                                  WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT

Andorak:
----------
Minute 11021: Manager sipped his mai-tai atop his lounge chair in one of the
managers; suites in the arena. It was another perfect turn in Andorak. The sun was
shining, the competition sparse, and another glorious scum-fest was taking place.
"See the way that warrior has his wrist turned the wrong way?" Manager talked
aloud to no one in particular, "That's costing him extra energy and he's going to
tire in around minute 22,000. Tsk."
Suddenly the door barged open. In walked Armalias Skyhawk, ready for battle and
donning the emblem of the Scarlet Knights. "Come," he said, his voice taking an
unusually serious tone, "We must go."

Free Blades:
------------
The Dark One and Aragorn watched the fights from one of the overhanging walkways in
the arena. Dozens of black birds circled overhead, carrying pieces of parchment in
their beaks.
"It looks like those birds are delivering messages," said Aragorn.
"Ravens. Some say they are messengers of death," noted the Dark One.
Two of the black birds broke from formation and headed towards the two managers.
They dropped their parchments at the feet of the two managers.
"Papyrus," mused the Dark One, "also a symbol of death."
"Really?" asked Aragorn somewhat hesitant to open his parchment, "I wonder
what's going on."
"No. Just kidding," the Dark One teased as he opened his note. "It says we're
supposed to meet at the managers' convention hall near the center of the Isle of the
Eye."

"Curious," mused Aragorn.

Darkholm:
---------
"Hey are there any more of TMM's muffins?" asked a famished Desiree as she jotted
down notes for the spy report from the manager's lounge.
"No time for muffins, sorry!" replied TUM has he hurriedly packed his bag.
"What's going on? They're not re-running the fights, are they?" asked the spy
reporter.
"It looks like all ADM managers are being summoned to the Isle of the Eye," said
TUM. "This must be something big."

Home Guard:
------------
"Whoa, all of the managers of ADM were invited and they asked us Home Guard folks to
attend?" asked the Mun.
"I hear the last time this happened, it was because they were looking for
volunteers to go into the gate and help in the invasion of Gateway. Most of the Home
Guard warriors were killed," noted One Armed Bandit.
"Well, if there is danger, then it's up to the managers and warriors of the
Guard to answer," pointed out the Mun.
"Yeah, they might need cannon fodder in the front lines again...."

Managers' Convention Center, the Isle of the Eye (The next day):
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The managers of the various Advanced Duelmasters arenas quickly descended upon the
Isle's convention center, which hadn't been used for a managerial gathering in many
years. Conversation quickly turned to the reason upon which they had been rapidly
summoned.
"Do you think it's another Rirorni invasion?" asked Tripwire.
"Doubtful," said Le Pentarque, "it's been quiet on that front for years."
"Maybe the Gateway monsters are back!" said Slugbait.
"The magical seals we put in place don't appear to be broken," said the Dark
One. "Although it could be a totally different dimension invading us this time."
"As long as the tournament isn't cancelled, I can live with it," said Guardian.
"Wait. Don't you guys notice something weird about this place?" pointed out
Jekyll. "This room has been decorated. Festively."
The managers of the isle began to look around. The room did seem to be brightly
decorated, although not extravagantly so. Colorful draperies had been hung on the
walls and streamers and balloons were all over the room as well.
"Oh no," groaned Crip, "don't tell me that Soultaker has conned us all into
attending another one of his surprise birthday parties for himself again."
"Gah," moaned Mannequin, "that's two years in a row he's got us now!"
All of the managers sighed and started to head out of the convention center,
when suddenly a commission scribe appeared on stage.
"Stop!" said the scribe, "this isn't another Soultaker surprise party!"
"It's not?" asked Papa Bear. "Then what's with all the decorations?"
"This actually is a party, but not for the reason you think," said the scribe.
With a wave of his arm, a banner suddenly dropped down from behind the stage to the
gasp of many of the managers in attendance. It read: "CELEBRATING THE RETURN OF THE
ADM REGIONAL TOURNAMENT!"
"Wow, it's been so long since the last one," said Crip.
"Indeed," said the scribe. "The Lady of the Isle of the Eye has noted that in
this time of peace, all of you managers have grown soft. You sit around talking shop
in the regional ADM arenas while prepping for the next tournament. So if it's a
tournament you want, it's a tournament you shall have--but one you will have to fight
you way in. And if you are able to fight your way through your comrades and earn
your spot on the team, you will have to duel it out with all of the other regionals'
best too. We will be sending a rules pamphlet to each of your guild houses."
"Can I mention that I'm the defending champion of the last ADM Regional
tournament?" said Mannequin.
"Don't even start," replied Manager. "It doesn't count if it took place before
the first TOGS competition. Besides, you can't win. Andorak is going to win."
"Everyone knows the best and most deep region is Darkholm," said The Muffin Man.
"We have legions of managers who we can call on at any moment that can win this
thing."
"Not me," said Guardian, "I play for Free Blades."
"Don't forget the Slow arena managers," said Fandil of the Consortium Elders.
"The only reason Crysalis has never won before was because we weren't allowed to
compete. This time we are unified and we will put together a team."
"If you were any good, you'd run in a fast arena," quipped Manager
"If any of you were any good, you'd run in Darkholm," retorted the Muffin Man.
The room erupted vociferously in argument as the managers of ADM began to argue
in favor of their home regions.
Suddenly, One Armed Bandit streaked naked across the room. "Home Guard
Rulez!!!" he yelled as a couple of security guards quickly teleported in and started
chasing him.
From the top of her tower, Sheila Greywand watched the managers' argue amongst
themselves and smirked.

Regional Tournament FAQ:
==========================
The next ADM Regional Tournament will be held the Week of September 20th, 2009.

Q: What is the ADM Regional Tournament?
A: The ADM Regional Tournament is a competition where the best and brightest
warriors from the ADM regionals compete to for bragging rights and to see which one
is the best!

Q: How does it work?
A: During the week of September 19th, each Regional Team will be temporarily moved
to Lirin Kiv where they will battle it out in a single elimination tournament with
the last warrior standing winning for his region. (Learns, Skills, and FE gained
during the contest will NOT count)

Q: How are teams determined?
A: There are 11 automatic berths given out to each team. The Duelmaster and each of
the 10 Stylemasters at the end of the following turns will be awarded automatic
entry:
   Andorak: Turn 513 (due 9/5)
Free Blades: Turn 514 (due 8/26)
   Darkholm: Turn 513 (due 8/28)
Home Guard: Turn 514 (due 9/1)
   Crysalis: Turn 212 (due 9/7)

To qualify for a Stylemaster position, you must have been active in the arena in 3 of
the prior 4 turns including the last one. (Thus, you'll want to activate any
inactive warriors who you want to try and qualify by Mid-July sometime, but
immediately for Crysalis.)

In addition, each region will be allowed to select 2 wildcard entrants. Wildcard
entrants are generally selected based on regional votes, but the regional team
captain may decide at his discretion. There will be a turn break in most of the
regionals after the slots have been decided but before the regional tourney begins in
order to vote, if necessary.

Each manager may only play for 1 region and qualify no more than 2 warriors on a
regional team. It's quite possible that based on activity, that certain regions may
not be able to field a full team.

Also, because they are hosting the competition, Lirin Kiv has been given a select
amount of wildcard berths. Managers and warriors who are still loyal to Lirin Kiv
may email/diplo the Lirin Kiv regional coordinator to inquire how to get onto the
team. (Lirith Kai citizenship/immigration required)

Q: What's a regional coordinator?
A: The Regional Coordinator is the unofficial "team captain" so to speak. They are
the ones who are in charge of putting together teams based on the rules, and trying
to make sure everyone is included and disputes are handled. (Say, someone qualifies
more than 2 warriors, the regional coordinator will get with that manager and find
out which ones are in or out and notify replacements, etc.)

The regional coordinators are: Manager (Andorak), The Muffin Man (Darkholm), The
Dark One (Free Blades), Crip (Crysalis), Jorja (Lirith Kai), One Armed Bandit (Home
Guard). If you need to contact them, you can write a personal ad in the ADM arena,
or send a diplo to them at:
Manager: Superior Forces in DM 105
The Dark One: Angels of Pain in DM 103
The Muffin Man: Wasteland in DM 104
One Armed Bandit: Sea Dogs in DM 101
Crip: Royal Flush in DM 106
Jorja: Sand Dancers in DM 65

Q: What does happen if someone qualifies more than 2 warriors?
A: That manager will be able to decide which two to send and the next highest
qualifying warrior will be able to take the place of the warrior that doesn't get
sent if it's an automatic spot.

Q: What if my warriors are not an ADM regional? (Or in the wrong one?)
A: If your warriors are in 100 (or in the wrong region), for a limited time only you
can put in a request to customer service to move to the proper regional. Mention
that your warrior wants to try and compete in the regional tourney. (Your warrior
must have been qualified for that region as of the last split)

Q: Is there a prize?
A: Bragging rights!

If there are any other questions, send a diplo to Manager or ask them in the personal
ad section of the arena. Thanks!

                             REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER

There are times when I wish we could reschedule this arena--no, don't worry, it
isn't going to happen. The days are so crowded in this corner of the four-week cycle
that I'm always rushed and never feel I have time to do justice to this best of
Advanced arenas. Still, here we are, and you're looking for a spy report. Okay. I
can do this.

As usual, we have had an excellent day here. Only Talahya and Primus can show
more action on any one fight day, and they don't have the spirit we do, so who cares
about them?
Big Bad Brawlers were avoided by Royal Flush, which makes sense to me. These
Brawlers have no class.
Rubber Knife of Useless Tools got the most challenges, but which Rubber Knife of
which Useless Tools... I can't tell you that. Frustrating, isn't it? But we're
probably looking at Rubber Knife of Trocar here, as the Rubber Knife of Andor fought
a random match.
We had forty fights, involving a mere three standbys, and fifteen challenges,
none of them TV.

JAGARE (21-6660) (19-6-3,52) of NOMADIC TRIBE fought GWEN RYDER (9-4867) (22-9-
0,77) of DREAM PARK. JAGARE was savagely defeated by GWEN RYDER in an exciting 3
minute bloody brawl. If Gwen dreams of savagery and bloody brawls, I don't think I
want to meet her personally.
GHOST DANCER (28-3365) (35-26-0,79) of DODGE BULLETS fought SCANDALF (4-6219)
(28-35-0,65) of THE SHALLOWSHIP. GHOST DANCER handily defeated SCANDALF in a 1
minute mismatched duel. Hands and feet? What were these two doing before the fight?
And after the fight?
     OPASAN (28-4381) (18-15-1,70) of PHANTACITY fought AMELIA (28-3417) (27-17-1,87)
of DODGE BULLETS. OPASAN was vanquished by AMELIA in a 2 minute brutal mismatched
duel. A home-town match won by experience. Often the case, and I don't mean the
home-town part of it.
NIKKO (47-6385) (14-3-1,46) of LAND OF OZ fought GIMLET (4-6218) (24-38-2,57) of
THE SHALLOWSHIP. NIKKO overpowered GIMLET in a 1 minute one-sided fight. So this
Nikko is a "come from below" type, or maybe you could call him a "victorious
underdog." I tend to be suspicious of people like that. They're mysterious.
Unpredictable. Rather alarming, to tell the truth.
EVALON ELKHORN (50-3553) (25-18-3,78) of DRUID'S GROVE fought UNHOLY TERROR (8-
5051) (18-15-3,79) of BLOOD RITES. EVALON ELKHORN was savagely defeated by UNHOLY
TERROR in a 2 minute competition. And so it goes when the handicapper gets cute with
us. This should have been a very even fight (and you'll note it is NOT described as
uneven). But two minutes and a savage defeat are not the results of an even match.
Ah, well, it was, though the recorder doesn't say so, exciting to watch.

SKIN PEELER (73-5716) (16-4-1,78) of BLACKMAIL fought CAPTURED PIRATE KING (106-
2) (0-0-0,30) of the College of Mimes. SKIN PEELER savagely defeated CAPTURED PIRATE
KING in a popular 2 minute bloody duel. Peeled Pirate King? Euwh. Surely even the
Sea Dogs wouldn't go this far.
DESPERADO (28-1152) (36-35-1,97) of DODGE BULLETS fought ROCK GLAS HUT FUN (8-
4851) (18-13-3,48) of ORCISH IDIOMS. DESPERADO was unbelievably bested by ROCK GLAS
HUT FUN in a 2 minute match. Bah, I have no difficulty believing this! Desperado is
a lazy bum, and I can safely say it because I am sure that he doesn't read this stuff
(probably can't read), nor will his manager (I've heard her complain that the print
is too small). I fact, I could be even more insulting, but I need to save something
for later fights.
THELONIUS (21-6631) (22-4-1,100) of NOMADIC TRIBE fought LEGALASS (4-6217) (29-
33-1,63) of THE SHALLOWSHIP. THELONIUS handily defeated LEGALASS in an exciting 1
minute one-sided fight. You wouldn't think a shallow ship would run aground, but I'm
fairly sure this one did. Stuck on a mudbar for many seasons, brains fried by the
sun, fingers bitten by the winter cold... they're in a sad way. Come on, you guys,
speak up and refute this! (Maybe it was something I ate?)
     YOUNG JOAN (28-3534) (32-37-1,147) of DODGE BULLETS fought SRAN3E (28-4382) (18-
12-0,92) of PHANTACITY. YOUNG JOAN savagely defeated SRAN3E in a crowd pleasing 5
minute brutal match. Another home-town match, and another victory for the more
experienced woman. Well, what can you expect? Women are ruthless.
SERB SMASHER (71-1393) (20-14-2,122) of DOGS OF WAR fought BILLY LILLY (28-3416)
(29-31-1,137) of DODGE BULLETS. SERB SMASHER demolished BILLY LILLY in a popular 1
minute bloody uneven contest. Billy is a serb? This is new to me. I knew he was
often AB-serb, ah, make that absurd, but he can be mildly entertaining when you get
him suitably lubricated, so why smash him?

GERRICK GRIMM (50-3530) (22-31-1,131) of DRUID'S GROVE fought UNZOE THE SHAMAN
(31-4940) (29-16-0,116) of THE STORMGUARDS. GERRICK GRIMM was overpowered by UNZOE
THE SHAMAN in a 1 minute one-sided bout. Shaman versus druid, an interesting
concept.
SAMURAI STRIKER (71-62) (21-23-1,126) of DOGS OF WAR fought LOOGIE CLAP (82-
46049) (28-21-2,150) of TONGUE N CHEEK. SAMURAI STRIKER was subdued by LOOGIE CLAP
in a popular 1 minute fight. Listen, war-dog, I don't care if you're a striker of
samurais or a samurai who strikes back, you can do better than this! Get your act
together and hoist your record back into a positive win/loss.
AB DESTINED 4 THE DA (65-1154) (16-8-2,199) of PAUL'Z PHARTZ fought PRINCE OF AR
(31-3625) (16-20-1,177) of THE STORMBRINGERS. AB DESTINED 4 THE DA was vanquished by
PRINCE OF AR in a 1 minute one-sided fray. Amazing, the arena names that some
gladiators get stuck with. So often undeserved, and yet tending to overshadow the
gladiator's spirit. Managers, take CARE when you bestow these names!
DISCO QUEEN (47-1992) (51-25-2,200) of ROYAL FLUSH fought AVONSIDE (13-3927)
(38-55-1,182) of KIWI CONNECTION. DISCO QUEEN beat AVONSIDE in a popular 5 minute
fight. It may be that in some places, disco is dead. But not here. Just ask the
Queen! She's very much alive and flashing her lights at the crowd, who loves it and
her.
KING UVDAHELL (47-1643) (62-34-1,196) of ROYAL FLUSH fought RIRORNI CAPTAIN
(106-26) (0-0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. KING UVDAHELL was overpowered by
RIRORNI CAPTAIN in a 1 minute uneven competition. Oh, dear. An inadequate comment,
perhaps, but what else can I say?

PHILLIP THE BIRD (40-3708) (18-13-1,182) of CRUEL PET NAMES fought DUNEDIN (14-
3703) (34-56-0,208) of OTAGO HIGHLANDERS. PHILLIP THE BIRD was vanquished by DUNEDIN
in an action packed 1 minute one-sided fray. Does this mean that Dunedin is a pet-
lover? Dogs, cats, parakeets, goldfish? It adds another dimension to the man.
BLOODY SKIN (20-1986) (39-38-1,187) of THE FAMILY TREE fought TOTTI (17-5991)
(25-11-2,189) of ITALIAN FOOTBALL. BLOODY SKIN defeated TOTTI in an action packed 1
minute brutal match. I thought of several comments I could have made about the
winner of this fight but... no, a little too crude, even for gladiators.
TAOS (26-4042) (25-13-1,196) of HERE TO PHOENIX fought MAD AGENT #1 (7-2964)
(45-40-4,195) of INSP GADGETS MINIONS. TAOS overpowered MAD AGENT #1 in a 1 minute
one-sided duel. Absolutely! Mad agents beware of the Taos Lightning! Make the
'shine strong enough and the maddest of agents will succumb. I suppose it's a kind
of smash, really.
TABBY (82-29373) (18-6-0,181) of FELINES fought MAD CAT (7-2965) (59-44-6,210)
of INSP GADGETS MINIONS. TABBY was defeated by MAD CAT in an action packed 3 minute
brutal fight. Are all the Insp's Minions mad? An alarming circumstance, if true.
DEVIL'S ADVOCATE (68-4666) (20-11-1,242) of BLOOD 4 THE MASSES fought WHACKING
WILLOW (52-3167) (45-15-1,196) of FLOWER GIRLS. DEVIL'S ADVOCATE was outwaited by
WHACKING WILLOW in an exciting 10 minute bout. Now, there is a woman who won't give
up. You have to admire that.

GROLSCH (21-5029) (62-12-4,226) of REAL BEER fought PAT (35-2292) (48-51-2,210)
of COMMON JOE'S. GROLSCH won victory over PAT in a 2 minute fray. Does this mean
that common joes can't handle a REAL beer?
PRIMUS (21-4975) (68-17-0,259) of REAL BEER fought PAUL (35-2349) (39-41-2,194)
of COMMON JOE'S. PRIMUS vanquished PAUL in an action packed 1 minute one-sided
match. Apparently so!
HOPE (20-2555) (33-33-1,453) of THE FAMILY TREE fought BLACK FLAG (82-46046)
(36-22-3,182) of TONGUE N CHEEK. HOPE was bested by BLACK FLAG in a popular 3 minute
gory contest. Is this, one must wonder, the death of hope? Well, okay, not the
DEATH, but still.
RUBBER KNIFE (57-2546) (30-7-2,223) of USELESS TOOLS fought AMBER WOLFWALKER
(106-11) (0-0-0,220) of the College of Mimes. RUBBER KNIFE was overpowered by AMBER
WOLFWALKER in a popular 1 minute one-sided bout. Clearly, not the Most Challenged
Rubber Knife here. Some should-be challenger has missed a good bet, though.
FIGHTER ACE (47-1189) (71-47-6,247) of ROYAL FLUSH fought ORANGE CRUSH (48-3809)
(22-10-1,210) of COLORIFIC. FIGHTER ACE devastated ORANGE CRUSH in an exciting 1
minute one-sided fight. And so we should all hope! If someone with rank and
experience over his opponent can't win, who can? Ah, perhaps you shouldn't answer
that one. Let us wonder about it.

And now to the challenge matches:
NERVE RAKER (21-1874) (20-14-1,66) of NOMADIC TRIBE challenged ARAGANT (4-6220)
(35-25-0,69) of THE SHALLOWSHIP. Up 3. NERVE RAKER vanquished ARAGANT in a crowd
pleasing 1 minute one-sided Challenge fray. The end was a sad affair, with Aragant
huddling in the Infirmary, his nerves raked to shreds... I'm fairly sure that was
him.
OLIANDER (7-5911) (19-10-2,78) of SENTINELS challenged RED DRAGON (47-5585) (21-
9-0,85) of CHAOTIX BEASTS. Up 7. OLIANDER defeated RED DRAGON in a popular 3 minute
bloody Challenge duel. In celebration of which the local tavern is offering a new
blend of, ah, something drinkable called, obviously, Red Dragon. I thought at first
it was tea, but that seems unlikely now that I taste it. I believe there's red chile
in it.
SMIRK (39-3606) (29-10-0,84) of CHEAP SHOTS challenged TUNDRA (45-4280) (19-13-
1,92) of ARCTIC WASTES. Up 8. SMIRK outlasted TUNDRA in a crowd pleasing 7 minute
Challenge conflict. A fight of respectable length--we've had a few, and I'm glad to
see it. This is, after all, a SLOW arena.
MESSY MONGREL (71-1896) (14-14-0,45) of DOGS OF WAR challenged ANVIL IRONFIST
(81-84) (26-7-0,76) of DRAGONBANE GUILD. Up 31. MESSY MONGREL bested ANVIL IRONFIST
in an exciting 5 minute bloody Challenge battle. An amazing success for the Mongrel!
Was it inside information or just native talent?
MIKE TYSON (71-360) (24-10-1,95) of BIG BAD BRAWLERS challenged ZIGGY WOLFSBANE
(21-6432) (24-15-0,93) of NOMADIC TRIBE. Down 2. MIKE TYSON savagely defeated ZIGGY
WOLFSBANE in a 3 minute Challenge match. And a brawl it was, even though the arena
recorded didn't name it so.

JAVELIN (82-33234) (9-5-0,100) of THE WEAPONS challenged CRIMSON MIST (8-5047)
(23-10-1,94) of BLOOD RITES. Down 6. JAVELIN handily defeated CRIMSON MIST in a 1
minute one-sided Challenge bout. Well, this IS what javelins do. Although a mist is
an unusual, not to say mythic, target.
BALLIOL BLACKMOON (81-614) (20-11-0,100) of DRAGONBANE GUILD challenged ROXANNE
DE'MORRE (50-3449) (38-33-0,128) of DRUID'S GROVE. Up 28. BALLIOL BLACKMOON was
defeated by ROXANNE DE'MORRE in a 1 minute Challenge fight. Too bad, Balliol. Hmm,
would you be surprised to hear that I'm running out of steam on this "color
reporting" business? If we keep having a lot of fights, I may have to limit myself
to fewer than all of them. The mental strain is incredible.
VAMPIRE (82-29366) (11-1-0,112) of DARK TOADS 04V challenged PUPPY ON PATROL
(71-1613) (22-17-0,127) of DOGS OF WAR. Up 15. VAMPIRE overpowered PUPPY ON PATROL
in a 2 minute uneven Challenge duel. Fine, Vampire wins. But did he have to suck
out the Puppy's blood, right there on the sands in front of everyone? That was over
the top.
MOSGIEL (14-3836) (34-22-2,164) of OTAGO HIGHLANDERS challenged BULL FROG (73-
4547) (27-10-0,163) of THE BULLS. Down 1. MOSGIEL was vanquished by BULL FROG in a
3 minute uneven Challenge duel. A riddle for you: How does a bull frog differ from
a horned toad?
HUNTSMAN (7-5837) (25-6-0,153) of SENTINELS challenged RUBBER KNIFE (54-2038)
(55-44-1,153) of USELESS TOOLS. Straight across. This, I feel sure, must be our
Most Challenged Rubber Knife. HUNTSMAN was overcome by RUBBER KNIFE in an action
packed 3 minute Challenge fight. Gives a new slant on the term "useless," doesn't
it?

SLIPPERY NIPPLE (59-2323) (29-18-1,182) of HANGOVERS challenged CHUCK NORRIS
(71-993) (20-13-1,191) of BIG BAD BRAWLERS. Down 1. SLIPPERY NIPPLE overpowered
CHUCK NORRIS in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge struggle. Yes, I could have predicted
this. The whole concept here was asking for such an outcome.
JACK VALTRAEDS (47-407) (122-75-2,195) of ROYAL FLUSH challenged STIGMA OF
STUPID (31-4948) (37-24-1,197) of UNFIT TO BE ORCS. Up 2. JACK VALTRAEDS demolished
STIGMA OF STUPID in a 1 minute Challenge competition. Which is, after all, what
stupidity is about. Losing.
BOARISH YELTSIN (5-3109) (84-47-2,338) of PARTY ANIMALS challenged WEINERMUN
(37-2635) (66-67-3,231) of ALL THE MUN'S MEN. Down lots. Give me a minute here...
107 points down. Somewhere in the neighborhood of even on fights, though. BOARISH
YELTSIN devastated WEINERMUN in a 1 minute one-sided Challenge contest. And why not?
So many parties are improved by weiner roasts.
LAND OF FLUSH (11-4373) (25-15-0,215) of CONSORTIUM CRAP challenged BLUE BLOOD
(73-3657) (28-19-1,214) of BLACK & BLUE. Down 1. LAND OF FLUSH was viciously
subdued by BLUE BLOOD in a 2 minute Challenge match. Land was, in fact, left black
and blue and red all over.

And for the title:
HARI-KARI (73-3049) (36-5-0,332) of WAY TO GO! II challenged BLOODBATH (60-704)
(76-63-2,222) of BASKET WEAVING 101. Down 110. HARI-KARI was devastated by
BLOODBATH in a 1 minute mismatched Challenge Title fight. So much for a point down-
challenge (though the fights were slanted the other way). Our congratulations to
Bloodbath.

                               PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE

Crysalis -- Crip has been asked to Captain the Crysalis Contingent for the Regional
Rumble coming up this fall. But to be eligible to participate, your warriors are
going to have to be fairly active between now and September. I have contacted the
Consortium, Slugbait, and Mun via e-mail already, but if you are interested, please
either send me an e-mail to garth(underscore)werner(at)rogers(dot)com, or send a
diplo right soonest so we can coordinate a full team. Draft rules include sending up
to 12 warriors (The DM and the Stylemasters on a given turn (Tentatively 7 Sep 09))
plus 2 more warriors to be voted on by the arena regulars), but no more than 2
warriors per manager (And a manager can only have warriors on one regional team
(Andorak, Darkholm, Free Blades, Home Guard, Lirith Kai, Crysalis). But to be
eligible, a warrior will have to fight 2 turns between now and Sept. Rules are still
in flux, but this gives you an idea of what's going on. Most of the planning for
this will be done by e-mail, but I will still send diplos or letters to those who may
not have access to the on-line realm. -- Crip, mgr of Crip's Crap

Mannequin -- So you finally admit to being the manager of War. No more hiding, eh?
You got my invite long ago to show up this turn in Crysalis and we can have our two
go at it for the summer. I hope you show up. You and your buddies think you are
pretty smart but let's see if that transmits into mettle to show up here and throw
the steel. -- The Icelord, 1st Mage, The Council of Lords, Knight Protector of
Chimlevtal

High Lord Bosk -- You will probably win the bet, he will most likely be a no-show.
It would be no surprise, so if he fails to show some brass this turn, you will win
the wicked ale. -- The Icelord

Desperado -- Oh, now that was just embarrassing. Losing I can take, but like that?
Oh my, hopefully the boss wasn't watching. Uhm, uh, nice fight. -- Oliander

Evalon -- Hey, where'd I go?! I fought, shouldn't I be in the newsletter!? I wasn't
that bad! Yeah, I lost, but half of the people who fought lost, and they all got to
be listed. -- Jagare

Picky. Maybe the Split sucked you off to Primus.

Loogie Clap -- Now that is just a disgusting name. And a disgusting fight. But I
will improve. -- Thelonius

Messy Mongrel -- Finally I get a win on this island. It was much appreciated. --
Nerve Raker

Red Dragon -- You are an impressive warrior. You fight well, but that was how that
fight was supposed to go. -- Balliol Blackmoon

Billy Lilly -- If the Commission keeps putting you above me in the rankings, this
will keep happening. You do put up a good fight. - Huntsman

Violent Violet -- You give flowers a bad name. Ouch. But I did hold out for three
minutes. That counts for something, right? No, not really. Nice challenge and win.
-- Ziggy

Well, it would appear that our numbers are back down to something manageable. This
is good. Not that I'm going to do much managing, I have a reputation to sustain
here! -- Jorja, Dodge Bullets

Huntsman -- You want hunting, come with me. I'll show you bears that will curl your
toenails, boy! -- Billy Lilly

Samurai Striker -- Why would you want to strike a samurai? What have the samurai
ever done to you? -- Young Joan

Gimlet -- Having an eye that bores holes in trees isn't enough, unless you're
fighting trees. -- Ghost Dancer

Unholy Terror -- I don't DO terror, especially not of the unholy variety. Alarm,
yes, you could probably alarm me lots. But not terror. -- Amelia

Oliander -- Not bad for a girly half-elf. -- Desperado the suave and tactful

Smirk -- Sez you! -- Folmor Grigg, smirking in retirement

Phillip the Bird -- I would be delighted to be part of the cutbacks, but our team got
the short straw. -- Billy Lilly

Nerve Raker -- Definitely selfless and compassionate. Come by our place and I'll
give you a slice of pie. -- Gaffer Smith
