEDNESDAY (16-5254) (14-
8-2,60) of THE DARK TIDES. Up 12. GOLDIE devastated WEDNESDAY in a 1 minute bloody
mismatched Challenge bout. But it's Thursday! Somebody needs to check their
calendar.
BLACKMYTH (11-4018) (61-37-1,89) of SHADOWS challenged LOPING WOLF (56-1796)
(56-97-0,99) of REDHORSE. Up 10. BLACKMYTH devastated LOPING WOLF in a 1 minute
one-sided Challenge battle. Broke his toes. I saw! So he can't lope. Lope is kind
of walking, right? With long steps.
PSYCHOSIS (9-4650) (13-3-1,100) of DSM4 challenged GRAHAM (29-4318) (30-26-
0,109) of CROC FILES. Up 9. PSYCHOSIS savagely defeated GRAHAM in a crowd pleasing
1 minute Challenge match. Some people have a THING about crocs. And boots or, you
know, handbags.
AVARICIOUS AVON (63-2388) (24-21-0,149) of TOMATO ENFORCER challenged TITAN (21-
5070) (35-26-1,172) of BLACKEST PRIDE. Up 23. AVARICIOUS AVON was overpowered by
TITAN in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge melee. Well, nobody ever said Titan was a
tomato!
SAMPSA (31-4233) (24-8-2,145) of SOL INVICTUS challenged NEBUCHADNEZZAR (22-
5821) (24-17-0,146) of BLADES OF WONDER. Up 1. SAMPSA was vanquished by

notes, but I'm going to find OUT--that Tyvin won by making a big deposit. In a bank.
But if the bank was rupt, I don't see how it would stay there. I mean, rupt means
broken open, right? So the deposit would fall out. I had a savings bank that rupted
once.

84-0,187) of SWEET MAGIC. Up 2. PANIC ATTACK was overpowered by RAVEN EYES in a 1
minute one-sided Challenge fight. Because of panic in the arena being bad, I guess.

Which this is the Lord Marshall fight, and it's random. Why didn't anybody

3380) (62-45-0,249) of REDHORSE. SETHRA LAVODE overpowered ROYLAND in a 1 minute
uneven Title struggle. This is so good, because of Royland being vicious and sneaky.

ZalCon2 Updates (1/9/04)
The contest will be starting on the turn due February 23rd, 2004 and run for 20
turns.
Only one team will be allowed for each manager in the contest, regardless of
whether additional teams are announced as contest entries. No exceptions for any
reason.
The Style Master points should read that there is +1 point for beating a member
of your own style even if the warrior is not registered for the contest.
Rolling points for consecutive turns as Style Master means that your warrior
gets the extra point every turn after the first 3 that he continues to hold the
title.
The points for Quality Wins should be clarified to read the winning warrior is
ranked below by the number of recognition points needed for each bonus point at the
start of the fight. For example, Warrior A (3-2-0, 17) beats Warrior B (4-1-0, 35)
and receives 2 bonus points under Quality Win for the 18 point difference in the
ranking.

CHAOTIC WINDS
Once, long ago, the four Winds of Time descended upon Alastari like a TEMPEST of
epic proportions, they slew everything within their all-encompassing reach. They
left nothing. In their wake lay smoldering ruins.
In their haste they sped towards the center of this great land like a colossal
giant would step across an ocean. The four storms picked up momentum on their way
towards each other. A collision was eminent.
The first storm wind, the oldest and wisest of the four was named APEXALUS. The
second, FLAGGSTAFF, was the quickest and loudest entity ever created. The third Wind
of Time was MATRIATIN, neither old or young, quick or slow, but fierce and feisty all
the same. The forth wind, ASSAMITHIUS, the youngest yet most creative in its means
of destruction.
When finally they merged at the center of ALASTARI, an incredible destructive
explosion occurred. And when the smoke and debris cleared they were one. CHAOS was
born.
And Chaos spread across the diminished lands reeking havoc and doom with its
passing, and destroying allover again that which already lay in ruin.
