Reflections by the Keeper of the Runeblade
Hello, Darkholm!
Not much time today, so I will be brief. To Desiree I ask how exactly is the warrior
with the most recognition points supposed to make an up challenge? Secondly, why am
I reading the word "Andorian" in a newsletter in Darkholm? Finally, what challenge
system is more "honorable" then offering to TV anyone who asks and avoiding no one?

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Someone's been poisoning lightning pigeons on the Isle. Probably the Andorians.
No, they wouldn't do it, they'd wrap the pigeons in cotton wool and the damned birds
would die because they couldn't get off the ground. It must be the Karnhorns.
They'd do anything. Anyway, Desiree (not her real name) was up all night with a sick
pigeon, and it died at daybreak, and she's too heartbroken to write for you besides
having no way to get her spy report to the office, so I, ah, am doing the "gallant"
thing--more of the expedient, really--and covering for her. NOBODY wants the Old Bat
up in the Tower getting annoyed these days.
So let's see what we've got, here on the eve of the summer tourney.
Olaf Modeen trying to do a spy report in golem form. Bah. Worthless. I don't
know why a golem (and of a dead man, besides) requires medication, but the scribes in
the office never seem to get it right.
Thundr + Litening was most avoided by Cementia. So what is this "cementia"
stuff? Really crazy plaster?
Maginot Mike appears to have gotten the most challenges, although the golem
didn't come right out and say so. I hate it when golems hint. They just don't do it
right.
Thirty-eight fights of which seven were challenge matches. The Keeper of the
Runeblade posted a TV challenge. Good work there. Five standbys, unless one slipped
in under false pretenses. Not so good. Sure, they need the workout, they're all
bums, but we need more REAL warriors. Nobody died, which will disappoint the absent
regular spy.

4193) (25-81-2,73) of JUST BECAUSE. Down 8. STRAFE handily defeated WORK IN
PROGRESS in a 1 minute uneven Challenge melee. That Work is not Progressing very
fast, is it?
BOZO (42-4016) (22-38-0,55) of CLOWNING AROUND challenged MAGINOT MIKE (4-4509)
(61-88-1,100) of DOGS OF WAR. Up 45. Well, Bozo's a clown, so what can you expect?
BOZO was devastated by MAGINOT MIKE in a 1 minute mismatched Challenge match. Again,
what can you expect, eh?
SMUNCH (18-8337) (17-2-0,82) of THUNDR + LITENING challenged SUIGENERIS (21-
5545) (14-5-1,67) of THE NATURALS XI. Down 15. SMUNCH bested SUIGENERIS in a
popular 2 minute Challenge duel. Being one of a kind on the Isle of Sunset is not
quite the same as being one of a kind on the Isle of the Eye, so you'd better
practice harder, Suigeneris.
GOKU (7-5628) (22-5-0,164) of WASTELAND II challenged DOC STEELE (18-6010) (66-
128-6,179) of ARROGANCE. Up 15. GOKU overpowered DOC STEELE in a crowd pleasing 1
minute one-sided Challenge fight. So much for the effects of arrogance, eh?
NUMBERED WON (18-7434) (34-43-0,197) of NEXT GENERATION challenged MAHI MAHI
(18-4899) (115-72-1,253) of BIG MEAN FISH. Up some ridiculous amount, hmm, 56, I
believe. NUMBERED WON was vanquished by MAHI MAHI in a 1 minute mismatched Challenge
brawl. Is anyone surprised?
SULTAN (10-4516) (38-13-1,247) of SIR AGLIO challenged COOLER (82-7277) (47-38-
1,212) of STYROFOAM. Down 35. SULTAN handily defeated COOLER in a 1 minute one-
sided Challenge match. I had a styrofoam cooler once, I kept beer in it. But a
golem ate it, and good riddance. Things came out of it tasting... odd.
And for possession of the Runeblade: WIGGLER (18-8088) (35-6-1,340) of THUNDR +
LITENING TV challenged ONE A DAY (98-799) (35-30-3,211) of MY DRUGS. Down 139.
WIGGLER devastated ONE A DAY in a 2 minute mismatched Challenge Title fight. A match
