Hey! I forgot you get a magic sword along with the title! El Cid. Its main power
is to change into whatever weapon is your favorite. So, for me it's a broadsword,
which is a really boring weapon. I haven't had a chance to test this sword in combat
yet. It swings well. They said I can't actually use it in the arena though. Fooey.
The fight that got me here was against Draco Malfoy, who challenged me and then threw
the fight. He was complaining he had run out of things to talk about. Well, so have
I, and this is my first time as Lord Marshall.
I have the same problem Draco had. There is nothing to say from up here.

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
It is Novgorodny Vir, Spymaster of Spymasters, and he's trampling about in the
forsythia! We can't have that, the forsythia didn't do a THING to deserve it. So
I'd better do a spy report to shut him up. And then rush off to wherever we're
having the tourney, because it's TOMORROW, and I have to BE there.
Blades of Wonder are being avoided by The Philanthropists. I wonder why? I
mean, the Blades guys, they're okay. Or at least, they're not Royland. Hmm. Maybe
it would be the act of a philanthropist to bash Royland around some? We'll have to
think about this.
Osiris got the most challenges. Is this good, or does he care? Did you know
that if his middle initial is O, then his name is one of those coming-and-going
things. A whatchamacallum. A palisade? Something like that.
Thirty-eight fights, which is an awkward number. I mean, it isn't round, it
isn't square, it's just, well, awkward, you know? Try for more next time. Ten
challenges, two tv and the rest radio. I don't think anybody died, and if they did,
I don't want to hear about it. Only one standby that I saw. It's hard to make a
mistake about that black and white business. Why do mimes do it? Color is more
colorful. Oh, well, enough of that. You want to hear about the fights, right? It
figures.

29-0,49) of REDHORSE. SIN-EATER beat JAVELINO in an exciting 1 minute fight. Is
Javelino a sin, that he should be eaten? Can we have sweet potatoes along with him,
and maybe some applesauce?
DIAMOND (82-33259) (5-1-0,69) of DARK TOADS 05D fought DISORDER (65-6419) (29-
15-1,77) of PARANOIA. DIAMOND overpowered DISORDER in a crowd pleasing 1 minute one-
sided competition. Is Diamond one of those toads that have jewels in their heads? I
bet he IS. Or she is, or even maybe it is. With toads, that kind of thing is hard
to tell. Except to another toad, I suppose.
LITA (82-27080) (7-4-1,100) of DARK TOADS 04D fought CHARLIE (29-4555) (23-29-
0,62) of CROC FILES. LITA vanquished CHARLIE in an action packed 1 minute one-sided
bout. And it wasn't ME, it was Lita that was talking about having some crocodile
shoes made. This is very gazebo in the fashion world.
TEMUJIN (65-3796) (26-9-0,100) of SPLIT INFINITY 2 fought MAREI (103-37) (38-32-
2,150) of the College of Mimes. TEMUJIN luckily beat MAREI in a crowd pleasing 5
minute brutal match. Well, I can just tell you, if it takes luck and five minutes to
beat a standby, then Temujin has a problem right? Probably freaked out by the mime
gear. It can be gazebo after a late night in the bars. At least, that's what people
tell me. I don't have that kind of problem.
THE SICKNESS (21-5327) (28-8-1,151) of BLACKEST PRIDE fought DYNAMO (82-24403)
(24-14-1,135) of PERPETUAL MOTION. THE SICKNESS was devastated by DYNAMO in a
popular 1 minute uneven bout. Somebody, I forget who, one of the bookies, maybe,
told me that this is called "dynamic healing." He was annoyed. Sometimes I just
don't understand about the bookies, they spend so much time getting annoyed. Where's
the fun in that?
THE QUICKLING (70-1669) (65-146-2,163) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought GISELLA (74-
2704) (30-17-0,105) of DARK TOADS. THE QUICKLING was luckily beaten by GISELLA in an
exciting 6 minute brutal struggle. Luck again. I don't think this was luck, I think
was, um, "skill and daring." At least, that's what this note here on my program
says. The boys in the Commission office make these notes for me, which is very
helpful.
T-BONE (13-3139) (29-15-0,164) of LEGION OF DUMB fought WE LIKE THE MOON (25-
5013) (33-18-4,145) of SPONGMONKEYS. T-BONE overpowered WE LIKE THE MOON in a crowd
pleasing 1 minute one-sided fray. Nobody likes the moon, which is weird, because
it's a prefectly good moon. Round and yellow and full today. Well, last night.
ARIA (75-3012) (32-36-1,174) of DARK TOADS fought VICTIM OF SOCIETY (55-3179)
(34-39-2,123) of PHILANTHROPISTS. ARIA was defeated by VICTIM OF SOCIETY in an
exciting 1 minute bout. Does this make Aria the victim of a victim? Is there a word
for that?
TOM RIDDLE (74-3501) (42-43-3,163) of SLYTHERIN HOUSE fought MOUSE NOYLE (17-
6252) (35-58-0,121) of MIDDLE WAY. TOM RIDDLE overpowered MOUSE NOYLE in a 1 minute
gory one-sided match. Another mouse-catcher. Gazebo! I say go for it! There are
too many mice in the world anyway. Think if they ALL had swords!
VALLANT (38-4151) (49-29-2,177) of DARK TOADS fought GREGORY GOYLE (74-3497)
(41-44-1,132) of SLYTHERIN HOUSE. VALLANT won victory over GREGORY GOYLE in a 2
minute fray. The note on this program says, "Greg is actually a Gar, and you know
what that means." I don't know what that means. Somebody will have to figure it out
and tell me.

and we don't want confusion here. As if!

this mean Darlina was up to something she shouldn't have been? I mean, I've always
wondered about her.

25-0,198) of IMMORTAL ASYLUM. LOPING WOLF lost to FUT COUGH in a popular 3 minute
fight. It's the name, is what it is. Somebody gets matched against Fut and they
begin to wonder what the name means, and they forget to fight. This is gazebo.

mean, I probably mentioned it before. I just don't LIKE bugs, and smug is the worst.

A few notes about e-mailed personals:
You may submit personal ads, columns, spotlights, etc. electronically, either via e-
mail to ads at reality dot com (which doesn't need any more spam, thank you) or on
the web at http://www.reality.com/duel2/modules.php?name=Ads. When you submit
something, you should get back a receipt from HAL at RSI. If you do NOT get a
receipt, your ads may have gone astray (not all e-mail makes it to its destination
any more than all snail mail does). If you DO get a receipt, it should, in the body
of the message, tell you what arena your stuff was filed in. Check your receipt to
make sure your submission made it to the intended destination. Also check to see
that everything you sent made it to the same place. Sometimes HAL, who is rather
simple-minded in some ways, will send half your stuff to another arena if the name
or number of that arena shows up at the beginning of a line. So if the word Ti
appears at the beginning of a line halfway through your ads, all the ads after that
may end up in Ti, which is closed and doesn't need ads. As a side note, sometimes
things move slowly, so don't wait until the last minute to send your ads and all.
