Oh, hi. It's just little 'ol Debby Tonte. Thought I'd check out FREE BLADES to
see if anybody's found my skis. Why do people always take my skis? I really don't
understand this. You know? I mean, I've heard of people taking gloves or hankies
or, you know, some other stuff, but skis?
Oh, well.
MVP award for RED BARON? LUROCIANS II's proud of him after beating SERAPH and
getting 33 points. And no wonder, when you look at the difference in points they
started with. I think Red should get more. But nobody asks me.
PARANOIA thinks his 38-9-1 and studly character is good enough to face up to the
Lord Marshall. And he was right. Was that a tear I saw in PARANOIA's eye, as he
took over the Lord Marshallship? Maybe it was just, you know, that the place hadn't
been cleaned over the holidays.
Look, you guys stick to fighting, all right? NO, wait, why did I say that? Try
doing something ELSE than fighting! But, anyway, STUFF I BROUGHT was FREE BLADES'
most avoided team. Is there some award for that? Wait while I check. No, I don't
see one on the, you know, list. I don't know what LAFFALYMPICS has been doing. They
certainly haven't been accepting many fights from STUFF I BROUGHT, that's fer sher.
Maybe if you bring some different stuff next time?
Like, is MILA popular, or what? He was challenged the most in all of FREE
BLADES! Maybe that means he's un-popular. He's got a 68-102-0, is that good? For
anything?
Challenges, revenges, bloodfeuds, no, not bloodfeuds. Anyway, nobody died this
time. All FREE BLADES ever talks about is fighting! If they (meaning you) talk at
all.
Remember, blood on a purple robe may stain. Soak it in cold water, and hand

uneven bout. I've heard about inertia. It means never, ever moving at all. So why
was there action?
U.S. STEEL (49-3369) (23-26-0,88) of THE BONDS fought SKULL STROKER (21-5590)
(20-9-0,79) of BLACKEST PRIDE. U.S. STEEL was overpowered by SKULL STROKER in a 1
minute one-sided bout. Which U.S. Steel's skull got stroked, I guess. It isn't the
same as strokes when you use a sword, though. Not like brushing your hair or
anything. Does U.S. Steel have hair?
JIMMY THE AINT (82-19733) (21-5-1,55) of BLADE BROTHERS fought WEDNESDAY (16-
5254) (16-16-2,69) of THE DARK TIDES. JIMMY THE AINT was vanquished by WEDNESDAY in
a 1 minute one-sided match. That was, you know, totally fast. Most people weren't
vanquished till Thursday!
SMILING GOAT (82-20735) (15-12-0,85) of SHAVE MY POODLE fought T-BONE (13-3139)
(22-6-0,88) of LEGION OF DUMB. SMILING GOAT was overpowered by T-BONE in a popular 1
minute one-sided match. Now the goat is not smiling, because they don't like T-
bones. A, B, C, yes, but T is too advanced.
MAINE COON CAT (21-5358) (21-12-0,91) of MEOW MIX fought WHITEWING (13-4346)
(24-43-0,79) of CARDOW HUNTERS. MAINE COON CAT handily defeated WHITEWING in a crowd
pleasing 1 minute uneven duel. And besides that, he pulled all Whitewing's feathers
off.
LOPING WOLF (56-1796) (67-111-0,118) of REDHORSE fought THE SICKNESS (21-5327)
(25-8-1,141) of BLACKEST PRIDE. LOPING WOLF was overpowered by THE SICKNESS in a
popular 1 minute one-sided duel. The maintenance people are, like, totally upset
about Loping, because he was sick all over the sands. This is hard to clean up.
BEER (71-3539) (32-39-0,118) of STUFF I BROUGHT fought SCHIZOPHRENIC (9-4595)
(22-11-1,102) of DSM4. BEER devastated SCHIZOPHRENIC in a 1 minute one-sided
contest. Next time, use an umbrella in your beer, Schizophrenic. It helps. No,
really, it does. And maybe some fruit.
KELOS (55-30) (67-97-3,180) of ROCANIS RIDERS fought REDFOX (13-4197) (53-81-
0,115) of CARDOW HUNTERS. KELOS overpowered REDFOX in a 1 minute mismatched fight.
Everybody overpowers Redfox. This is not news.
HOUSE MOUSE (55-221) (122-189-2,172) of RHYME TYME fought JULIUS (64-3641) (76-
97-2,141) of UNDER DURESS. HOUSE MOUSE demolished JULIUS in a 1 minute one-sided
bout. There's a mouse in my house, too, and it's demolishing. I may have to do
something about it.
SMUG BUG (55-2900) (46-81-0,178) of RHYME TYME fought LORD FIREFLASH (33-2966)
(36-38-0,146) of LUROCIANS II. SMUG BUG bested LORD FIREFLASH in an exciting 1
minute fight. Now the Bug is a firefly. I wish somebody would just squash it.
SEVERUS SNAPE (18-7146) (45-27-0,205) of HOUSE SLYTHERIN fought LORD LIGHTSPEED
(33-2928) (41-37-3,163) of LUROCIANS II. SEVERUS SNAPE bested LORD LIGHTSPEED in a 2
minute brawl. Well, of course. I mean, even I know what's faster than light.
Gossip, that's what.

4543) (68-107-2,168) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. LORD REDMOND viciously subdued
SUPERIOR FORCES in an action packed 4 minute duel. It's a curse. Being named
Superior, it makes you lose a lot. Well, I mean, look at his record.
LADY EMILY (33-6626) (30-23-1,192) of LUROCIANS II fought LOKI (71-3798) (24-21-
2,180) of ARCTIC GUARDS. LADY EMILY handily defeated LOKI in a popular 1 minute
uneven fight. Which is what happens if you're not polite to Miss Emily. She cares.
GROGGY DOGGY (55-223) (132-184-0,213) of RHYME TYME fought ELVIS (7-612) (42-35-
0,199) of THE ROCKERS. GROGGY DOGGY demolished ELVIS in a popular 4 minute bloody
mismatched match. Actually, he didn't demolish Elvis. Nothing demolishes Elvis,
because the saucer people take care of him. But the Doggy chewed up his blue suede
shoes.
ROYLAND (56-3380) (79-53-0,213) of REDHORSE fought THE MADNESS (21-5214) (36-15-
1,203) of BLACKEST PRIDE. ROYLAND bested THE MADNESS in a crowd pleasing 1 minute
conflict. I don't see how Royland did this. I mean, there's a catch somewhere,
right? What's ten points and eighty fights difference?
SERAPH (69-5725) (36-13-1,301) of DEATH REALM fought RED BARON (33-1092) (38-41-
3,181) of LUROCIANS II. SERAPH was overpowered by RED BARON in a 2 minute one-sided
match. This is the one I mentioned before, that the Commission scribes said I was to
be sure and notice. So here it is.
TYVIN (60-5382) (58-47-1,249) of DEMONS OF DARKNESS 2 fought WRATH OF ONE (82-
11628) (18-10-2,183) of LUROCIANS XII. TYVIN overpowered WRATH OF ONE in a 1 minute
one-sided melee. I thought tyvin was some kind of paper with plastic strings in it,
for envelopes and things. But I guess not. Nobody ever tells me about stuff like
this.
TRYURLUCK (61-1029) (64-60-1,221) of BLOOD KNIGHTS fought HERMES (58-6016) (29-
13-0,210) of MYTHICAL. TRYURLUCK was overpowered by HERMES in a popular 1 minute
gory uneven duel. Because of the winged shoes, is what *I* bet. Winged shoes make a
difference. If you don't believe me, just try it and see.
And some challenge matches.

3180) (72-43-2,204) of THE MOTHERSHIP II. Up 13. HAYSEED X-IV was vanquished by
NOFX in an action packed 1 minute uneven Challenge duel. Well, you know, thirteen is
an unlucky number. People say so.
SCOURGE (74-2857) (36-25-1,196) of DARK ANGELS challenged MILA (55-29) (68-101-
0,190) of ROCANIS RIDERS. Down 6. SCOURGE overpowered MILA in a popular 2 minute
gruesome mismatched Challenge brawl. Good! He robs caravans, you know, and he
should get beaten up sometimes to remind him not to. It's the kind of thing some
people can forget.
KREWKUT SAUSAGE (65-6327) (31-26-0,212) of LINCOLNSHIRE challenged FRAIL WHALE
(55-1968) (118-167-3,209) of RHYME TYME. Down 3. KREWKUT SAUSAGE devastated FRAIL
WHALE in a 2 minute bloody one-sided Challenge duel. Whale sausage? I think I will
maybe not try it.

Battle Royal 4
The Battle Royal arena contests are one of the purest tests of manager skill
available. The rules are simple. The scoring is simple. The updates are live. If
you would like to participate, simply get a team ready in Talcama in the next month
and announce in the personals that you're in. The prize is bragging rights and
having your name along side previous winners (Doc Steele, Manray Frothingslosh, and
Manager). It is a brutal contest, but it is a lot of fun!
Basic rules: No avoiding other contest teams. Score = Wins + Kills - Losses.
Only fights against other BR teams count. First team to 25 wins!
BR4 begins in Talcama (DM 18) on turn 502, due on Jan 29, 2005.

TURF WAR IV -- GRAND CONTEST NOTICE!
The Turf War IV Grand Contest will commence on Turn 221 (approx. February 22,
2005). For those who have never participated, Turf Wars are alliance-type contest
and Winner-Takes-All. There are no 2nd place winners!
Everyone may participate; known alliances, new alliances, or temporary alliances
created to compete in the Turf War! However, to participate, each alliance must:
A. Announce the alliance name and the Captain of the alliance in the North Fork
(DM #47) newsletter.
Captains are responsible for:
A. Verifying those who wish to participate under the banner of their alliance;
B. Distribution of prizes should their alliance win the TW4.
Managers must:
A. Submit one (1) RSI Roll-up Gift Certificate to participate;
B. Announce their intent to compete with manager name, team name and alliance
in which they will be fighting under, in the DM #47 North Fork newsletter.
Rules:
1. No scoring will begin until an RSI Roll-up Gift Certificate is received. No
exceptions will be made.
2. Before a manager can compete, he must be acknowledged and verified by the Captain
of the alliance he has claimed for;
A. The following turn, points will begin to be awarded or subtracted;
3. Only one (1) team per manager may compete. No multiple aliases please (we'll be
checking this and if caught...you'll be disqualified and no refund);
4. The contest will end on Turn 233 (12 turns!). Winners will be announced on Turn
234 and prizes sent to winning alliance between Turn 233 and 234.
5. No declarations will be acknowledged after Turn 231.
6. For the purpose of scoring, I reserve the right to make all final decisions.

Special Scoring:
A. Each mention in the Spy Report is worth 5 points;
B. Each Style Master is worth 5 points;
Champions:
A. Champions may be declared, but are not mandatory. If declared, they must be
in the Adepts or lower brackets.
Bloodfeuds:
A. Bloodfeuds will count for all four turns. However, the same warrior may not
bloodfeud all four turns. A penalty of -10 will be given to the team who
violates this rule.
Special Conditions:
A. I reserve the right for all final decisions.
B. If I make a mistake, I'll multiply the points by 2;
C. If you claim I did, and *YOU* are wrong; I'll subtract points at the rate of
x10!
D. Each alliance begins with zero (0) points.
E. Dark Arena may be used on the first turn of every warrior with no penalty.
F. T.V.'s won after contest begins gain a Triple rate of scoring.
G. T.C.'s won after the contest begins gain a multiple of 10 scoring.
H. No switching alliances once verified by an alliance.
