Hi!
There isn't any continuation of the adventure this turn. I'm very sorry. I was
away from the Isle and quite busy for most of the fortnight. After the long trip
home, I'm very tired. However, next cycle I promise I will commit to paper more of
what happened to Wiggler and Gringold.
Poor Grin had a bit of trauma in the arena this time around, too. Ouch!
GRINGOLD (7-2416) (38-53-2,201) of SEA DOGS challenged HE HATE ME (18-7820) (42-47-
2,199) of WASTELAND. GRINGOLD was vanquished by HE HATE ME in a 1 minute mismatched
Challenge brawl. Despite being a piffling two-point down-challenge, I think it was a
brave challenge to a warrior with a better record. Good try!
It seemed a bad day for Sea Dogs, as Sushi Slinger TV challenged and lost, as
well! SUSHI SLINGER (96-1399) (17-10-3,201) of SEA DOGS TV challenged CREDIT LINE
(82-1366) (27-32-0,192) of WOMEN LOVE ME FOR MY. SUSHI SLINGER was handily defeated
by CREDIT LINE in a 1 minute Challenge match.
Maginot Mike was our most challenged warrior. HAILSTORM (7-5698) (24-9-0,113)
of WASTELAND II challenged MAGINOT MIKE (4-4509) (68-102-2,149) of DOGS OF WAR.
HAILSTORM devastated MAGINOT MIKE in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge duel. Hmm. This
was clearly an attempt to get Mike to teach a few skills. You know, in a longer
fight one tends to learn more. You might try to drag it out a bit next time,
Hailstorm. Oh, and you ought to ask your manager for a gender. To get to the Isle
with no party-bits is simply wrong.
No one avoided anyone. You should, you know. It isn't a sign of cowardice.
It's just a means of making one's own challenges a little more likely to go through.
The Runeblade was awarded to the winner of a fight selected from the Grand
Challenger Champions by the Commission. This was because Bob, Eternal didn't fight
this turn (or write a column!). He may have been inducted. Does anyone know? I do
ask for information of this sort, but I think the Commission clerks have me on their
"ignore" list. So, our other TV challenge this turn resulted in a new Keeper of the
Runeblade. STRAFE (82-11158) (48-18-0,256) of BLACK PRIMERS TV challenged BRICKTOP
(18-7955) (43-32-0,201) of WASTELAND. STRAFE devastated BRICKTOP in a 2 minute
mismatched Challenge Title fight. That was fairly well done, Strafe. It wasn't what
I would call a breathtakingly bold challenge, but at least Bricktop does have a
winning record and a lot more fights than you. Lasted long enough to teach you
something, too. And the crowd likes fights that are 2-3 minutes long. So, Strafe is
now our top Wall of Steel warrior, which I must say is the sexiest style, and he made
the "ten most popular" list.
Of course, our MOST popular warrior is Crack is Cheap. I think it's rather
original to have a sentence as your arena name. Oh dear...this wasn't technically an
arena fight at all. CRACK IS CHEAP (82-18422) (39-38-0,198) of NEGATIVE CASH FLOW
fought LOCAL CONSTABLE (104-22) (0-0-0,181) of...seriously, the cops. CRACK IS CHEAP
savagely defeated LOCAL CONSTABLE in an exciting 3 minute gory match. I'm not sure
how this happened. From what I heard, Crack had been cleaning out his stable and so
he was wearing his oldest clothes. A man walked up to him and offered him some
money. Crack thought the man had mistaken him for a homeless person and was trying
to give him a gold coin, so he tried to explain that he was with the arena, pushing
the money away..."Man, Crack is Cheap, you know?" The person turned out to be an
undercover constable who immediately tried to arrest him. Thinking he was being
mugged, Crack then readied his manure scoop and...well, it wasn't pretty. And he's
in jail now until this all gets straightened out.
This was, I think, scum sympathy, although it wasn't a scummy fight at all. ONE
A DAY (98-799) (49-37-3,220) of MY DRUGS fought YUENGLING (82-16265) (29-16-1,224) of
LOCAL BEER. ONE A DAY won victory over YUENGLING in an action packed 4 minute
gruesome duel. The spectators voted Yuengling as this week's favorite. And One a
Day is our top Total Parry. Congratulations!
Vagabond, I do welcome you to Darkholm and I'm sure you'll do well. But
unfortunately you were voted this turn's least favorite warrior. The spectators
thought you looked inept on the sands. TURTLEFACE (7-5734) (16-4-0,63) of WASTELAND
II fought VAGABOND (4-6049) (12-5-1,42) of SEA DOGS. TURTLEFACE handily defeated
VAGABOND in a 1 minute mismatched fight. This is very typical of warriors just
starting out on the Isle, so don't worry about it.
That's all. Again I'm sorry about not recounting more of the adventure this
turn. I know it's been a couple or three turns.
Today's advice: When you think you are blocked, try going around, under, or
over. Or push harder. There are very few real blocks.

The 2006 Mordanti Alliance Olympics are off to a grand start! With seventeen teams
declared, running under eight different flags (not to mention six additional non-
Olympic teams present), it is looking to be as tough as any previous Olympiad, if not
more! Olympians petitioned the Commission to make an allowance for late entries, and
the Commission agreed, and will allow new entrants to partake, as long as they are
active by Round 3 (T546, due May 29th). So if you wish to enter, please email your
intentions to amicitia@gwi.net with team name, manager name, and affiliation
(alliance name or independent), or show up in Mordant (DM-1) on, or before, May 29th
