                                 THE GUARDIAN'S FORUM
                           Reflections by the Lord-Marshall

Hello all, it is I your new Tower Guardian The Blob. I guess I'm Garfield's first
Tower Guardian in AD, so he made sure I said a few words. I've been trying to
challenge tower guardian for the past six turns, and one time I challenged Paranoia
when I didn't know if he would be tower guardian or not. Unfortunatly he lost the
top spot, and that's when I finally got him. I beat him as well as Lord Lightspeed,
so that must really mean I deserve it. I'm sorry about challenging you Greek Guy,
cause I guess you and Garfield know eachother, but hey I've been challenging tower
guardian for the last six turns, and I couldn't just stop. I'm not challenging
anyone, so I welcome all comers. Garfield seems to think that any Duelmaster, or in
this case Tower Guardian should be able to beat anyone, therefore not challenge sure
wins.... what an idiot! Not to say that any of you guys out there are for sure wins,
but I'm still not going to challenge. I'm sure my winning streak of seven wins in a
row will end soon now that I have a bull's eye on me. Oh well, come and get it.

See ya on the sands,

The Blob

(I'm not fat, I'm just big boned!)

It says here in a note to the Editor that this was submitted without an arena number
but he, meaning Customer Service, thinks it goes here. I don't know, nobody tells me
stuff like that. But we didn't have a column from anybody else, so why not? -- Debby

                             REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER

Well, here it is, June. Officially summer, and I can sure tell! These are
beach days, but only if you have umbrellas in the sand, as well as in your drink,
because of needing some shade for, you know, relief. Trees are, like, totally
organic, but they attract bugs, so an umbrella is better.

Saratoga Glory was avoided by the Philanthropists. The scribes that made these
notes don't know why, but *I* know. It's because the Philanthropists don't want to
fight them. What's puzzling about that?
Lulu got more challenges than the Lord Marshall, which doesn't mean much since
the Lord Marshall didn't get any. Are you guys shunning him?
We had thirty-two fights, which is an okay number, and fifteen challenge
matches, which is, like, totally tubular. But all radio, no tv.
The longest fight was nine minutes, which is too long on a hot day like this.
Keep it short next time, okay?

A guy said to me the other day that the spy reports are the color. Or for the
color. Or something to do with color, anyway. I didn't know that. I mean, sure, a
lot of gladiators would be better off if they got color draped so their armor
wouldn't clash (it's okay for weapons to clash, and some managers think it's even
really cool, especially at the beginning of fights). But that isn't the same thing,
is it? Anyway, I'm sort of totally hazy on this whole color business, but I'll do
what I can.

JUDGE PARKER (12-5845) (16-14-1,64) of THE LAWMEN fought SATAN CLAUS (6-5878)
(17-3-0,50) of HOLIDAY HORRORS. JUDGE PARKER was demolished by SATAN CLAUS in an
exciting 1 minute one-sided fight. S. Claus's crimson silk robe was just totally
more exciting than Judge Parker's old black rag, except after it got slashed up--the
Judge's robe--and had a scarlet pattern.
MAXWELL SMART (12-2682) (20-11-2,96) of THE LAWMEN fought AKELDAMA (56-2417)
(10-0-0,71) of ACT OF MALICE. MAXWELL SMART was handily defeated by AKELDAMA in a 1
minute one-sided fight. I don't know this Akeldama person, except that he wears a
funny hat, and he shouldn't. Why two tassles? It looks unbalanced or something the
way they swing wildly. And why is Maxie wearing only one shoe? Um, it's a black
shoe. The one he has on; I don't know what color the other one is.
SON OF SAM (17-3911) (18-9-1,117) of MALICIOUS INTENT fought XHUGHA KARGARIT
(103-38) (32-28-1,130) of the College of Mimes. SON OF SAM was defeated by XHUGHA
KARGARIT in an action packed 3 minute fight. Son was wearing a kind of pink surcoat,
which I don't think was really HIM at all. I think the stewards heard "Spam" and
picked it, and he didn't have time to get rid of it. But Xhugha is making, like, a
statement in whiteface with dark green clothes. Just, don't ask what the statement
IS. He gets mad.
WHATCHA WANT (17-3627) (29-34-5,121) of THE ARMAGEDDON fought GOSSAMER (35-3656)
(26-13-1,134) of PHILANTHROPISTS 2. WHATCHA WANT beat GOSSAMER in an action packed 2
minute brutal competition. This is so unfair! How can I talk about color for
Gossamer? There isn't any. Well, maybe a sort of faintly white sort of glassiness.
But it isn't really COLOR.
WHITEWING (13-4346) (28-51-0,120) of CARDOW HUNTERS fought BINDI (29-4454) (19-
10-2,112) of CROC FILES. WHITEWING overcame BINDI in an action packed 1 minute bout.
Are Crocs green? I mean, should Bindi BE that color? Of course, it looks good with
Whitewing, but still, is it the right color? I thought they were sort of blackish,
or am I thinking of alligators?
     ARTEMISIA (12-5096) (34-37-0,138) of DARKMOON fought TIGRESS (13-4471) (33-47-
0,125) of CARDOW HUNTERS. ARTEMISIA vanquished TIGRESS in a 1 minute uneven bout. I
couldn't do it, because of the stripes being totally confusing, they seem to almost
move, you know? And orange and black? That's, like, garish.

LORD FIREFLASH (33-2966) (43-43-0,163) of LUROCIANS II fought INSPECTOR GADGET
(12-2133) (28-14-2,135) of THE LAWMEN. LORD FIREFLASH slimly lost to INSPECTOR
GADGET in a popular 4 minute brutal fight. Fire is, like, red, right? Or maybe
orange, with yellow bits. And when it flashes, it's really bright. But what color
is a gadget? How can I do color comments if I just see, you know, plain old black
and steel armor and glowing red eyes? That's been DONE, you know? It's old caps.
DOC HOLIDAY (12-2956) (23-22-1,177) of THE LAWMEN fought LORD REDMOND (12-4109)
(41-39-1,177) of LUROCIANS IV. DOC HOLIDAY was narrowly defeated by LORD REDMOND in
a 3 minute fight. And then, when somebody's name gives me a hint, he goes against
it! This is so totally frustrating! Why is Lord Redmond wearing a blue scarf?
KELOS (55-30) (71-105-3,184) of ROCANIS RIDERS fought SUPERIOR FORCES (33-4543)
(73-114-2,177) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. KELOS was defeated by SUPERIOR FORCES in an
action packed 1 minute fight. Kelos is wearing a funny hat, because of the Rocani
Legion, which I know isn't color, but he's got one with a striped towel on it. Red
stripes with black edges, on a white towel. That IS color, and because he's wearing
the hat over his helmet, I can see it, and that is GOOD. Thank you.
LADY EMILY (33-6626) (34-31-1,203) of LUROCIANS II fought OSIRIS (19-4111) (35-
25-2,169) of ANARCHY. LADY EMILY vanquished OSIRIS in a popular 2 minute brutal
mismatched fray. Are Lady E's pink gloves enough color for this fight? She didn't
get blood on them or anything. Or maybe it just didn't stick, but anyway, they
looked very clean at the end of the fight. Like, dainty.
JULIA (60-4651) (32-34-0,189) of ROMPER ROOM fought TREMOR CHRIST (17-4047) (38-
28-2,183) of IMMORTAL ASYLUM. JULIA was subdued by TREMOR CHRIST in an action packed
1 minute bout. I don't even want to talk about Julia's rompers. I mean, sure,
they're fine for a beach, but this is the wrong kind of sand, and she should KNOW.

RED BARON (33-1092) (45-46-3,187) of LUROCIANS II fought ROYLAND (56-3380) (86-
58-0,205) of REDHORSE. RED BARON devastated ROYLAND in an action packed 1 minute
one-sided bout. This fight is easy, at least, because it's all red. Tomato red, and
that sort of browny horse red, and lots of blood red.
TRYURLUCK (61-1029) (72-64-1,194) of BLOOD KNIGHTS fought ROBIN OF SHEW-WOOD
(103-33) (1-0-1,220) of the College of Mimes. TRYURLUCK savagely defeated ROBIN OF
SHEW-WOOD in a crowd pleasing 2 minute fight. Um... Robin was wearing Shewish green,
which is kind of brownish green and hard to see in a forest, you know how it is with
hunters and woodmen and people like that, but it's really visible against the sand.
Maybe this is a mistake on Robin's part?
JULIUS (64-3641) (81-104-2,198) of UNDER DURESS fought WRATH OF ONE (82-11628)
(23-17-2,191) of LUROCIANS XII. JULIUS was demolished by WRATH OF ONE in a 2 minute
one-sided bout. Julius was in orange. Again. It doesn't matter how many times I
tell him that orange is NOT his best color, he WILL wear it.
THE WHEAT KING (58-5407) (64-46-2,213) of AUTUMN LIGHTNING fought LORD
LIGHTSPEED (33-2928) (46-44-3,199) of LUROCIANS II. THE WHEAT KING unbelievably
bested LORD LIGHTSPEED in a popular 9 minute brutal brawl. Okay, um, the Wheat King
was in, you know, golden brown or maybe brownish gold. I don't know what Lightspeed
was wearing because I couldn't see him. He was standing still so fast that he just
was a sort of black blur. And besides, this was the longest fight.
GROGGY DOGGY (55-223) (139-189-0,246) of RHYME TYME fought FUT COUGH (17-4815)
(44-20-0,189) of IMMORTAL ASYLUM. GROGGY DOGGY viciously subdued FUT COUGH in an
exciting 4 minute bloody fray. It took me a while to wake up after the last fight,
so I missed the start of this one. And by the time I did look, the colors were just
all blood red.

     And the challenge matches:
BULLROARER TOOK (60-4376) (24-14-0,56) of FOR THE SHIRE challenged LULU (32-
3523) (27-49-1,64) of FISHERMAN'S WHARF. Up 8. BULLROARER TOOK overpowered LULU in
a popular 1 minute mismatched Challenge conflict. Do I have to do colors for the
challenge matches, too? Well, today I won't unless it just, like, hits me in the
eye. Up and down is enough for these fights.
DYNAMO (82-24403) (13-5-0,77) of PERPETUAL MOTION challenged MOUSE NOYLE (17-
6252) (29-43-0,95) of MIDDLE WAY. Up 18. DYNAMO savagely defeated MOUSE NOYLE in a
2 minute bloody Challenge match. And I'm glad, because Mouse Noyle has this really
cheesy mustache, and Dynamo shaved it close.
COLOSSUS (22-5820) (18-9-0,53) of BLADES OF WONDER challenged CASSIE (29-4574)
(16-9-0,70) of CROC FILES. Up 17. COLOSSUS was murdered by CASSIE in a 1 minute
bloody mismatched Challenge competition. Gosh, did somebody forget to feed the
Crocs?
TRADEMARK (32-4114) (20-5-3,85) of SARATOGA GLORY challenged U.S. STEEL (49-
3369) (29-32-1,100) of THE BONDS. Up 15. TRADEMARK handily defeated U.S. STEEL in
an exciting 1 minute one-sided Challenge bout. I thought U.S. Steel WAS a trademark!
This is confusing.
JELIAH BIGABO (35-3676) (22-6-1,70) of PHILANTHROPISTS 3 challenged WE LIKE THE
MOON (25-5013) (22-10-4,70) of SPONGMONKEYS. Straight across. JELIAH BIGABO
vanquished WE LIKE THE MOON in a 2 minute one-sided Challenge fight. I didn't know
jeli beans came in that color.

STYLISH (32-4116) (20-6-1,146) of SARATOGA GLORY challenged SMUG BUG (55-2900)
(51-88-0,151) of RHYME TYME. Up 5. STYLISH defeated SMUG BUG in a 2 minute
Challenge duel. So much for, like, smug.

RETRIBUTION (74-2982) (20-9-1,123) of BROTHERHOOD challenged VICTIM OF SOCIETY
(55-3179) (26-26-2,138) of PHILANTHROPISTS. Up 15. RETRIBUTION vanquished VICTIM OF
SOCIETY in a 1 minute uneven Challenge duel. Does this mean that Retribution is part
of society? Any particular society? Does it matter, so long as he wins?
DR MAX (73-5311) (22-3-0,141) of RACE THE WIND challenged LOPING WOLF (56-1796)
(73-117-0,143) of REDHORSE. Up 2. DR MAX devastated LOPING WOLF in a 1 minute one-
sided Challenge competition. I guess Max isn't a wolf doctor. Which is probably
good, because there are more people than wolfs around here.
ROWARDENN (16-4105) (25-14-0,159) of SAILS OF CHARON challenged REDFOX (13-4197)
(58-88-0,154) of CARDOW HUNTERS. Down 5. ROWARDENN defeated REDFOX in an exciting 3
minute Challenge struggle. Did you know it can be hard to see blood on fox fur?
Unless it's a gray fox.
     PANIC ATTACK (9-3624) (36-30-2,178) of DSM4 challenged WYATT EARP (12-2168) (34-
18-1,188) of THE LAWMEN. Up 10. PANIC ATTACK was bested by WYATT EARP in a 2 minute
Challenge duel. Is this a case of, like, color him calm?

SAMPSA (31-4233) (31-34-4,159) of SOL INVICTUS challenged HOUSE MOUSE (55-221)
(129-194-2,170) of RHYME TYME. Up 11. SAMPSA was overpowered by HOUSE MOUSE in a 1
minute mismatched Challenge match. You know, we have too many mice here. We need
more cats.
     T-BONE (13-3139) (27-9-0,199) of LEGION OF DUMB challenged MILA (55-29) (77-104-
0,251) of ROCANIS RIDERS. Up 52. T-BONE was vanquished by MILA in a popular 1
minute mismatched Challenge brawl. Mila LIKES to eat meat. I know this SAYS
"vanquished," but it should be "demolished and consumed." Same like Cassie going for
Colussus.
DARTMAN (33-7161) (25-10-2,190) of COLGATE DAYS challenged PHIL PHILANTHROPIST
(20-3330) (28-48-2,197) of PHILANTHROPISTS. Up 7. DARTMAN subdued PHIL
PHILANTHROPIST in a 2 minute Challenge fight. With darts. Which are just very short
shortspears.
GERONTIUS TOOK (60-4861) (30-10-0,209) of FOR THE SHIRE challenged GOLEM (35-
1485) (46-38-1,194) of THE PHILANTHROPISTS. Down 15. GERONTIUS TOOK was bested by
GOLEM in an exciting 4 minute gruesome Challenge duel. But what I want to know is,
what did Gerontius take?
JOPPA CLUBFIST (12-3748) (30-25-0,211) of HALL OF GIANT challenged FUNNY BUNNY
(55-1862) (106-138-1,230) of RHYME TYME. Up 19. JOPPA CLUBFIST was bested by FUNNY
BUNNY in a 2 minute Challenge fight. Primus, please, take this Bunny for your very
own!

And for Lord Marshall: NEBUCHADNEZZAR (22-5821) (42-31-0,257) of BLADES OF
WONDER fought SAVAGE SAGE (17-4022) (34-31-0,216) of IMMORTAL ASYLUM. NEBUCHADNEZZAR
vanquished SAVAGE SAGE in a 2 minute mismatched Title bout. I guess savage isn't
enough.

Somebody write a column, and if the Lord Marshall doesn't, we'll print yours
even if you aren't here or Lord Marshall or whatever. I don't know what's going on,
after all!

                                    Debby T.

Paranoia -- That was quite embarrassing. Remind your manager to change your train.
-- Royland, still sore

Golem -- When I saw who had challenged me, I hoped you would be a little more true to
your style. (wincing) You're a bit too aggressive for my taste. -- Kelos

The Cat's Meow -- THAT was a dangerous challenge! You almost pushed me onto the
Lord-Marshall's throne! Well, it's interesting to note that you're faster than I am,
considering our respective styles. Nice try. -- Mila

Son of Sam -- You're welcome. I'm happy to show you some of my skills any time. --
Loping Wolf

The Redhorse/Rocanis Riders Guild is in favor of merging with Lirin Kiv! We say, the
more the merrier! -- Mila

Eye of the Tiger -- No doubt someone has mentioned this before, but you would do
better if you brought the claws, muscles, and reflexes of the tiger to the match as
well as the eye. -- Redfox the ever-helpful

Dr Max -- I hate it when you do that. -- Tigress

Trademark -- Quite the home-town get-together, was it not? And of course you knew
that you could always turn to the Wharf for skills and a win. -- Lulu, pheeling
philosophical

We Like the Moon -- So? -- Mouse Noyle

Lord Fireflash -- (wincing) Very fiery and flashy. I could have done without that
last explosion, though. -- Whitewing

Sue -- You're trying to get me into trouble, aren't you? -- U.S. Steel
