Reflections by the Lord-Marshall
Hello, Free Blades! I am Ale'chai Tallsky, your Lord Marshall and self-
proclaimed Lord of all Philanthropists who have come before me even though Aragorn
does not hide his doubts that I am not. Aragorn claims to not have time to write,
"Too busy" he says, whatever the lazy bum! I'd like to see him swing a sword, HA, he
can't even lift an Epee! What does he do in that office of his anyway? All the dust
and books, and quills, ink and parchment... what is he writing anyway? Obviously,
not a Lord Marshall column...
How can an elf be so funny, you ask? Elves have no sense of humor!
Explanation: I am only half-elf! The other half is human where I get my Epee
twirling sense of over-importance and humor, two traits that might seem odd together,
I know, but most comedians had a rough childhood or they were spoiled to death either
one...
Free Blades, you are shrinking! You know it's bad when Debbie T. won't even
bother to write a spy report! Yes, we did notice Debbie, but why must you do so when
I take the throne? I guess we'll have to write about ourselves to read about
ourselves. Additionally, you know it's bad when a Philanthropist takes the throne!
Here we are trying to give away wins like a philanthropist or Jorja, but no one is
taking? We admit, it's only a front, we do try to win all fights, there is some
crazy competitiveness in that Aragorn. Maybe, because people are always mistaking
him for THE Aragorn, son of Arathorn, the king of Gondor but NO! -- I'm the non-
famous Aragorn, the once crowned champion of all Free Blades. Actually, just call me
the Philanthropist, I'm tired of explaining that I'm not the king of Gondor, and
where is this place Gondor? Never been there, don't see it on any maps? Is there
some inside joke I'm not getting? Was the king of Gondor some big failure or
something?
Anyway, I'm sure my manager is not going to like this column since I'm not going
to give it to him to proofread for PR purposes like he requested. I do plan on
putting my challenge towards Nightcap and it better go through because I know
Nightcap is not challenging anyone and I've got a TV challenge! There were so many
options it was hard to decide but Nightcap leads in recognition and for some reason
hasn't moved on to Primus, so Nightcap probably gives me the biggest challenge.
However, soon I really need to fight Dread, Defiance, and Bionic Buffalo!! These
warriors deserve to know who is better between us and so do I?

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Okay, the Lord Marshal wrote a column and asked for a spy report. I have to do
one for him. He made an effort, I can do the same. So, this one's for you,
Ale'chai.
Superior Forces of Duplicate Redundancy had the biggest point gain, twenty-six
points.

Stump of Greenwardens had the biggest loss, twenty-one points, and nobody was
surprised at all.
Street Walkers was most avoided by Angels of Pain. That's weird, you'd think
they were, like, soul mates, you know?
Smug Bug got the most challenges, more even than the Lord Marshal. Nobody likes
someone who's smug.
We had seventeen fights, which is really not good, and four standbys on the
sand. And at that, we're better off than Home Guard. Not saying much, though.
Yeah, Ale'chai is right, we need a revival here. But people never believe that. I
mean, they didn't believe it when the Commission said that if there wasn't more
action in Lirin Kiv, they'd shut it down. But there wasn't more action, and they
shut it down. We don't want that here, really. As if!
So, anyway, back to the details of, you know, the day. Six of our fights were
challenges. That probably isn't a bad percentage, if you're into statistics, but who
wants to be into statistics. Boring.
Which means next we see the fights:
MOSSROCK (15-4871) (29-26-2,85) of GREENWARDENS fought ROSELLA (103-39) (26-25-
0,100) of the College of Mimes. MOSSROCK was viciously subdued by ROSELLA in an
exciting 6 minute bloody fray. Always good to keep the standbys happy, I guess. But
six minutes? BOTH of you guys can do better than that.
REDTHORN (15-4943) (21-13-0,81) of GREENWARDENS fought LUCIFREYJA (103-40) (19-
21-1,90) of the College of Mimes. REDTHORN was unbelievably bested by LUCIFREYJA in
a crowd pleasing 3 minute bout. I think the Greenwardens are actually clowns, you
know? Run around and look dumb, warm up the crowd, that kind of thing.
STUMP (15-4882) (24-40-0,100) of GREENWARDENS fought SAVORY (32-4143) (23-15-
1,65) of DEAD WE SUCK. STUMP was overcome by SAVORY in a popular 1 minute conflict.
Okay, it's a majorish sort of mismatch on points, and there's no telling how many
hidden fights Savory has, but still. Stump, with more points, was the one who LOST.
That is just totally dumb of him. Clowns, like I said.
WOODEN ARROW (15-4619) (25-15-0,111) of GREENWARDENS fought XHUGHA KARGARIT
(103-38) (32-28-1,130) of the College of Mimes. WOODEN ARROW demolished XHUGHA
KARGARIT in a 2 minute one-sided brawl. Okay. If you say so. I mean, I was doing
my nails, and I might have missed something. A good move or something.
JEO THE SONGSMITH (1-3260) (50-113-0,134) of BLUE EYRIE fought TREEFROG (15-
4177) (21-16-0,97) of GREENWARDENS. JEO THE SONGSMITH viciously subdued TREEFROG in
a crowd pleasing 3 minute conflict. It's been a while since I say and HEARD two
gladiators competing by yelling at each other. They call it singing. As if!
RAMPAGE (32-5076) (17-0-0,177) of ANGELS OF PAIN fought SEKHAT (7-2251) (38-67-
2,149) of CASTAWAYS. RAMPAGE overpowered SEKHAT in a 2 minute brutal one-sided
fight. Well, darn. I don't have anything against Rampage, mind you, but undefeated
records make me nervous. I mean, I wonder did he sell his soul to the devil for that
record, or what? It's unnatural.
THE QUICKLING (70-1669) (97-230-3,180) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought WHITEBRAID (15-
2110) (29-44-1,104) of GREENWARDENS. THE QUICKLING overpowered WHITEBRAID in a 1
minute uneven match. You know, we really have to get The Quickling out of here.
Over three hundred fights, and he's still in a regional? This guy should be, like,
lurking around the bottom of Primus.
KOOKABURRA (33-4151) (117-162-4,199) of GIRL SCOUT COOKIES fought MACHINE (56-
3795) (26-20-0,191) of DIRTIE. KOOKABURRA lost to MACHINE in a 2 minute fight. And
so should the Cookie. I mean, if they're going to force people out of the regular
arenas onto the Isle at fifty fights, or even at a hundred, well, they should force
'em into either Primus or, if they're totally puddy, into Home Guard after two or
three hundred, don't you think?
GIMME SOME SUGAR (19-4936) (37-29-0,181) of ARMY OF DARKNESS fought HATHU (103-
32) (5-1-0,250) of the College of Mimes. GIMME SOME SUGAR was viciously subdued by
HATHU in a popular 8 minute gruesome duel. Well, Hathu *is* tough.
NIGHTCAP (74-2745) (181-127-0,275) of DARKLINGS fought CORT NIGHTJEWEL (78-196)
(135-152-0,208) of THE DRAGON FIST. NIGHTCAP handily defeated CORT NIGHTJEWEL in a 1
minute uneven melee. Okay, this works. And they're both a couple of fossils,
anyway.
NYZEIL OGLATA (17-6753) (38-29-1,215) of PHILANTHROPISTS fought BILBO BAGGINNI
(9-5508) (23-5-0,188) of MIDDLE ITALY. NYZEIL OGLATA devastated BILBO BAGGINNI in a
1 minute one-sided competition. I thought Bilbo was in... oh, I guess I was thinking
of Bilbao. But that's almost the same. And maybe he should go there for, you know,
a vacation. Sit on a beach, have a drink with an umbrella in it.
The challenges:

(20-2660) (38-17-1,194) of PHILANTHROPISTS. Up 3. SISSY CHRISSY was overpowered by
FLY SWATTER in a 1 minute Challenge struggle. Does this mean Sissy is a fly?
DEFIANCE (32-4619) (58-21-1,200) of ANGELS OF PAIN challenged SUPERIOR FORCES
(33-4543) (139-185-3,198) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. Down 2. DEFIANCE was bested by
SUPERIOR FORCES in a 2 minute Challenge duel. I'm pretty sure there's something
clever to say in that, but I can't seem to think of it.
BIONIC BUFFALO (11-6570) (54-54-0,200) of DO IT AGAIN challenged WILD THANG!
(29-2393) (31-24-0,226) of STREET WALKERS. Up 26. BIONIC BUFFALO was defeated by
WILD THANG! in a 2 minute Challenge match. Will Wild Thang do it again, or not?
JADRA (61-3379) (35-24-1,208) of PHILANTHROPISTS challenged GAZELLE (56-3701)
(81-95-0,215) of REDHORSE. Up 7. JADRA vanquished GAZELLE in a popular 3 minute
mismatched Challenge brawl. This Gazelle isn't looking so good. Like maybe a lion
got him at a waterhole and he barely escaped.
DREAD (32-4666) (41-23-0,210) of ANGELS OF PAIN challenged SMUG BUG (55-2900)
(99-177-0,194) of RHYME TYME. Down 16. DREAD demolished SMUG BUG in a popular 1
minute one-sided Challenge melee. Smashed Bug. It's great.
