It was, like, Zontani with his sharp eyes which look, you know, totally strange.
The points. Because they're sharp. I bet it hurts, too. Round is better. Besides,
he is so, you know, prying and nosy with is "inside sources" and his "deep con caves"
and stuff. Oh, well. He just gets to go on the endless paths of Alastari, which can
be, you know, a bit of the same old same old sometimes. But *I* get to go to Hawaii.
Sun and surf and sand, stuff like that. Which is why I won't be here NEXT time, but
the time AFTER that, I'll tell you all about it.
But right NOW, I'll tell you about today's fights, which isn't as much fun as
tropical beaches, but it's what we've got, right?
Zontani says Blackest Pride is the team to beat, which is not what he MEANS, you
know. Because Demons of Darkness isn't trying to beat them, they're trying not to
fight them at all. That isn't the same thing, is it?
And he says Elvis has enemies, which I think means lots of challenges, unless it
really means those space aliens. They're trying to abduct him, you know. And the
air force--that would be the Delarquan pegasus corpse, right? They're helping the
aliens. Which just SHOWS.
So, here's some fights.
U.S. STEEL (49-3369) (19-20-0,75) of THE BONDS fought WHITE TRASH (17-5485) (1-
2-0,10) of S.C.O.T.S. U.S. STEEL overpowered WHITE TRASH in a 1 minute one-sided
bout. I like white trash cans, is this the same thing? Because if they're white,
you can tell when they're clean.
BEER (71-3539) (26-35-0,83) of STUFF I BROUGHT fought WHITEWING (13-4346) (21-
36-0,74) of CARDOW HUNTERS. BEER overpowered WHITEWING in a 1 minute uneven fight.
So maybe he shouldn't drink?
FLESH RIPPER (74-3375) (12-6-1,50) of LUROCIANS XI fought LUCIFREYJA (103-40)
(19-21-1,90) of Other People. FLESH RIPPER savagely defeated LUCIFREYJA in a popular
3 minute gruesome fight. And Luci wasn't happy about it, but that's the way it IS
for standbys sometimes.
PLACES THE LOTION... (98-909) (7-4-5,30) of ARCANE BEACH DAY fought LOPING WOLF
(56-1796) (61-107-0,86) of REDHORSE. PLACES THE LOTION... was handily defeated by
LOPING WOLF in a 1 minute contest. And the lotion was in the wrong place afterward,
too. That's bad. The lotion is important.
LOKI (71-3798) (18-17-1,91) of ARCTIC GUARDS fought LULU (32-3523) (24-30-1,57)
of FISHERMAN'S WHARF. LOKI overpowered LULU in a 1 minute uneven fray. Aren't you
GLAD she didn't get to use her lucky skillet? It's plus four.
RED BARON (33-1092) (33-36-3,141) of LUROCIANS II fought HELYSE (103-36) (45-35-
5,165) of Other People. RED BARON defeated HELYSE in an exciting 1 minute duel. But
he's taking her out for pizza afterward, so it's okay.
TIGRESS (13-4471) (30-28-0,115) of CARDOW HUNTERS fought BLUE (33-5776) (27-17-
1,120) of BLADES OF GRASS. TIGRESS was devastated by BLUE in a 1 minute one-sided
contest. Blue is TOTALLY not her color, you know.
TESEN (12-4211) (45-51-1,168) of DEMONS OF DARKNESS fought LORD FIREFLASH (33-
2966) (31-33-0,112) of LUROCIANS II. TESEN beat LORD FIREFLASH in a crowd pleasing 1
minute fight. So does this mean that the Demons of Darkness think the Lurocians are
the team to beat?
SUE (22-5828) (26-26-1,178) of WOMEN OF REALITY fought REDFOX (13-4197) (52-72-
0,120) of CARDOW HUNTERS. SUE was subdued by REDFOX in an exciting 2 minute bout. I
saw a fox once, but it was more of a brown color.
SMUG BUG (55-2900) (41-76-0,155) of RHYME TYME fought WRATH OF ONE (82-11628)
(15-3-1,138) of LUROCIANS XII. SMUG BUG was devastated by WRATH OF ONE in a 1 minute
one-sided fight. Which is a lot of wrath.
HERMES (58-6016) (22-10-0,183) of MYTHICAL fought LORD REDMOND (12-4109) (34-24-
1,165) of LUROCIANS IV. HERMES handily defeated LORD REDMOND in a crowd pleasing 1
minute mismatched bout. With his hands. That's how you do handy defeating. If it's
just plain defeating, you have to use your feet.
LUMP O'GORE (13-1212) (99-90-5,205) of ILLFANG PACT fought HELYSE (103-36) (45-
35-5,165) of Other People. LUMP O'GORE bested HELYSE in a 1 minute duel. Twice in
one day. That's totally the pits.
LORD LIGHTSPEED (33-2928) (38-30-3,196) of LUROCIANS II fought FRAIL WHALE (55-
1968) (112-163-3,195) of RHYME TYME. LORD LIGHTSPEED was handily defeated by FRAIL
WHALE in a 1 minute uneven fight. Did you know that a whale's bones are sort of
soft, or at least they bend? Like stays. For corsets. Like that, not that corsets
bend a lot, but at least it isn't CEMENT.
PANIC ATTACK (9-3624) (32-23-1,196) of DSM4 fought SUPERIOR FORCES (33-4543)
(65-100-2,168) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. PANIC ATTACK demolished SUPERIOR FORCES in a
crowd pleasing 1 minute one-sided brawl. So do we change the name to Second-Class
Forces?
PARANOIA (9-4557) (29-7-1,246) of DSM4 fought FUNNY BUNNY (55-1862) (92-130-
1,189) of RHYME TYME. PARANOIA demolished FUNNY BUNNY in a crowd pleasing 2 minute
mismatched competition. And afterward, Bunny wouldn't go to the arena Infirmary,
because the orderlies were out to GET him, and he just hid in the corners and stuff.
HOUSE MOUSE (55-221) (118-183-2,226) of RHYME TYME fought JULIUS (64-3641) (74-
89-2,182) of UNDER DURESS. HOUSE MOUSE overpowered JULIUS in a 1 minute one-sided
fight. So, is Julius an elephant? Because who else could a mouse overcome?
TYVIN (60-5382) (55-47-1,215) of DEMONS OF DARKNESS 2 fought ROYLAND (56-3380)
(72-50-0,190) of REDHORSE. TYVIN overpowered ROYLAND in a 1 minute uneven match.

Challenge matches next, with sulfur. Or is it phosphorous? I never studied
chemistry much. It was always more fun to go to the beach.

whatever. But short names are easy!
And for being Lord Marshall: WOUNDWORT (12-4228) (61-37-0,301) of DARKMOON TV
challenged SEVERUS SNAPE (18-7146) (41-25-0,233) of HOUSE SLYTHERIN. Down some, but
if it's for Lord Marshall, that's different, right? WOUNDWORT was bested by SEVERUS

FACE-TO-FACE XXXIV
Our next Winter Face-to-Face will be held on Martin Luther King weekend, Friday
through Sunday, 14-16 January 2005, at the Embassy Suites in Tempe, Arizona (4400 S
Rural Rd--this is the same hotel as last year). Room rates are $139.00 per night,
1-4 occupancy, which includes breakfast. The rooms are blocked. The reservations
number is 480-897-7444; tell them you're with the "Reality Simulations Face to Face
Convention" block. Our room block will be released in mid-December, so please make
sure you reserve your room before then!
Room rates include a full cooked-to-order breakfast and a complimentary two-hour
manager's reception. There is a free shuttle to the airport, as well as free parking.
The hotel is located down the freeway in Tempe. All rooms have high speed internet
(for an extra charge). There is a fitness center, jacuzzi, and pool, and of course a
bar and Mexican restaurant inside the hotel. And there's Denny's right across the
street. Look for transportation info in the tournament information sheet.
The tournament information sheet/strategy sheet should be out sometime in late
November/early December.
If you haven't been to a Face-to-Face before, you're overdue. If you have,
