WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT
The Caesar Chronicles:
Observations from the Pinnacle of Greatness
A Day in the Life of an Arvat Legend...
The thunder of chariot wheels was deafening as Caesar and his entourage rode
triumphantly through the perfectly paved stoned avenues of Arvat's central Coliseum
District, home of powerful guildhouse's and an ancient history of legendary combat.
The rogue city-state and Brotherhood of the Blade stronghold was feared by many
throughout the realm. Arvat, bastion of Free Blades power and scourge of the East,
now immensely wealthy after all of these long years. A city where men recognized
that in the end, there are only women, gold and steel. As the chariot procession
made its way through the crowded thoroughfare, under the shadow of the towering
Temple of Caesar, past adulating crowds and women trying to throw themselves before
Caesar and amongst the sea of falling rose petals, Caesar looked out at the teeming
throngs and waved to his subjects. With Caesar were his henchmen, the old men of
Arvat, seasoned Primus veterans Darius the Great and Trebonius the Magnificent. El
Magnifico! The procession thundered through the streets of the renegade and lawless
Free Blades city. A city of strongblades, despicable deeds and unpredictability in
its actions. Several powerful land barons and wealthy guildhouse owners controlled a
corrupt city government, leaving the city largely under their sway.
Among the homes of the elite and before the massive doors of the Roman
Guildhouse, Caesar and his men departed, gave one final wave to the rabble and
entered the lavish headquarters of one of Arvat's most villainous enterprises.
Smiling, bowing Coolie servants quickly greeted the men, took their cloaks and
brought fresh beers to the three, one of Caesar's favorites--Ayinger Altbairisch
Dunkel. They quickly moved into one of their favorite billiard rooms. But the
Meucci Original cues remained idle of their racks and balls silent upon the Brunswick
Gold tables. This was no joking matter; the men had serious business to discuss.
The three sipped their beers, weary from the long journey back to their dark citadel.
"Sire, it is true." stated Trebonius. "I was on the Isle and in attendance
during Free Blades 508th Games. I heard it with my own ears."
"So this Banthius has publicly called us out?" asked Caesar, a look of
astonishment on his face. "And for what?!?!"
"For Down Challenges", chuckled Darius. All three men erupted in laughter.
"What other kind of challenger is there?" smirked Trebonius. Again, the three
burst out laughing.
"It is all about winning and at all costs, El Magnifico. Don't ever forget
that." stated Caesar. "And didn't the Lady place this in the gladiatorial rules for
a reason? As a matter of fact, the games were built on Down Challenges!"
"There have also been rumblings in other areas of Alastari regarding the
application of Down Challenges." stated Darius. "Seems the weak hearted have come
forth to whine once again..."
"What is the big deal? Don't they have Avoids and Challenges of their own? Are
we to be blamed because other managers are not paying attention, leaving us a great
opportunity to capitalize on their weakness? And who is this Banthius to call us
out? Us! A Free Blade founding guildhouse!!!" exclaimed Caesar, his blood boiling.
"We were here on Turn 1. Where was this Banthius?"
Later that day, on the sprawling grounds of Caesar's Country Club, on the
outskirts of Arvat and amongst the many Roman holdings, Caesar and his lieutenants
approached a well fortified green, defended on all sides by deep bunkers, its flag
billowing in the light breeze of a typical warm Arvat afternoon. The three were some
fifty yards from the pin, on either the short of secondary cut of grass. Caesar
gripped his spin milled Titleist Vokey 58 degree wedge. He eyed the perfectly
manicured green cautiously, keenly aware of the slope involved. With a swing
reminiscent of a golf deity, Caesar let loose on his Callaway Tour Ix ball. The ball
sailed skyward, gaining altitude by the second as it reached for the heavens. The
three, and their caddies, watched the ball with baited breath as time seemed to have
stood still. The ball came crashing back to the ground, landing on the green
slightly higher than the cup. But wait, a well played backspin sent the ball in
reverse and right into the hole. The three men shouted their approval!
"Great shot, sire!" exclaimed Trebonius the Magnificent.
Caesar smiled and turned the wedge over to his caddy, a strapping young coolie
with a broad, buck toothed grin. The caddy quickly cleaned the club and returned it
to Caesar's bag.
"Have you thought about this Banthius situation? What shall be our response,
sire?" asked Darius.
"We shall give this Banthius a lesson in Down Challenges!" exclaimed Caesar.
"Let us test his mettle. Perhaps he will run, screaming in sheer terror, back to
Home Guard. Return to Free Blades and green light our legions!"

Andorak:
----------
Minute 11021: Manager sipped his mai-tai atop his lounge chair in one of the
managers; suites in the arena. It was another perfect turn in Andorak. The sun was
shining, the competition sparse, and another glorious scum-fest was taking place.
"See the way that warrior has his wrist turned the wrong way?" Manager talked
aloud to no one in particular, "That's costing him extra energy and he's going to
tire in around minute 22,000. Tsk."
Suddenly the door barged open. In walked Armalias Skyhawk, ready for battle and
donning the emblem of the Scarlet Knights. "Come," he said, his voice taking an
unusually serious tone, "We must go."
Free Blades:
------------
The Dark One and Aragorn watched the fights from one of the overhanging walkways in
the arena. Dozens of black birds circled overhead, carrying pieces of parchment in
their beaks.
"It looks like those birds are delivering messages," said Aragorn.
"Ravens. Some say they are messengers of death," noted the Dark One.
Two of the black birds broke from formation and headed towards the two managers.
They dropped their parchments at the feet of the two managers.
"Papyrus," mused the Dark One, "also a symbol of death."
"Really?" asked Aragorn somewhat hesitant to open his parchment, "I wonder
what's going on."
"No. Just kidding," the Dark One teased as he opened his note. "It says we're
supposed to meet at the managers' convention hall near the center of the Isle of the
Eye."
"Curious," mused Aragorn.
Darkholm:
---------
"Hey are there any more of TMM's muffins?" asked a famished Desiree as she jotted
down notes for the spy report from the manager's lounge.
"No time for muffins, sorry!" replied TUM has he hurriedly packed his bag.
"What's going on? They're not re-running the fights, are they?" asked the spy
reporter.
"It looks like all ADM managers are being summoned to the Isle of the Eye," said
TUM. "This must be something big."
Home Guard:
------------
"Whoa, all of the managers of ADM were invited and they asked us Home Guard folks to
attend?" asked the Mun.
"I hear the last time this happened, it was because they were looking for
volunteers to go into the gate and help in the invasion of Gateway. Most of the Home
Guard warriors were killed," noted One Armed Bandit.
"Well, if there is danger, then it's up to the managers and warriors of the
Guard to answer," pointed out the Mun.
"Yeah, they might need cannon fodder in the front lines again...."
Managers' Convention Center, the Isle of the Eye (The next day):
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The managers of the various Advanced Duelmasters arenas quickly descended upon the
Isle's convention center, which hadn't been used for a managerial gathering in many
years. Conversation quickly turned to the reason upon which they had been rapidly
summoned.
"Do you think it's another Rirorni invasion?" asked Tripwire.
"Doubtful," said Le Pentarque, "it's been quiet on that front for years."
"Maybe the Gateway monsters are back!" said Slugbait.
"The magical seals we put in place don't appear to be broken," said the Dark
One. "Although it could be a totally different dimension invading us this time."
"As long as the tournament isn't cancelled, I can live with it," said Guardian.
"Wait. Don't you guys notice something weird about this place?" pointed out
Jekyll. "This room has been decorated. Festively."
The managers of the isle began to look around. The room did seem to be brightly
decorated, although not extravagantly so. Colorful draperies had been hung on the
walls and streamers and balloons were all over the room as well.
"Oh no," groaned Crip, "don't tell me that Soultaker has conned us all into
attending another one of his surprise birthday parties for himself again."
"Gah," moaned Mannequin, "that's two years in a row he's got us now!"
All of the managers sighed and started to head out of the convention center,
when suddenly a commission scribe appeared on stage.
"Stop!" said the scribe, "this isn't another Soultaker surprise party!"
"It's not?" asked Papa Bear. "Then what's with all the decorations?"
"This actually is a party, but not for the reason you think," said the scribe.
With a wave of his arm, a banner suddenly dropped down from behind the stage to the
gasp of many of the managers in attendance. It read: "CELEBRATING THE RETURN OF THE
ADM REGIONAL TOURNAMENT!"
"Wow, it's been so long since the last one," said Crip.
"Indeed," said the scribe. "The Lady of the Isle of the Eye has noted that in
this time of peace, all of you managers have grown soft. You sit around talking shop
in the regional ADM arenas while prepping for the next tournament. So if it's a
tournament you want, it's a tournament you shall have--but one you will have to fight
you way in. And if you are able to fight your way through your comrades and earn
your spot on the team, you will have to duel it out with all of the other regionals'
best too. We will be sending a rules pamphlet to each of your guild houses."
"Can I mention that I'm the defending champion of the last ADM Regional
tournament?" said Mannequin.
"Don't even start," replied Manager. "It doesn't count if it took place before
the first TOGS competition. Besides, you can't win. Andorak is going to win."
"Everyone knows the best and most deep region is Darkholm," said The Muffin Man.
"We have legions of managers who we can call on at any moment that can win this
thing."
"Not me," said Guardian, "I play for Free Blades."
"Don't forget the Slow arena managers," said Fandil of the Consortium Elders.
"The only reason Crysalis has never won before was because we weren't allowed to
compete. This time we are unified and we will put together a team."
"If you were any good, you'd run in a fast arena," quipped Manager
"If any of you were any good, you'd run in Darkholm," retorted the Muffin Man.
The room erupted vociferously in argument as the managers of ADM began to argue
in favor of their home regions.
Suddenly, One Armed Bandit streaked naked across the room. "Home Guard
Rulez!!!" he yelled as a couple of security guards quickly teleported in and started
chasing him.
From the top of her tower, Sheila Greywand watched the managers' argue amongst
themselves and smirked.
Regional Tournament FAQ:
==========================
The next ADM Regional Tournament will be held the Week of September 20th, 2009.
Q: What is the ADM Regional Tournament?
A: The ADM Regional Tournament is a competition where the best and brightest
warriors from the ADM regionals compete to for bragging rights and to see which one
is the best!
Q: How does it work?
A: During the week of September 19th, each Regional Team will be temporarily moved
to Lirin Kiv where they will battle it out in a single elimination tournament with
the last warrior standing winning for his region. (Learns, Skills, and FE gained
during the contest will NOT count)
Q: How are teams determined?
A: There are 11 automatic berths given out to each team. The Duelmaster and each of
the 10 Stylemasters at the end of the following turns will be awarded automatic
entry:
Andorak: Turn 513 (due 9/5)
Free Blades: Turn 514 (due 8/26)
Darkholm: Turn 513 (due 8/28)
Home Guard: Turn 514 (due 9/1)
Crysalis: Turn 212 (due 9/7)
To qualify for a Stylemaster position, you must have been active in the arena in 3 of
the prior 4 turns including the last one. (Thus, you'll want to activate any
inactive warriors who you want to try and qualify by Mid-July sometime, but
immediately for Crysalis.)
In addition, each region will be allowed to select 2 wildcard entrants. Wildcard
entrants are generally selected based on regional votes, but the regional team
captain may decide at his discretion. There will be a turn break in most of the
regionals after the slots have been decided but before the regional tourney begins in
order to vote, if necessary.
Each manager may only play for 1 region and qualify no more than 2 warriors on a
regional team. It's quite possible that based on activity, that certain regions may
not be able to field a full team.
Also, because they are hosting the competition, Lirin Kiv has been given a select
amount of wildcard berths. Managers and warriors who are still loyal to Lirin Kiv
may email/diplo the Lirin Kiv regional coordinator to inquire how to get onto the
team. (Lirith Kai citizenship/immigration required)
Q: What's a regional coordinator?
A: The Regional Coordinator is the unofficial "team captain" so to speak. They are
the ones who are in charge of putting together teams based on the rules, and trying
to make sure everyone is included and disputes are handled. (Say, someone qualifies
more than 2 warriors, the regional coordinator will get with that manager and find
out which ones are in or out and notify replacements, etc.)
The regional coordinators are: Manager (Andorak), The Muffin Man (Darkholm), The
Dark One (Free Blades), Crip (Crysalis), Jorja (Lirith Kai), One Armed Bandit (Home
Guard). If you need to contact them, you can write a personal ad in the ADM arena,
or send a diplo to them at:
Manager: Superior Forces in DM 105
The Dark One: Angels of Pain in DM 103
The Muffin Man: Wasteland in DM 104
One Armed Bandit: Sea Dogs in DM 101
Crip: Royal Flush in DM 106
Jorja: Sand Dancers in DM 65
Q: What does happen if someone qualifies more than 2 warriors?
A: That manager will be able to decide which two to send and the next highest
qualifying warrior will be able to take the place of the warrior that doesn't get
sent if it's an automatic spot.
Q: What if my warriors are not an ADM regional? (Or in the wrong one?)
A: If your warriors are in 100 (or in the wrong region), for a limited time only you
can put in a request to customer service to move to the proper regional. Mention
that your warrior wants to try and compete in the regional tourney. (Your warrior
must have been qualified for that region as of the last split)
Q: Is there a prize?
A: Bragging rights!
If there are any other questions, send a diplo to Manager or ask them in the personal
ad section of the arena. Thanks!

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
It's hot. I don't mind hot, if I've got a beach and a drink with an umbrella in
it. But I don't. Just hot. And, you know, fields. Sure, we need this stuff. It
ends up being food. But I don't like it.
Still, we have fights. It must be the weather. It makes me want to fight with
somebody. Anyway, we had twenty-nine fights, but there were eight standbys, so that
wasn't so great. Nine challenges, one of them TV and the rest radio.
Ain Goblinbane, who was Lord Marshall this time, took the day off and lost the
title. Was it a hangover, or the siren call of some beach?
Inconsistent Fury was Most Avoided by Fields of Elysium.
Jeo the Songsmith "got more challenges than the Lord Marshall." Whoopee. Of
course, Ain might have gotten some, but I don't think the clerks are talking about
Ain when they say that. They don't have much in the way of memory, you know. Only
what's in front of them. Well, except for the ones with eyes in the back of their
heads, and they only see what's behind them. Not rounded. But I guess SHE likes
them that way.
WEE MAN (19-5071) (15-13-0,56) of CUNNING RUNTS fought JOHN TYLER (5-4420) (28-
8-0,77) of I'M HISTORY. WEE MAN lost to JOHN TYLER in a 4 minute fray. Does this
mean that Wee Man is history now, too?
JEREMY CAMP (43-4626) (15-7-0,73) of POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE fought BITTER ALMOND
(103-41) (14-16-4,50) of the College of Mimes. JEREMY CAMP viciously subdued BITTER
ALMOND in a popular 2 minute gory bout. Well, okay, I can see winning, but
"viciously subdued"? If this is your positive alternative, I guess to losing, well,
I'll take a drink with... fruit in it. Lots of fruit. Full of vitamins.
KRYSTAL MEYERS (43-4635) (18-4-0,69) of POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE fought BITTER
ALMOND (103-41) (14-16-4,50) of the College of Mimes. KRYSTAL MEYERS handily
defeated BITTER ALMOND in a 1 minute mismatched bout. At least Krystal was, you
know, more polite.
HAWK NELSON (43-4636) (19-2-0,59) of POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE fought BITTER ALMOND
(103-41) (14-16-4,50) of the College of Mimes. HAWK NELSON vanquished BITTER ALMOND
in a 1 minute one-sided fray. Well, you have to wonder what Bitter Almond did to
annoy the handicapper!
DOOMSDAY DEVICE (65-4854) (21-23-0,67) of REIGNING DOOM fought BITTER ALMOND
(103-41) (14-16-4,50) of the College of Mimes. DOOMSDAY DEVICE overpowered BITTER
ALMOND in an action packed 1 minute one-sided bout. Four losses in a row for Biter
Almond. That's enough to make just about anyone bitter. Do NOT sit near Bitter
Almond when you go to the Red Sands tonight. Not anywhere near.
SUPERCHICK (96-2999) (6-7-3,46) of KEYS 2 THE KINGDOM fought FALLING ROCK (29-
4286) (30-53-0,57) of CARDOW HUNTERS. SUPERCHICK was overpowered by FALLING ROCK in
a 1 minute uneven fight. Yes, well, I hear that Falling Rock was saying that it was
fun while it lasted. Which wasn't long. But it looked to me like he got hit on the
head, so maybe he isn't remembering straight. Still, why shatter his illusions?
Take him some flowers in the Infirmary, Superchick.
DARKNESS ABOVE (65-4856) (22-12-0,94) of REIGNING DOOM fought ANTONIUS (19-5063)
(19-11-0,81) of IDES OF MARCH. DARKNESS ABOVE was demolished by ANTONIUS in an
action packed 1 minute one-sided fight. I don't know, this sounds like it has some
kind of astronomological significance, and I don't do that kind of stuff. You'll
have to figure it out for yourself, or else ask Madame Zara.
FREDERICK DOUGLASS (5-4424) (20-6-1,93) of I'M HISTORY fought XHUGHA KARGARIT
(103-38) (32-28-1,130) of the College of Mimes. FREDERICK DOUGLASS vanquished XHUGHA
KARGARIT in a popular 1 minute mismatched fray. But at least it wasn't Bitter
Almond. Small favors, you know? You take them where you find them and don't count
the teeth.
ALE'CHAI TALLSKY (35-4026) (25-2-0,143) of PHILANTHROPISTS fought DICKY V GOES
POSTAL (11-6940) (14-9-1,100) of ARMED & GREGARIOUS. ALE'CHAI TALLSKY was
slaughtered by DICKY V GOES POSTAL in a 1 minute one-sided match. Well, I did say it
was hot. This is what happens when it gets hot. People go postal. People get
killed.
SHEN (65-4973) (22-11-0,102) of BATTLE SCHOOL fought ROSELLA (103-39) (26-25-
0,100) of the College of Mimes. SHEN bested ROSELLA in a popular 5 minute bout.
Just playing around, most of the time.
*LEATHER* (65-3336) (31-26-3,174) of LITTLE EARTHQUAKES fought DREHVIN (103-34)
(75-45-7,200) of the College of Mimes. *LEATHER* defeated DREHVIN in a crowd
pleasing 1 minute conflict. I don't like those little stars, they keep making me
want to look for, well, footnotes or something, and I don't even find a toe. Well,
once a toe, with blue nail polish on it. Weird. But toes are like that.
SEKHAT (7-2251) (30-42-2,166) of CASTAWAYS fought VELOXI (38-4233) (16-6-0,128)
of BLENDING ENTHRONED. SEKHAT overpowered VELOXI in a 1 minute one-sided bout. Huh.
They're both strange, and I don't want to talk about them.
JADRA (61-3379) (26-14-1,206) of PHILANTHROPISTS fought BLACK WOLF (29-4194)
(47-45-1,174) of CARDOW HUNTERS. JADRA devastated BLACK WOLF in an exciting 1 minute
one-sided fight. So much for Black Wolf having a winning record, hmm? Not gone
TODAY, but you can see the end coming.
COMRADE KOOK (12-6339) (47-46-2,194) of CULTS-R-US fought NIGHTCAP (74-2745)
(151-124-0,192) of DARKLINGS. COMRADE KOOK was handily defeated by NIGHTCAP in a 1
minute mismatched bout. Gee, do you suppose the experience difference has something
to do with this?
GOLEM (35-1485) (80-54-1,208) of THE PHILANTHROPISTS fought KOOKABURRA (33-4151)
(103-143-4,168) of GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. GOLEM overpowered KOOKABURRA in a 1 minute
uneven struggle. Golems... I don't like golems all that much, you know. They go
"click" and "whirr" and they don't understand about tanning and beaches.
THE QUICKLING (70-1669) (89-205-3,189) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought ENLIGHTENED
BEING (26-4642) (33-17-0,174) of PHILANTHROPISTS. THE QUICKLING was handily defeated
by ENLIGHTENED BEING in a 1 minute conflict. This looks good to me. I'm sure that
defeating the Quickling is a very enlightened act.
ALIX (74-2701) (29-21-0,202) of CHEYSULI & LIR fought ALDALDON (56-3913) (28-16-
1,180) of PHILANTHROPISTS. ALIX subdued ALDALDON in a popular 3 minute brawl. You
know, I used to wonder when I heard about people "coming out of the woodwork." But
these days, I figure, where ELSE could they be coming from? But it sure messes up
the woodwork.
NORMANDY (65-4916) (24-25-3,203) of DOOMSDAY4DOOMCORPS fought NATAS (11-6531)
(37-22-0,193) of DO IT AGAIN. NORMANDY was viciously subdued by NATAS in a crowd
pleasing 4 minute brutal conflict. Oh, "viciously." It was weird, but for a minute
there I thought it said "visibly." And I wondered, like, do we have invisible
subduction? Except for tectonics, of course.
GOSSAMER (35-3656) (53-42-1,218) of PHILANTHROPISTS 2 fought SUPERIOR FORCES
(33-4543) (119-172-3,200) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. GOSSAMER was handily defeated by
SUPERIOR FORCES in a 2 minute one-sided bout. Twice. Once in each minute. This is
just the way these Dup Reduns do it.
CLAUDIUS (13-2860) (73-52-2,223) of I, CLAUDIUS fought ARUNDA ROCKTROLL (103-35)
(60-40-2,190) of the College of Mimes. CLAUDIUS viciously subdued ARUNDA ROCKTROLL
in a popular 2 minute brutal fight. And also visibly. In case you wondered.
The challenges:
QUINTUS (17-6913) (15-6-3,55) of FIELDS OF ELYSIUM challenged PANE (35-3822)
(17-16-1,59) of LOST CAUSE. Up 4. QUINTUS was defeated by PANE in a 2 minute
Challenge duel. I knew a pane once, but it was velvet, and even with cold water it
was hard to get bloodstains out.
LUCRETIUS (32-4687) (26-11-3,101) of ROMAN HEROES challenged CEDAR (29-4319)
(29-38-2,120) of CARDOW HUNTERS. Up 19. LUCRETIUS lost to CEDAR in an action packed
4 minute Challenge duel. Four minutes is almost impressive. Well, think about it!
Even to keep GOING four minutes in this heat is impressive, and this fight was action
packed.
NYZEIL OGLATA (17-6753) (28-20-1,133) of PHILANTHROPISTS challenged JEO THE
SONGSMITH (1-3260) (45-85-0,145) of BLUE EYRIE. Up 12. NYZEIL OGLATA devastated JEO
THE SONGSMITH in a 2 minute Challenge competition. This is Jeo the Most Challenged
Songsmith, if you want to be, like, totally accurate here.
CORNELIUS (31-3485) (31-6-1,157) of CAESAR'S POOL HALL challenged STONETOOTH
(29-4560) (34-57-0,131) of CARDOW HUNTERS. Down 26. CORNELIUS overpowered
STONETOOTH in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge struggle. And who is, you know,
surprised?
JELIAH BIGABO (35-3676) (53-31-2,180) of PHILANTHROPISTS 3 challenged MAC (35-
2993) (59-49-0,186) of LOST CAUSE. Up 6. JELIAH BIGABO devastated MAC in a 1 minute
uneven Challenge brawl. Mac... like a burger? I could devastate a BIG Mac right
now. With cheese.
ARTEMIDORUS (17-6864) (47-8-1,174) of FIELDS OF ELYSIUM challenged TALL TREE
(29-4380) (25-72-0,127) of CARDOW HUNTERS. Down 47. ARTEMIDORUS overpowered TALL
TREE in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge fight. Yep, like the man said, fells tall
trees with a single blow.
DRIZZT (40-4146) (32-34-0,187) of PHILANTHROPISTS challenged CORT NIGHTJEWEL
(78-196) (113-141-0,228) of THE DRAGON FIST. Up 41, I think. DRIZZT was vanquished
by CORT NIGHTJEWEL in a 1 minute mismatched Challenge brawl. Too bad, but that's
what happens when you have a name that drips and dribbles.
DREAD (32-4666) (23-8-0,205) of ANGELS OF PAIN challenged SMUG BUG (55-2900)
(85-158-0,203) of RHYME TYME. Down 2. DREAD was demolished by SMUG BUG in a popular
1 minute one-sided Challenge melee. And the Bug SMIRKED. I hate that Bug.
For the title, because Ain Goblinbane was a no-show:
DEFIANCE (32-4619) (36-10-1,244) of ANGELS OF PAIN TV challenged MIMOSA (32-
4294) (29-21-1,247) of PHILANTHROPISTS. A congratulations on having the tv challenge
to use, Defiance. DEFIANCE devastated MIMOSA in a 1 minute mismatched Challenge
Title fight. And a congratulations on being Lord or as the case might be Lady
Marshall.

PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE
Mimosa -- It's unusual to see a male warrior named after a flower. You must be very
comfortable with your feminine side. -- Nightcap
Jadra -- Jurinese? That's what they call you people? Do you have a problem with
that? -- Sekhat
Kookaburra -- You should lay off the gumdrops. You might move a little quicker. --
Jeo the Songsmith
Cornelius -- Even I wasn't surprised. -- Stonetooth
Drizzt -- I'm curious about your name. I see it around the Isle, well, not a LOT,
but more than once, and it doesn't look or sound like a name that would be popular.
What's the draw? -- Black Wolf
Wonder Bubble -- Hmm, rose-scented. Not bad. -- Cedar
Ale'chai Tallsky -- Shouldn't a guy with a name like yours be taller? -- Tall Tree
Doomsday Device -- Ah, now YOU are someone for whom a name like "tallsky" would be
appropriate. But the name you have isn't bad, you loom very well. But you aren't a
device. Which is good, I get tired of golems. -- Falling Rock
P.S. The explosion was, um, startling, but I didn't REALLY turn into gravel. The
very idea! It was... meteorites!

SUMMER FACE-TO-FACE IN CLEVELAND!
Our summer FTF will be an eastern one this time, located in Cleveland, Ohio on July
17-19, 2009. It will be held at the Holiday Inn in Strongsville, OH, at 15471
Royalton Rd (440-238-8800). Rooms are only $95.00 per night, 1-2 occupancy.
There is a free shuttle from the airport, free parking, and free high-speed wireless
internet in all guestrooms ($3/day in public space). The hotel has an indoor pool,
pool table, and hockey, and a fitness center. The hotel is located 1/2 mile from the
largest mall in Northeast Ohio, with indoor minigolf and pottery painting, and right
next door to Iceland Arena, which offers open skate and skate rental. They also have
four bikes on property available for checkout, as the Metro parks are next door as
well. The rooms are blocked--ask for the "Reality Simulations" room block. There are
many restaurants and nightspots nearby and at the Mall, as well as a cafe in the
hotel.
The tournament information sheet will be out imminently. We hope you're all looking
forward to the tournament and that we will see you there!
