It was Novgorodny Vir, and I looked on his work and despaired. It's always like
that.
Just to hit the high spots (it's too hot for the low spots): Royal Flush was
avoided by Flower Girls. Odd. I didn't think the Flower Girls avoided anybody.
Balder got the most challenges.
A mere seventeen fights, that's disgraceful. Has EVERYBODY gone away for a
vacation? I wish I could've. Only four challenge matches. Two standbys on the
sands.
With only seventeen fights, they may all be high points, and anyway, they won't
take long to cover.
FENDER GRALE (50-3389) (18-32-2,63) of MIDDLE WAY 6 fought YMIR BLOODRAVEN (8-
4369) (13-10-2,51) of NORTHERN BADLANDS. FENDER GRALE was demolished by YMIR
BLOODRAVEN in a 1 minute one-sided bout. Why would anyone seek graduation and
advancement to the Isle, where new and worse opponents will beat you up? Of course,
I suppose when the alternative is death, it looks good.
SUNFLASH (45-3474) (29-36-1,53) of NORTHERN LIGHTS fought ALASTARIAN DESERTER
(106-1) (0-0-0,30) of the College of Mimes. SUNFLASH devastated ALASTARIAN DESERTER
in an exciting 1 minute one-sided brawl. Too bad. I understand that in this
particular instance, the Deserter was simply looking for a cool breeze.
SNOWFALL (45-3473) (39-26-0,82) of NORTHERN LIGHTS fought UNCERTAIN OMELET (47-
3786) (13-6-0,79) of MYSTIC ORC FEAST. SNOWFALL was overcome by UNCERTAIN OMELET in
a crowd pleasing 1 minute bout. There's a lesson in this: Never eat a dubious
omelet.
MAKKEH KILLER (72-6032) (17-15-0,36) of MILCHAMAH fought HOLLAN INNIS (50-3388)
(22-27-0,59) of MIDDLE WAY 6. MAKKEH KILLER was overpowered by HOLLAN INNIS in a 1

13-0,82) of FREEDONIA. GILIA HARN was devastated by BOMBADIL in an exciting 4 minute
mismatched conflict. Somehow I didn't get the impression that Gilia was excited
about this great opportunity.

(54-47-3,201) of ANDORIAN KNIGHTS. NEWT GINGRICH devastated MATADOR in an action
packed 1 minute one-sided competition. I knew a person who kept newts once. Or
should that be, I once knew a person who kept newts, because he still DOES keep them.

The 2006 Mordanti Alliance Olympics are off to a grand start! With seventeen teams
declared, running under eight different flags (not to mention six additional non-
Olympic teams present), it is looking to be as tough as any previous Olympiad, if not
more! Olympians petitioned the Commission to make an allowance for late entries, and
the Commission agreed, and will allow new entrants to partake, as long as they are
active by Round 3 (T546, due May 29th). So if you wish to enter, please email your
intentions to amicitia@gwi.net with team name, manager name, and affiliation
(alliance name or independent), or show up in Mordant (DM-1) on, or before, May 29th
and place your declarations in the newsletter!
