THE GUARDIAN'S FORUM
Reflections by the Chief Tower Guard
Greetings glorious Crysalis! It is I, The Icelord, manager of our Tower
Guardian, Earth Elemental. He, of course, is a being I summoned long ago. His
speech is such that only wizards with the proper magic can understand him.
He is greatly honored to stand before you as Champion. Dunedin fought with
great skill and tenacity. All should strike their steel upon their shields to honor
Dunedin.
Earth Elemental graduated at 30-13 from the great city of Chimlevtal. He has
been active in supporting the goals of The Council of Lords. Our Tower Guardian
fought against the invading hordes of Inzolas. His great stone fists decimated the
invader's ranks. He also travels freely between Ghea and the Elemental Plane of
Earth. I am most please to call this being my friend. Please join me in a salute to
Earth Elemental. He looks forward to the coming defense of his title. His challenge
goes out to Scum #1 . It should be a pretty exciting fight! ;)
Salute,
The Icelord
The Council of Lords
REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
"Like the magnificent Sun, rising upon the Dawn and exiling the Night for a Day,
I, Novgorodny Vir, return once again!" Gods, who writes his drivel? Even a golem
can't be that bad.
Speaking of "bad," it rained. Do you know what rain does to pen and paper? No,
of course not, most of you are illiterate. Too many blows to the head. Too few
brains to AVOID blows to the head and not become a gladiator to begin with. You
don't see ME down there on the sands getting beaten up, do you? Some of the wettest
notes are completely illegible.
The basic stuff, the things even golems can figure out:
The Stormguards avoided Royal Flush.
Juan got the most challenges.
Forty-two fights, of which seventeen were challenge matches.
One death.
Four standbys.
The longest fight was seven minutes, which is barely an eye-blink as long fights
go. And they say this arena is slow!
SINYAMEGIL (50-2952) (23-22-0,87) of DARK SIDHE fought BLUEGILL HAMMER (49-3310)
(21-3-2,68) of FISH HAMMERZ. SINYAMEGIL devastated BLUEGILL HAMMER in an action
packed 1 minute mismatched match. I approve of this on general principles. Fish are
BAD and should be devastated at every opportunity. But not eaten, that would be
disgusting.
LILITH (18-7794) (17-10-2,68) of THE SHADOWS fought ZOOLANDER (39-3523) (15-8-
1,55) of WITLESS WONDERS. LILITH lost to ZOOLANDER in a popular 1 minute conflict.
Naturally. It's the natural inferiority of women at work. Because Lilith is so
unmistakeably female....
MOSGIEL (14-3836) (20-8-1,58) of OTAGO HIGHLANDERS fought RANCID WAIF (8-4413)
(16-10-0,52) of HAPLESS WAIF. MOSGIEL was subdued by RANCID WAIF in a 2 minute
conflict. The smell was detectable all the way up in the spy reporters' box. If I'd
had to be right down beside the rancid one, I would've been subdued, too.
GUTTERBALL (78-2344) (19-16-1,50) of PBA fought BINGE N PURGE (45-3567) (19-10-
0,77) of EMETICS. GUTTERBALL overpowered BINGE N PURGE in an action packed 1 minute
bloody uneven battle. I count this as a victory for sane eating habits.
PROOKIE (78-2345) (21-13-1,68) of PBA fought RIRORNI SOLDIER (106-3) (0-0-0,30)
of Local Idiots. PROOKIE handily defeated RIRORNI SOLDIER in a 1 minute one-sided
duel. "Prookie"? Gah. With a name like that, even the Rirorni Soldier should have
been able to beat him. And the Rirorni don't make good soldiers.
RANDOM MATCHUP (96-1048) (9-6-3,37) of OVERRATED fought TAMMY FAYE (39-3520)
(16-7-0,71) of WITLESS WONDERS. RANDOM MATCHUP was overpowered by TAMMY FAYE in a 2
minute one-sided duel. On a random match-up, no less. I call that fate. Or
something.
DANNIA TYL SIO (52-3393) (34-23-1,96) of SAND DANCERS fought U.S.S. ARIZONA (34-
2643) (20-16-1,68) of D-DAY SQUAD. DANNIA TYL SIO lost to U.S.S. ARIZONA in a 1
minute bout. If this Arizona is such hot spit, why doesn't he rustle around and kick
the invaders out of his home town?
PIXIE BLIGHT (73-4427) (17-14-0,100) of DARQUE FORCES VIII fought MAPPATES
HAMMER (33-5597) (15-10-2,55) of MILCHAMAH HAMMERZ. PIXIE BLIGHT demolished MAPPATES
HAMMER in an exciting 1 minute mismatched match. Totally disgusting. I hate pixies,
nixies, brownies, fairies, all those little idiots. It makes my teeth hurt just
thinking about them. Mappates should've hammered the Blight into the ground.
WILD CARD HAMMER (33-6864) (24-17-2,100) of CASINO HAMMERZ fought KISSYFUR (67-
2187) (22-10-1,90) of ALL-STAR NANA'S. WILD CARD HAMMER devastated KISSYFUR in a
popular 1 minute uneven bout. "Kissyfur"? What is a formerly tough profession
coming to when gladiators choose arena names like "Kissyfur" instead of "Blood-
splattered" or "Gore-spiller" or some such?
DOLLFACE (39-2372) (58-79-1,106) of DRINKING BUDDIES fought SPLIT (78-2347) (24-
13-0,114) of PBA. DOLLFACE luckily beat SPLIT in an exciting 7 minute brutal
struggle. Our longest fight, not that it counts as LONG, but it was certainly long
enough. Too long, if you ask me.
ZEBRA HAMMER (39-3170) (21-8-0,133) of JUNGLE HAMMERZ fought EVIL INPUTTER (106-
7) (0-0-0,110) of Local Idiots. ZEBRA HAMMER viciously subdued EVIL INPUTTER in a
crowd pleasing 3 minute match. Oh, yeah? Just wait until the Evil Inputter gets
ready to subdue YOU, Zebra. Never annoy the inputter.
PRINCE OF AR (31-3625) (14-11-1,133) of THE STORMBRINGERS fought 300 (78-2346)
(21-15-0,140) of PBA. PRINCE OF AR overpowered 300 in a popular 1 minute one-sided
bout. So... the man from Ar is, what, 301?
TIGER SHARK HAMMER (49-3190) (18-9-2,101) of FISH HAMMERZ fought FLOYD (106-10)
(0-0-0,150) of Local Idiots. TIGER SHARK HAMMER savagely defeated FLOYD in an
exciting 3 minute gory match. Savage doesn't even begin to describe this one. The
maintenance men were trying to sift bits of bone out of the sand for hours. And
other bits, which I hope won't show up in somebody's stew....
AVONSIDE (13-3927) (31-42-1,167) of KIWI CONNECTION fought LUMBERING WAIF (8-
4346) (18-9-0,128) of HAPLESS WAIF. AVONSIDE savagely defeated LUMBERING WAIF in an
action packed 2 minute gruesome fight. How many times did the Waif lumber right into
your blade, Avonside?
KRAC D'CHEVALIERS (31-4345) (20-25-0,172) of THE STORMGUARDS fought MAHALUMMAH
HAMMER (33-5146) (23-14-4,126) of MILCHAMAH HAMMERZ. KRAC D'CHEVALIERS won victory
over MAHALUMMAH HAMMER in a 2 minute bout. I've noticed this before, but here's a
serious case in point: people who live on islands have really strange names.
Arenamaster Sandoval (not one of our brightest bulbs, but still) had trouble saying
the Hammer's name.
WEINERMUN (37-2635) (53-45-3,198) of ALL THE MUN'S MEN fought CRUSADER LORD (31-
3946) (41-31-5,186) of THE STORMGUARDS. WEINERMUN was demolished by CRUSADER LORD in
a 1 minute one-sided fight. Let that be a lesson to you, Weinermun, never come out
on the sands wearing a bun. It's just inviting a hungry opponent to do his worst.
KITALA THE BOLD (78-875) (84-102-2,196) of SAND DANCERS fought KING FORADAY (47-
3762) (42-39-4,180) of ROYAL FLUSH. KITALA THE BOLD handily defeated KING FORADAY in
a 2 minute uneven duel. Does this make Kitala the queen for today? If so, I'm going
to stay in bed. She's got too much temper for my taste. And women shouldn't be
rulers, which is even worse than training them to be gladiators.
SANDBLASTER (11-3899) (52-55-3,182) of ANDORIAN KNIGHTS fought FEATHER (54-1742)
(21-16-2,165) of THE WHITE COMPANY. SANDBLASTER defeated FEATHER in an exciting 2
minute gory duel. This is why you should issue challenges, Sports Fans. Unless, of
course, you LIKE gore.
SNOOPER (1-5154) (39-18-3,241) of MIKE'S MISFITS fought DUNEDIN (14-3703) (30-
38-0,198) of OTAGO HIGHLANDERS. SNOOPER handily defeated DUNEDIN in a popular 1
minute mismatched competition. What secret information did the Snoopster discover
that permitted this victory? Ah, that would be telling! Ask him yourself.
DISCO QUEEN (47-1992) (33-15-1,179) of ROYAL FLUSH fought SIR YDER (31-4353)
(26-9-0,121) of WILLBENDERS. DISCO QUEEN overcame SIR YDER in a crowd pleasing 4
minute bout. Dazzled him with her crown, which is dirty pool. But women are sneaky.
North Forkers are sneaky. QUEENS are sneaky. I wouldn't live under the rule of a
queen.
TEMPUS (31-538) (36-36-0,173) of THE STORMGUARDS fought BURGER KING (47-4152)
(30-26-2,130) of ROYAL FLUSH. TEMPUS vanquished BURGER KING in a 1 minute one-sided
fray. All those onions! (shudder) I feel sure that Tempus also vanquished the next
ten people he met.
FIGHTER ACE (47-1189) (53-41-6,188) of ROYAL FLUSH fought CARLA (39-2428) (60-
74-2,161) of DRINKING BUDDIES. FIGHTER ACE overpowered CARLA in an exciting 1 minute
uneven match. Carla was drunk, as usual. Those Drinking Buddies always are. It's
probably a good thing they don't talk.
SIR LY (10-4116) (42-31-0,205) of SIR AGLIO fought TEN COMMANDMENTS (47-3843)
(38-34-0,163) of ROYAL FLUSH. SIR LY narrowly defeated TEN COMMANDMENTS in a popular
2 minute duel. Let this be a lesson to you all. A really good frown, a "fighting
face," so to speak, is worth two blows. Of course, against an experienced ritual
grimacer, it barely opens.
WHEEL OF FORTUNE (25-2529) (44-40-2,182) of DUELING FOR DOLLARS fought MIRTA
(51-4033) (47-28-1,151) of SAND DANCERS. WHEEL OF FORTUNE lost to MIRTA in a 2
minute match. That's fortune for you.
KALANDRA (50-2443) (58-57-3,214) of DARK SIDHE fought RIRORNI CAPTAIN (106-26)
(0-0-0,200) of Local Idiots. KALANDRA demolished RIRORNI CAPTAIN in an exciting 1
minute gory one-sided bout. The Rirorni Captains aren't much better than the
soldiers. After all, we captured them. That tells you something right there.
Ah, the challenge matches, and the ever-absorbing question of who's trying to do
what to whom, up, down, and sideways.
DEBBIE DAHMER (45-3579) (24-8-1,74) of MORDRED'S MADMEN challenged SNOWFALL (45-
3473) (26-14-0,76) of NORTHERN LIGHTS. Up 2, in a home-town match. What kind of
deep-rooted rivalry is behind this? DEBBIE DAHMER devastated SNOWFALL in a 1 minute
one-sided Challenge fight. Debbie was hot.
EGOTISTIC DUKE (28-2779) (19-14-1,52) of ABYSMAL BEHAVIORS challenged POPPY
HAMMER (28-3318) (17-9-0,54) of FLOWER HAMMERZ. Up 2. EGOTISTIC DUKE beat POPPY
HAMMER in a crowd pleasing 1 minute Challenge brawl. What, you never thought the
Duke had a REASON for his ego? Well, now you know.
JUSTICE (73-4299) (16-8-1,78) of PEACE MAKERS challenged PINE (78-2350) (22-8-
1,63) of TREE PEOPLE. Down 15. JUSTICE devastated PINE in a 1 minute uneven
Challenge duel. Piece maker indeed. Pieces, splinters, chips, and sawdust. I never
knew a saw could be used in the arena. Innovative.
BIRAN (54-1927) (17-8-1,81) of THE WHITE COMPANY challenged NORM PETERSON (39-
2745) (43-71-0,72) of DRINKING BUDDIES. Down 9. BIRAN handily defeated NORM
PETERSON in a popular 1 minute uneven Challenge fight. I'm surprised Norm could get
his head out of his beer keg long enough to show up.
MATADOR (11-4139) (43-33-2,98) of ANDORIAN KNIGHTS challenged EGAN FORN (39-
3295) (24-35-0,58) of THE MIDDLE WAY. Down 40. MATADOR demolished EGAN FORN in a
popular 1 minute bloody mismatched Challenge match. Now that we know Matador is a
closet Delarquan, all is explained. Of course, most Delarquans don't hang out in
closets, but to each his own, provided it isn't MY closet.
LEVITICUS (54-1687) (19-19-2,126) of THE WHITE COMPANY challenged JACK SPRAT
(47-2954) (48-56-4,124) of ROYAL FLUSH. Down 2. LEVITICUS was demolished by JACK
SPRAT in a 1 minute mismatched Challenge competition. I heard you could use a sprat
to catch a whale, but nobody explained why you'd WANT to catch a whale. One of the
mysteries of life.
STONEWALL (11-3900) (49-58-2,133) of ANDORIAN KNIGHTS challenged TASHIA (11-
2740) (28-37-1,137) of DEADLY DE-PARTED. Up 4. STONEWALL unbelievably bested TASHIA
in a popular 4 minute brutal Challenge bout. What part of this do you not believe?
SANDMAN (11-3923) (52-56-2,173) of ANDORIAN KNIGHTS challenged KYRA (51-3774)
(41-45-1,149) of SAND DANCERS. Down 24. SANDMAN vanquished KYRA in an exciting 1
minute one-sided Challenge fight. Old news.
STEE JANS (20-65) (43-39-0,182) of OVERLORDS challenged JUAN (41-2304) (27-18-
0,194) of DREAM TEAMS. Up 12. STEE JANS lost to JUAN in an action packed 2 minute
Challenge fight. This is Most-Challenged Juan, and you can wonder if Stee Jans is
happy or sorry to have been the "one that got through."
TALOS (31-2069) (52-25-0,190) of THE STORMGUARDS challenged HANNYA (73-4350)
(28-9-1,197) of BLOOD LUST. Up 7. TALOS won victory over HANNYA in an action packed
2 minute Challenge duel. I believe there's going to be conversation on this one, so
I'll leave it lie.
BELGOROTH (50-3175) (32-29-0,187) of DARK SIDHE challenged R'SHANN (20-577) (54-
43-3,189) of OVERLORDS. Up 2. BELGOROTH easily killed R'SHANN in a 1 minute uneven
Challenge fight. Now, that's what I'd call a sharp criticism. Really sharp.
JACK VALTRAEDS (47-407) (83-60-2,207) of ROYAL FLUSH challenged BALCLUTHA (14-
3169) (28-35-1,217) of OTAGO HIGHLANDERS. Up 10. JACK VALTRAEDS was savagely
defeated by BALCLUTHA in a 2 minute Challenge struggle. I don't know either of these
two, I don't want to know them, and they can beat each other up for an hour and I
wouldn't care. Well, okay, an hour I would have noticed. We haven't had any really
GOOD LONG fights for quite a while.
DAIRY QUEEN (47-2685) (61-36-2,206) of ROYAL FLUSH challenged SIR PLUS (10-4316)
(32-25-1,207) of SIR AGLIO. Up 1. DAIRY QUEEN bested SIR PLUS in an action packed 3
minute Challenge brawl. Another queen! The wretched women are everywhere. Kings of
the world unite and throw off your queens, you have only your authority to gain!
SANDPAWN (11-4169) (48-23-1,194) of ANDORIAN KNIGHTS challenged PAUL (35-2349)
(36-37-2,194) of COMMON JOE'S. Straight across. SANDPAWN luckily beat PAUL in an
exciting 6 minute Challenge fight. The second-longest fight, and you'll note that,
just like the longest one, the outcome is ascribed to luck. Does this mean that
after three or four minutes, nobody's in any condition to strike shrewd blows, and it
all boils down to "who falls down last"? If so, I want to see you ALL out there
doing wind sprints, lifting weights, what am I saying, run marathons in full armor!
This is pitiful!
FENGAR II (20-61) (111-79-2,274) of OVERLORDS challenged KING UVDAHELL (47-1643)
(34-13-1,226) of ROYAL FLUSH. Down 48. FENGAR II won victory over KING UVDAHELL in
a crowd pleasing 2 minute Challenge brawl. You notice the funny thing? This is not
listed as a "mis-match" or "one-sided."
BEAUTY QUEEN (47-3352) (37-38-3,221) of ROYAL FLUSH challenged PAT (35-2292)
(38-42-2,242) of COMMON JOE'S. Up 21. BEAUTY QUEEN demolished PAT in a popular 1
minute one-sided Challenge melee. These queens! They're all OVER the place!
And for the title: EARTH ELEMENTAL (31-1245) (34-22-0,383) of THE STORMGUARDS
challenged SCUM #1 (50-2743) (48-53-0,218) of DARK SIDHE. Down 165. EARTH ELEMENTAL
was devastated by SCUM #1 in a 4 minute Challenge Title fight. You will note that
despite including a self-declared "scum" warrior, this fight was neither the longest
nor the runner up? This is the way it SHOULD go, unless you're prepared to do a
SERIOUS job of scumming. Congratulations where appropriate and condolences to the
rest.

PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE
AK47 -- Although I haven't been active here for a while, it doesn't mean I haven't
paying attention to what's going on. Baphomet pretty much hits the target right on
the money, and your repeated downchallenges towards the Sand Dancers et al. are being
noted. Failure to cease in your unAndorian behaviour will likely see a coordinated
effort to do unto the offender as the offender has done onto others. I'd share
favourite learn information with you, but not until your tendencies permanently
change. -- Crip, mgr. of Royal Flush
Canada Cooler -- Vodka or Whine? -- Beauty Queen
Balclutha -- Are you going to be following your father soon? -- Fighter Ace
Crusader Lord, Talos, Krac -- Score that Royal Flush 3 -- Stormguards 0 in the battle

Snookums -- Thou shalt not bear a name that reminds people of their childhood teddy-
bears. -- Ten Commandments
That odd, my list doesn't have that commandment. -- Ed.
Carla -- If you insist on breaking my weapons like that, you leave me no choice but
to slap you silly. -- King Foraday
How can you tell when you've achieved the desired effect?
The Icelord -- Many salutes on Earth Elemental taking the title! Hussah! Fengar is
nipping at his heels. Well managed, My Brother! I'll be seeing you in a couple
days! -- High Lord Bosk
The Saint -- It is nice to be back in Crysalis. Can you give us a list of who
manages here? Thanks. -- The Icelord
This is teams listed in last turn's newsletter. If I've gotten anyone's name

Manager Darque -- Wow, last time we met, you were not pleased with how our meeting
went. Your hulking bodyguard, what was his name, was lucky I didn't beat him up. I
have a dagger with your name on it. -- Lord Protector Tempus
Crysalis -- Anyone have any ideas on how to make turn #150 a special event? Ideas?
Everyone use a warflail? No armor allowed? Everyone fight barehanded? Everyone use
a weapon they are not well suited for? Everyone run riposte/slash tactic? The
possibilities are endless. Turn #150 only comes around once, so let's make it a
special one. -- The Icelord
Lots of personals? -- L.
Mun -- Thanks for the welcome to ADM 106 and a salute to everyone else who extends a
hearty welcome! There will be a Select Group of Hammer Gladiators here on a regular
basis to see how they fare! -- Hammer
Baphomet -- I am a Delarquan in hiding among Andorians. I managed the Gamecocks as
Bossman beginning the time of Heart-Breakers 10th win in Noblish Island. Devil Snake
killed Cain, then mocked him. My bloodfeud lasted 33 turns and ended in Niytyole
Island when my mentor Hammer crushed Devil Snake's skull. The outrage caused me to
kill off my whole stable in the Dark Arena and go into hiding among the Andorians.
Be not fooled by my stable name. The Elders of Aruak City befriended me and my honor
demands I defend my friends in their times of need. If it was allowed I would order
my five gladiators back to Aruak City but I cannot. -- AK47 (getting off the soap box
after his long winded speech)
Andorian Knight Stable -- If you catch Baphomet alone in an alley use a garrote to
quiet him up. Do not allow yourself to be seen. Begin stalking The Knights Templar
stable. -- AK47 (noticing Sir Lancelot is ranked 2nd to last)
Sir Lancelot -- Who asked you? -- Sandpawn (wondering if Sir Lancelot is still proud
of his own record)
Egan Forn -- How did you like losing to a naked man with no weapons, armor or shield?
-- Matador (unsure what Egan Forn was staring at)
Oh, nothing much.... *grin* -- Ed.
Kitala the Skilled -- Thanks for your kind words. It is hard not to respect your
skills in the arena. I do believe you defeated all my stablemates. Your friends
will be punished instead in our feud. -- Sandpawn (defeated by Pat who pats hard--too
hard)
Kalandra -- Well done. -- Kitala the Bold
P.S. Are there any light sidhe around here?
Sandblaster -- You do such great things for the Andorian reputation. -- Kyra
Stonewall -- I'm surprised you could even move. -- Mirta
Matador -- Well, I can see why Kitala doesn't much like you guys, but you do teach
well. There are worse things than being down-challenged by a good teacher. -- Egan
Forn
Pine -- Ah, a chip off the old home block (I started out in Miroi T'Chi-Chang, of
course). Sorry I couldn't teach you more. -- Dannia tyl Sio
Rancid Waif -- I strongly recommend soap. And water. Applied externally on a
regular basis. -- Snowfall
Abraxis -- Finally made it. Glad to see that we can continue spanking the Council of
Fools even here. Need some style info. Time to put some steel in the council. Let
their hot air go back to the dung pit. -- Goat
Council of Fools -- I see that you still favor them "scum" warriors. Please feel
free to downchallenge at any time. I will not be avoiding you. So stack your plate
and sharpen your shields. -- A Delarquan
All -- Is this an Andorian arena? Like honor and all that noble stuff? -- The
Shadows
No. This arena is neutral. -- Livia

TEN TURNS OF HELL:
The KLK Capture The Flag Competition
In the spirit of the ongoing effort to make arena play what it used to be (FUN!!), I
am proud to announce the KLK Capture The Flag Competition. The competition will be
held in Jhans (DM-36, which has, by the way, grown in size equal to Talcama already).
:) We are announcing this contest early to allow managers time to prep.
Rules:
-- On turn 462 (due 8/4/04) the lowest ranked warrior on your team is given your
team's 'flag' (he is your initial flag defender).
-- Starting on turn 463 (due 8/18/04) flags will be defended every turn and turn
463 is the turn scoring will begin.
-- Fights involving flags are winners-take-all and a warrior can carry as many
flags as he can win.
-- If a warrior holding a flag either A) goes inactive, B) loses to a stand-by
warrior or C) gets DA'd, he forfeits all flags he has and they are returned the their
original team's lowest ranked warrior.
-- If you hold your own flag on an inactive warrior you receive NO POINTS that
turn.
-- If a warrior graduates to AD holding flags starting on the next turn those
flags will be defended by the lowest ranked warrior on the team of the graduating
warrior.
-- Scoring as follows for each turn:
2 pts -- possession of your own team flag
1 pt -- possession any other flag
1 pt -- for each win
1 pt -- for each kill
1 pt -- for each award you receive in the newsletter
-- You may enter as many teams as you like (per RSI rules) but each team is its
own entry.
-- Tie-Breaker goes to the team that had the most points from flags.
-- If still tied the tie-breaker will be the team that had the most points from
kills. (It's the Delarq way.)
-- The contest lasts 10 turns and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
(based on highest point totals)
Prizes: (what you've been waiting on)
1st -- 3 know favorites potions*
DA warrior named after winning manager
2nd -- 2 know favorites potions*
3rd -- 1 know favorites potion*
* These are full favorite potions (weapon, rhythms and tactics) and can only be used
on warriors with at least 4 FE.
How's that for paying out? (grin) Even if you think that it's all about the TC,
these prizes should be enough to draw you in. (You know who you are.)
I hope to see friend and foe alike come to Jhans. Legion, Froths, and all the
others...this is your personal invite. Can you win? Can you survive 10 turns of
Hell in Jhans?
Note: Special thanks to RSI for helping make this contest possible. Thanks
guys!

Death Fest Begins July 29/DM 59 T-172
"You drive a hard bargain Hammer," responded Lord Lian Ki Na-Sul, "but the
Gladiatorial Commission has agreed to re-open DM 58 Delarq Tor as a Slow Arena
exclusively for a period of six months to those Death Fest contestants who fight
their stables at least 67 times out of a possible 75 during the 15 rounds of Death
Fest; on the condition that at least 20 stables qualify for the Illis Iron Stable
Award at the conclusion of the Death Fest and those qualifying managers send a New
Stable to DM 58 Delarq Tor without Cannibalizing their participation in the other
arenas where they have active stables!"
Hammer felt a certain sense of satisfaction as he studied the ghoulish grin
spreading across the face of Lord Lian Ki Na-Sul; proud Arena Master of the once
dying Illis Arena, as the DM 59 Arena Authority signed the Gladiatorial Commission
papers authenticating the arrangement agreed upon by the two parties presiding.
"You and the Gladiatorial Commission also drive a hard bargain," Hammer replied
as he reflected upon the prospects of Delarq Tor DM 58 being re-opened as a Slow
Arena with at least 20 New Stables by the Managers who fight their stables at least
67 times out of a possible 75 during the 15 rounds of Death Fest. "I also notice the
clause that for Delarq Tor to be open Exclusively for 6 months to the New Stables
managed by the Illis Iron Stable Award Winners that there must be at least 15 stables
Active each cycle. That is a fair bargain for the opportunity to battle for the
Duelmaster Throne each of those six months before Other New Stables are allowed to
enter Delarq Tor."
This was a Golden Opportunity for both Veteran and Newbie Managers to pave a new
frontier of Delarq history by qualifying their Death Fest stables in DM 59 with 67
fights out of a possible 75; then for the price of running a stable in a Regular
Arena, continuing to be Active in DM 59 and sending a New Team Roll Up to be a part
of "History in the Making" when Delarq Tor would re-open for its First Turn as a Slow
Arena on November 3rd, 2005.
Death Fest would conclude on T-186 August 25th, 2005 allowing the Illis Iron
Stable Award Winners enough time to be registered with the Gladiatorial Commission;
whereupon they would be able to submit a New Team Roll Up to the GC to start a New
Stable in Delarq Tor; be able to fight those New Gladiators in the Rookies 2005 Fall
Mailer Tourney; then begin competing for the DM 58 Duelmasters Throne in Delarq Tor
right out of the gate with the November 3rd 2005 T-1 Debut Opening Round.
Hammer of the First Part had also negotiated with Lord Na-Zul of the Second Part
an agreement that All 10 Dark Arena Monsters and 17 NPCs Characters be re-named by
the Top Ten Death Fest Finishers. [See DM 59 T-171 Newsletter Team Spotlight by
Hammer for the complete listing of Dark Arena Monsters/NPCs and the Official Death
Fest Designation for which Top Ten Finishers re-name which characters!]
Lord Na-Sul could not hide his delight at the prospects of Death being re-
delivered to his once dying arena during the Delarq Death Fest; the DM 59 Arena
Master agreed that these Death Fest Prizes were but a Small Exchange in Comparison to
the Profits to be made by the local Illis business merchants and surrounding
community from the Anticipated Influx into Illis by the Veteran and Newbie
Managers/Gladiators/Stables seeking to make History in the Delarq Death Fest.
Nor could Hammer conceal his jubilation regarding the Call Across Alistari being
Answered to Cross Blades and Match Wits with the Devious, the Diabolical, the
Dangerous and the Down Challenging who were being drawn to the Delarq Death Fest to
Fulfill their Delarq Dueling Destiny!
REMEMBER: Death Fest begins July 29th T-172 with 25 points being awarded to
those who write a minimum 15 paragraph Team Spotlight [including Stable Name &
Managerial Alias in the Storyline!] for the DM 59 T-172 Newsletter [So Make Sure HAL
Does Not Eat any Lengthy Sentences that are Emailed without Proper Formatting; and
