Reflections by the Keeper of the Runeblade
Two weeks have passed, and I hardly noticed, because we had ANOTHER Grand
Champion rainstorm, and the roof of the guildhouse leaked WORSE. And I must say that
it is carrying the "magical environment" TOO FAR when it rains--and leaks--Lake
Monsters. Can nothing be done about this?
A good effort, Slayer II, with a little more work, you may be able to take me
off this uncomfortable spot.

P.S. Although I tried to tell Jorja that it would be in line with our treaty with
the Nightlings that, if they did not do a column in Free Blades, I should not have to
do one here, she wasn't listening. And now that they've lost the title there, the
argument won't fly next time, if I still have this one. Life is hard.
REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Good morning! 'Tis the merry merry month of May! Finally. Was it just me, or
was it an extra long winter? Global cooling, anyone? Ah, the joys of small town
living.
Here in Willow Beach, there were no challenges, no avoids, and, I am pleased to
report, no deaths. With the brilliant sunshine and balmy air, it was a pleasant day.
Pleasant enough to put one to sleep. *stifles a yawn*
ELAYRON (51-1492) (100-64-0,260) of BLOOD + ORANGES fought TOLAIS DEEPHEART (42-
1620) (132-144-0,219) of HIGHLANDERS. ELAYRON bested TOLAIS DEEPHEART in a crowd
pleasing 2 minute gruesome Title fight. Crowd pleasing? Personally, I don't like to
see women get hacked up. Or men either. Or children, or animals. Unless the
animals are saber-toothed tigers that are attacking pregnant nuns, or something. At
least the lovely Ms. Deepheart is neither pregnant (I assume) or a nun. And she is
our top Wall of Steel as well. Anyway, Elayron is still our top Parry-Lunger as well
as being our Keeper of the Runeblade. Although he leaves it in the Commission's
vault instead of carrying it around.
Our highest-ranked Parry-Striker is Crysoprase, same as last time. CRYSOPRASE
(1-3266) (129-141-3,198) of ILLFANG PACT fought GAR & BRILL (38-4252) (87-158-1,166)
of JUST BECAUSE. CRYSOPRASE vanquished GAR & BRILL in a 1 minute mismatched fight.
Oddly, Crysoprase is our Overall Popularity Leader as well, which surprises me
because you never see her at parties.
Top Parry-Riposte is Jammy Larke. Again, same as last time. He seems to be the
only P-R in the arena. JAMMY LARKE (5-4926) (58-40-0,186) of THE MIDDLE WAY 5 fought
MARK (5-4088) (63-149-3,198) of JOHNS. JAMMY LARKE slimly won victory over MARK in a
crowd pleasing 3 minute gory brawl.
The very impressive Tashi'Sindar is our top-ranked Lunger. TASHI'SINDAR (1-
3249) (86-64-3,191) of STORM RIDERS II fought MIKEL (6-6190) (41-38-3,156) of THE
LADY'S LIST. TASHI'SINDAR overpowered MIKEL in a crowd pleasing 1 minute mismatched
match. Meh, that was a poor match, but then, if you want an advantageous match it's
your responsibility to challenge, isn't it?
Our best Total Parry is HIKARAN DAAL (1-2070) (88-98-1,198) of STORM RIDERS
fought ZAKAU (5-4623) (53-60-0,176) of JOHNS. HIKARAN DAAL was subdued by ZAKAU in
an exciting 3 minute gory melee. Not too scummy, eh?
Clive is still our top Slasher. CLIVE (6-5215) (50-47-5,176) of THE LADY'S LIST
fought FATALITY (7-5820) (25-11-0,121) of BRUTAL LEGION. CLIVE overpowered FATALITY
in a popular 1 minute uneven match. Uneven it was!
Our top-ranked Striker fought a stand-in. ZANE GREY (21-4810) (45-75-2,165) of
AUTHORS fought M. CHARDINEE (104-8) (0-0-0,110) of THE LADY'S LIST. ZANE GREY won
victory over M. CHARDINEE in an action packed 4 minute gory duel.
Last... and perhaps least, the top-ranked Basher in Darkholm is still Men
Working. MEN WORKING (38-4189) (72-237-1,180) of JUST BECAUSE fought HELENE JUSTE
(5-4875) (35-56-1,126) of THE MIDDLE WAY 5. MEN WORKING was defeated by HELENE JUSTE
in an action packed 1 minute melee. Lazy fellow.
Speaking of exhaustingly defensive fighters, I cast a gimlet eye upon Zeus.
