REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Oh, hi. It's just, you know, me. I didn't really want to come inside, because
it's totally beautiful out, except for the smoke. Everybody burning their leaves,
you know? But that's okay, because you can roast a marshmallow over a leaf fire.
And then, when the outside's all black, and the inside's all runny, you throw the
whole thing on the fire and shriek. This time of year is just totally gazebo. And
jumping in piles of leaves. They crumble and get in your socks, and down the back of
your neck, and everybody has fun.
But now it's dark, but with half a moon, but still dark, so I guess I can come
in for a little while, unless there's a good fire... no, I can't see one. Having a
fire at night is the best, but so many people are afraid of it getting away. Oh,
well.
Here's some stuff from the office notes. U.S. Steel got MVP after gaining 32
points.
Samoo, who was Lord Marshall last time, sat out, or maybe slept in today and
lost the title. It happens.
Duplicate Redundancy was avoided (twice!) most (over and over again!) by
Philanthropists (in triplicate!).
Smug Bug got the most challenges. I challenged a smug bug today. It was a
lady-of-the-evening bug, you know, like a lady bug but off color. I challenged it to
come close enough for me to smack it with my notepad that I write the spy report on.
And if it crawled on my sandwich, I was really going to fry it! But it just got
squashed. Not even a pumpkin, just a little squash. I mean, I'm not cruel. The bug
could have run away. I wouldn't chase it.
Only nineteen fights? Where IS everybody? This is gazebo! Four challenge
matches. Nobody died.
Well, the Commission sent me all these notes, so I guess I might as well look at
them.
JAVELINO (56-3728) (27-19-0,58) of REDHORSE fought LULU (32-3523) (29-57-1,59)
of FISHERMAN'S WHARF. JAVELINO was overpowered by LULU in a 1 minute one-sided duel.
There's a note beside this that says everyone is invited to the Wharf for porkchops
and barbecue.
KIMO (70-6089) (25-24-4,85) of FEAR FACTORY IV fought CASSIE (29-4574) (20-14-
1,90) of CROC FILES. KIMO devastated CASSIE in a 1 minute one-sided contest. I
heard Kimo was talking about getting alligator boots.
U.S. STEEL (49-3369) (34-37-1,108) of THE BONDS fought PUNGENT STENCH (61-2458)
(30-15-1,134) of FEAR FACTORY. U.S. STEEL overpowered PUNGENT STENCH in a popular 1
minute bloody one-sided bout. Gosh, it should have been, um, Baking Soda or
something like that overpowering the stench, shouldn't it? I never heard of using
steel for it.
TIGRESS (13-4471) (36-54-0,159) of CARDOW HUNTERS fought SUPERIOR FORCES (33-
4543) (76-121-2,150) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. TIGRESS was devastated by SUPERIOR
FORCES in an exciting 1 minute one-sided fight. Well, you know, of course! It was a
superior force, after all.
DYNAMO (82-24403) (20-8-1,158) of PERPETUAL MOTION fought SCRAPPA (29-4411) (20-
17-2,102) of CROC FILES. DYNAMO handily defeated SCRAPPA in a 1 minute bloody
mismatched bout. I don't know about Scrappa, but *I* got dizzy watching Dynamo
whirling around the arena like that. It was gazebo!
MORTIFICATION (61-2333) (37-24-4,184) of FEAR FACTORY fought REDFOX (13-4197)
(61-95-0,165) of CARDOW HUNTERS. MORTIFICATION was vanquished by REDFOX in an action
packed 1 minute mismatched bout. Gosh. This was being, like, totally outfoxed,
right? Wow.
ROYLAND (56-3380) (91-63-0,190) of REDHORSE fought ARUNDA ROCKTROLL (103-35)
(60-40-2,190) of the College of Mimes. ROYLAND savagely defeated ARUNDA ROCKTROLL in
a crowd pleasing 2 minute gory conflict. You see? I knew Royland would be like
that. Savage. Nasty. Totally unreliable. His eyes are too close together.
FUNNY BUNNY (55-1862) (113-141-1,200) of RHYME TYME fought RIDDLER (61-1856)
(58-39-1,202) of FEAR FACTORY. FUNNY BUNNY handily defeated RIDDLER in an exciting 1
minute bloody one-sided contest. People said that it couldn't, you know, be done.
Not a chance. That the Riddler would know all the punch lines and he'd GET the
Bunny. But it didn't work out that way. Darn.
MILA (55-29) (83-108-0,198) of ROCANIS RIDERS fought HOUSE MOUSE (55-221) (134-
199-2,185) of RHYME TYME. MILA was overpowered by HOUSE MOUSE in a crowd pleasing 1
minute one-sided match. He probably tried to trap it with common, ordinary, yellow
cheese. The best mice don't do yellow cheese. They like, you know, fancy cheese.
Gouda. Blue. Or the kind with red wax on it. One of those.
TEXAS GLITTER (35-3509) (32-16-0,188) of EXACTLY! fought WHITEWING (13-4346)
(33-56-0,154) of CARDOW HUNTERS. TEXAS GLITTER defeated WHITEWING in an action
packed 1 minute gory match. Well, why not? Whitewing was blinded by all those
sequins. TG, can you do Hound Dog?
JELIAH BIGABO (35-3676) (29-9-2,182) of PHILANTHROPISTS 3 fought RETROVIRUS (70-
6086) (30-20-0,181) of FEAR FACTORY IV. JELIAH BIGABO was savagely defeated by
RETROVIRUS in an action packed 3 minute duel. There was a note about this by whoever
was taking the notes, I don't know which one of the office scribes it was, but I
can't say it here. It's too gazebo. Sorry.
GOLEM (35-1485) (53-41-1,245) of THE PHILANTHROPISTS fought 3 FISTED RAT BOY
(70-6130) (30-31-3,184) of GWAR. GOLEM vanquished 3 FISTED RAT BOY in a 1 minute
uneven duel. So was this one of the golems that has FOUR fists, you know, instead of
two and two feet?
TRYURLUCK (61-1029) (79-67-1,241) of BLOOD KNIGHTS fought LOPING WOLF (56-1796)
(80-120-0,198) of REDHORSE. TRYURLUCK devastated LOPING WOLF in a crowd pleasing 1
minute mismatched match. It was very messy, that's all *I* know about it.
JULIUS (64-3641) (86-109-2,223) of UNDER DURESS fought GROGGY DOGGY (55-223)
(146-192-0,225) of RHYME TYME. JULIUS bested GROGGY DOGGY in an action packed 1
minute gory brawl. I guess the Doggy got all groggy again.
SATAN CLAUS (6-5878) (22-8-0,87) of HOLIDAY HORRORS challenged MOUSE NOYLE (17-
6252) (32-50-0,100) of MIDDLE WAY. Up 13. SATAN CLAUS devastated MOUSE NOYLE in an
exciting 1 minute one-sided Challenge fight. Carlos said he would do this. After,
you know, learning how Mouse fought. This is called strategy. Or maybe management.
WE LIKE THE MOON (25-5013) (28-13-4,122) of SPONGMONKEYS challenged BINDI (29-
4454) (22-16-2,125) of CROC FILES. Up 3. WE LIKE THE MOON overpowered BINDI in a 1
minute mismatched Challenge duel. Does this mean Bindi doesn't like the moon?

BUG in a 1 minute Challenge fight. I hate that. I want to see that Bug flat. It's
the smugness. I hate smugness.
