WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT
THE ADM REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
The next ADM Regional Tournament will be held in the months of October/November 2011
and will be contested in the regular arenas during the late Summer months.
Q: What is the ADM Regional Tournament?
A: The ADM Regional Tournament is a competition where the best and brightest warriors
from the ADM regionals compete for bragging rights and to see which region is the
best!
Q: How does it work?
A: During the month of October, the warriors of each Regional Team will be temporarily
moved to a special regional arena, where they will battle it out in a single
elimination tournament. The last warrior standing wins for his region. (Learns,
skills, and FE gained during the contest will not be permanent.)
Results will be posted online during the months of October/November.
Q: How are teams determined?
A: There are 10 warrior slots given out to each team. The 10 Stylemasters of each
regional arena during Saturday, October 15th will automatically qualify and be
selected.
To qualify for a Stylemaster position, you must have been active in the arena in 4
of the prior 6 turns including the last one (2 of the last 3 for Crysalis). (Thus,
you'll want to activate your warriors before the week of July 23rd, to be safe.)
Should a team not be able to qualify all 10 warriors, they may select wildcard
entrants to fill those empty slots. However, they must have at least 7 different
styles represented AND no more than 2 of any style. Should they not be able to
meet this criteria, their team will be filled with NPCs.
Each manager may only play for 1 region and may qualify no more than 3 warriors on
a regional team. They may play a 3rd warrior only if everyone else who wants to
participate already has 2 and/or there is no other option. A manager may not have
more than 1 warrior of the same style on the regional team.
Q: What's a Regional Coordinator?
A: The Regional Coordinator is the unofficial "team captain": They are in charge of
putting together their team based on the rules, trying to make sure everyone is
included and that any disputes are handled. (For instance, if someone qualifies
more than 2 warriors, the regional coordinator will work with that manager and
determine which warriors will participate on the team, and then notify
replacements, etc.)
The Regional Coordinators are: Manager (Andorak), Buri(Darkholm), The Dark One
(Free Blades), Crip (Crysalis), Master Darque (Unnamed No Tourney Arena), One Arm
Bandit (Home Guard). If you need to contact them, you can write a personal ad in
the ADM arena, or send a diplo to them at:
Manager: Superior Forces in DM 105
The Dark One: Angels of Pain in DM 103
Buri: Tackle Box in DM 104
One Arm Bandit: Sea Dogs in DM 101
Crip: Royal Flush in DM 106
Master Darque: Darque Ages in DM 81
Q: What does happen if someone qualifies more than 2 warriors?
A: That manager will be able to decide which 2 to send (or, if there are no other
options, the manager may send 3--see above) and the next highest qualifying warrior
will be able to take place of the warrior that doesn't get sent if it's an
automatic spot. It's definitely a good idea to communicate with your team
coordinator and fellow teammates. Remember, even though you are fighting for
qualification spots, you all still want to put together a competitive team! (All
of the captains treat this as an inclusive event so it's unlikely anyone will
completely get left out in the cold.)
Q: What if my warriors are not in ADM regional? Or, what if they are in the wrong
ADM regional?
A: If your warriors are in 100, or are in the wrong region, and they haven't fought
since the split, you can request to CSR to have them moved into the proper
regional arena.
Q: Is there a prize?
A: Bragging rights!

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
About half the managers and I don't know how many of the gladiators who SHOULD
be here are on the road to the tourney. Which is fine, a mountain vacation (it's
being held in Khalhums this year) is a great thing in the middle of the summer. But
some people stayed here and fought, and here's, like, a spy report about them.
Superior Forces (the gladiator, not the team) got the most points at thirty-one.
Stump lost the most at twenty.
Duplicate Redundancy was most avoided by Army of Darkness. Twice, at least.
It doesn't look like anybody was most challenged.
Nineteen fights and only one standby, which is better than I expected. Five
challenges, not so good, but at least there were some.
WHITEBRAID (15-2110) (33-61-1,76) of GREENWARDENS fought LUCIFREYJA (103-40)
(19-21-1,90) of the College of Mimes. WHITEBRAID was luckily beaten by LUCIFREYJA in
an action packed 2 minute brutal fight. Whose luck, huh? That's the only standby on
the sands today.
JEO THE SONGSMITH (1-3260) (57-127-0,100) of BLUE EYRIE fought BRAVO (96-3034)
(9-9-3,70) of PHONETIX. JEO THE SONGSMITH was luckily beaten by BRAVO in a 5 minute
mismatched fight. I think Jeo's on a streak. A losing streak. It happens.
SMUG BUG (55-2900) (108-189-0,170) of RHYME TYME fought REDTHORN (15-4943) (29-
26-0,128) of GREENWARDENS. SMUG BUG overpowered REDTHORN in an exciting 1 minute
brutal one-sided bout. Yeah, well, you know how it is with bugs. They chew on
plants. Don't ask me why!
SLEEPWALKER (74-2843) (52-106-1,158) of DARKLINGS fought KRYSTAL MEYERS (43-
4635) (29-14-0,144) of POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE. SLEEPWALKER was devastated by KRYSTAL
MEYERS in a 1 minute mismatched brawl. Honestly, I wish this guy would wake up
sometime!
SEKHAT (7-2251) (44-82-2,170) of CASTAWAYS fought WOODEN ARROW (15-4619) (32-29-
0,163) of GREENWARDENS. SEKHAT won victory over WOODEN ARROW in an exciting 1 minute
fray. So, I guess that means Wooden wasn't starting a winning streak last time.
S. MARY ROSE (78-2313) (59-71-1,166) of HABIT fought MOSSROCK (15-4871) (38-38-
2,106) of GREENWARDENS. S. MARY ROSE overpowered MOSSROCK in a 2 minute bloody one-
sided duel. I would have been surprised if this had gone the other way. I mean, I
like Mossrock, he's a quiet, solid kinda guy, but not exactly a go-getter.
SANDMAN (74-2896) (54-88-3,198) of DARKLINGS fought CONTROVERSY (64-3914) (40-
46-1,155) of UNDER DURESS. SANDMAN beat CONTROVERSY in a crowd pleasing 2 minute
conflict. Even the bookies weren't surprised, and sometimes I think they don't have
a single clue.
THE QUICKLING (70-1669) (102-246-3,182) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought REM (74-2853)
(87-67-0,192) of DARKLINGS. THE QUICKLING was demolished by REM in a 1 minute
mismatched match. Good! Almost 350 regular fights, and he's still HERE?
STUMP (15-4882) (29-56-0,185) of GREENWARDENS fought MACHINE (56-3795) (35-32-
0,151) of DIRTIE. STUMP was savagely defeated by MACHINE in a crowd pleasing 3
minute competition. I think it was one of those wood-chipping machines.
GARY M. REAPER (32-2502) (65-35-1,204) of DEVIL ADVOCATES fought ARGUMENT (64-
3915) (38-48-0,195) of UNDER DURESS. GARY M. REAPER overcame ARGUMENT in a popular 3
minute brutal bout. Well, you know, of COURSE.
RED BARON (33-1092) (56-55-3,205) of LUROCIANS II fought SAVORY (32-4143) (34-
25-1,177) of DEAD WE SUCK. RED BARON vanquished SAVORY in an exciting 1 minute one-
sided fight. How many of these "is anyone surprised" fights are we going to have?
Although I don't know how either of these guys stands for tourney fights. That no-
tourney Advanced arena is going to be great for spy reporters, at least if they don't
let 'em go tourneys after they graduate.
BILBO BAGGINNI (9-5508) (33-15-0,216) of MIDDLE ITALY fought SERGE (32-3549)
(43-40-0,189) of ASSORTED. BILBO BAGGINNI vanquished SERGE in an action packed 1
minute one-sided duel. I guess Serge was, um, out of assorts?
DANISH (74-2451) (77-32-0,306) of THE ALPHABET fought SUPERIOR FORCES (33-4543)
(158-187-3,225) of DUPLICATE REDUNDANCY. DANISH was savagely defeated by SUPERIOR
FORCES in an action packed 2 minute melee. Does this mean that Superior Forces may
become our Lord Marshall again soon? He's climbing fast.
The challenges:
KING COREY (43-4620) (24-14-1,99) of LUROCIAN ROYALTY challenged REPUGNANT (97-
3677) (14-7-4,94) of SONS OF SATAN. Down 5. KING COREY was devastated by REPUGNANT
in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge duel. And Corey was repugged, too.
FLESH RIPPER (74-3375) (20-12-1,101) of LUROCIANS XI challenged TREEFROG (15-
4177) (28-30-0,125) of GREENWARDENS. Up 24. FLESH RIPPER overpowered TREEFROG in a
1 minute one-sided Challenge fight. So much for Treefrogs high hopes.
LORD FIREFLASH (33-2966) (49-49-0,188) of LUROCIANS II challenged GAZELLE (56-
3701) (95-102-0,190) of REDHORSE. Up 2. LORD FIREFLASH was vanquished by GAZELLE in
a 2 minute mismatched Challenge brawl. It isn't gazelle season anyway, Fireflash.
MARTIN BLANK (82-28434) (30-6-0,201) of BLOOD TITANS challenged JOHN TYLER (5-
4420) (44-13-0,208) of I'M HISTORY. Up 7. MARTIN BLANK was outlasted by JOHN TYLER
in an exciting 14 minute gory Challenge melee. It's hard to stay excited for
fourteen minutes, you know? It's, well, kind of like getting excited watching your
nail polish dry.
LADY EMILY (33-6626) (40-32-1,201) of LUROCIANS II challenged KOOKABURRA (33-
4151) (129-171-5,200) of GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. Down 1. LADY EMILY was devastated by
KOOKABURRA in a 1 minute mismatched Challenge fight. Wrong kind of cookies.
For the title:
GIMME SOME SUGAR (19-4936) (49-37-0,235) of ARMY OF DARKNESS fought NIGHTCAP
(74-2745) (198-131-0,274) of DARKLINGS. GIMME SOME SUGAR was viciously subdued by
NIGHTCAP in a 3 minute Title match. This isn't a surprise, but the timing is bad.
Nightcap's manager just went on vacation, and we may not get a column out of this.
Oh, well.

John Tyler -- What a horrible matchup for you. I guess older veterans like me
shouldn't still be in this arena. But I don't FEEL old and I don't WANT to go to
Primus. Maybe I should go out and do feats of heroic do-gooding. Or find some
trouble to get into. I dunno. Anyway, sorry. -- Nightcap
P.S. Change your train.
Superior Forces -- Nice one. Change your train. -- Gazelle
S. Mary Rose -- Wow. The announcer called you an Orcish Adantri. I guess you're an
immigrant to Lin Tirian then? -- Rem
Scapa -- Did I scum you? I didn't, did I? No, it was just that you're so darned...
young... oh Mantor, am I old now? -- Sandman
The Quickling -- Ow. Ow. Ow. I broke your weapon, but you were just as good with
that very different one you had as a backup. It was a great fight, wasn't it? --
Sekhat
Savory -- Think I'll be walking funny for a while. Nice fight though. On your part.
-- Sleepwalker
Treefrog -- For you, no song. I think you may have covered yourself with... with...
frog goo to make my blade slide off you. It seems as though it should be illegal.
Among my people, it certainly would be. -- Jeo the Songsmith
The Greek Guy -- I congratulate you. Doing well with a parry-strike isn't easy. --
Jorja
Jeo the Songsmith -- This is a real treat for me. Too often, birds eat frogs. This
time, the frog eats the bird. Not that I'm actually a frog. -- Treefrog
P.S. Or you're really a bird. But it's the principle of the thing.
Krystal Meyers -- I can hardly believe I won, but if I truly did, you just made my
month. -- Wooden Arrow
Controversy -- Eh. Never did like that stuff. I'd rather just sit and wait for
things to settle down. -- Mossrock
Repugnant -- You're well-named. -- Whitebraid
Flesh Ripper -- I did enjoy that one. And rare as victories are, I'm going to savor
it while I've got it. -- Redthorn
Gary M. Reaper -- Challenging dead trees, isn't that what the spy reporters say? --
