Reflections by the Chief Tower Guard
Okay, okay, I am here again. Cannonball should know that the use of big black
cannon weapons is no way to bring a gal to her knees. Shame on Cannonball! But the
guy did have some nice big round orbs. Oh, yeah? Enough to put a scare in little
ole me. But I showed him. It is surprising what a little lust and attention can do
to a man. Very surprising.
But I don't want to talk about that line of work or gladiating for that matter.
I am trying to be done with both. Enough is enough. I am planning and strategizing
on a new career, and I have found the perfect one for me. I want to be a Consultant.
I am currently in training and I have already learned a lot of the playbookay:
a. Bill by the hour, no matter what task is performed--whether advising,
phoning, texting, writing reports, looking up internet stuff--difficult and sweaty
tasks all
b. Sign up for out-of-office jobs, so you can charge for travel time also; I
like being paid to drive, fly, or even sit reading while waiting in airports
c. Never be finite. Know stuff. Report stuff. But always use probable or
possible or potential or optimal, etc.
d. Extend, prolong, practice getting the most out of the circumstance
e. Constantly proclaim and sell thy greatness; know innocuous stuff that no one
else does (or wants to)
So I think I am ready I have a great mentor working with me. Perhaps this will be my
last Face as a gladiator.

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Our last meeting before the Summer Face to Face. Let's see what we've got.
Significant point movements, Cyan up 33, Uncle Fester down 21. Same fight.
Most avoided, Sentinels. Most avoiding them Royal Flush. Most challenged,
Cannonball.
Forty-four fights, five challenges, twenty-five standbys. Twenty-five? Is that
lots of avoids at work, or just really good/bad luck? I'm tempted to do just the
challenges, or at least only those fights without standbys, but... what the heck.
The sun is shining, breakfast is almost ready even if it IS fish, and you might need
something to read while you wait for tourney turns to process. So....
HU YAN ZHUO (52-849) (20-27-0,38) of WAH CHING fought PLUTONIUM PUNCH (29-5669)
(22-9-0,75) of METAL MINCERS. HU YAN ZHUO was luckily beaten by PLUTONIUM PUNCH in
an exciting 5 minute battle. Five minutes of holes punched and punched and punched.
Sounds to me like this Hu Yan Zhuo is one tough dude.
G W BUSH (59-2764) (30-26-1,80) of TALL TALES fought SKI MASK (58-5869) (66-111-
1,50) of CIRQUE DU MASQUES. G W BUSH demolished SKI MASK in a 1 minute mismatched
match. Not a surprise.
MINDQUAKE (72-5861) (20-17-0,64) of TWISTED SISTERS fought KING MIDAS (59-2770)
(28-22-1,40) of TALL TALES. MINDQUAKE was overpowered by KING MIDAS in a 1 minute
uneven competition. The King does not quake in his crown! Or his boots either.
CYAN (82-42183) (13-11-1,51) of SAPHIRE DREAM fought UNCLE FESTER (59-2768) (33-
23-1,90) of TALL TALES. CYAN narrowly defeated UNCLE FESTER in an action packed 3
minute bout. This is the fight that led to the big point movements, and you can see
why.
YOSEMITE (8-5231) (19-1-0,39) of SMITHSONIAN fought NEFARA (50-3785) (15-12-
1,58) of PUBLIC ENEMY. YOSEMITE savagely defeated NEFARA in a popular 15 minute
gruesome battle. Fifteen minutes? What happened to Old Faithful? There should have
been boiling and blasting here.
SCOUNDREL (84-7048) (8-4-1,57) of PROBLEM CAUSERS fought DART (8-4586) (20-14-
1,60) of X-FORCE. SCOUNDREL was unbelievably bested by DART in an exciting 5 minute
brutal conflict. I dunno, *I* can believe it. Although Dart taking five minutes may
be a little lazy? Or maybe it was just strategy, eh?
LORD FOUL (59-1395) (26-32-2,105) of BLOODGUARD fought R BAGGIO (17-4867) (20-
11-1,127) of ITALIAN FOOTBALL. LORD FOUL bested R BAGGIO in a crowd pleasing 1
minute match. Warning: Do not play football with Italians!
GLACIER (58-5887) (45-52-0,144) of CIRQUE DU MASQUES fought MAD COW DISEASE (11-
7493) (20-3-1,104) of BULLDOGS. GLACIER was viciously subdued by MAD COW DISEASE in
a crowd pleasing 2 minute duel. And it took a mad cow to make the attempt, too.
JIVE (25-624) (112-72-1,203) of CRYPTICS fought TELGOR (106-27) (0-0-0,200) of
the College of Mimes. JIVE was demolished by TELGOR in a crowd pleasing 3 minute
brutal uneven duel. The first standby, and a win for Telgor, who will be out on the
sands again.
LAR'EH WALKER (60-5825) (20-9-1,200) of INGRATE WHITE NORTH fought RIRORNI COOK
(106-24) (0-0-0,181) of the College of Mimes. LAR'EH WALKER was handily defeated by
RIRORNI COOK in a 1 minute one-sided duel. That's a second win for the standbys.
F.O.A.D. (73-442) (42-19-2,208) of ALPHABET SOUP fought CRYSALIS GUARD (106-29)
(0-0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. F.O.A.D. viciously subdued CRYSALIS GUARD in a
crowd pleasing 3 minute brutal bout. And the Guard's ambitions exceed his abilities.
SITS ON HIS DUFF (73-1810) (49-31-4,185) of THINGS GEORGE DOES fought TELGOR
(106-27) (0-0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. SITS ON HIS DUFF was demolished by
TELGOR in a popular 1 minute one-sided duel. Second win for Telgor.
LONDON QUIREBOY (59-2513) (46-23-1,190) of CHAPEL ROCK fought ARENAMASTER
SANDAVOL (106-28) (0-0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. LONDON QUIREBOY was handily
defeated by ARENAMASTER SANDAVOL in a 3 minute fight. Arenamasters often do that.
IMMOVEABLE OBJECT (59-2110) (50-23-2,198) of NOT QUITE fought ARENAMASTER
SANDAVOL (106-28) (0-0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. IMMOVEABLE OBJECT was
devastated by ARENAMASTER SANDAVOL in a 3 minute battle. Even twice in a row.
Amazing stamina.

VERMICIOUS KNID in a 4 minute contest. I gotta tell you, things are looking good for
the standbys, which means they are NOT looking good for everybody else.

BLACKSMITH in a popular 3 minute gruesome bout. What is this, Let The Standbys Win

0,181) of the College of Mimes. VIKING RAIDER was luckily beaten by CLOTTO in an
action packed 2 minute gory duel. I've never thought Clotto paid much attention to
training, but maybe I'm wrong.

(20-13-1,167) of LUROCIAN DEVILS. FIGHTER ACE subdued TEMPTRESS in an exciting 1
minute melee. Two managed gladiators in a random match! Incredible.

(0-0-0,181) of the College of Mimes. THE COUNT savagely defeated THE BLACKSMITH in a
popular 2 minute gory duel. Right, we counted on that.

0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. THE LION KING overpowered TELGOR in a 2 minute
brutal uneven fight. Aha! A loss for Telgor!

action packed 2 minute one-sided match. More oomph than I expected from Clotto.
It's probably the name, which makes me think of a clown.

minute brutal fight. Well, of course. I knew Tim wasn't a real drinker.

(24-14-1,200) of COLORIFIC. HARI-KARI overpowered ORANGE CRUSH in a 2 minute uneven
match. Yes, but what a mess! Once you take and whack the can open, you've got
orange soda everywhere--you'd be amazed at how far it will spew.
FIVE GOLDEN RINGS (16-4331) (44-15-0,223) of GOLDEN GLADIATORS fought RUBBER
KNIFE (54-2038) (72-47-1,198) of USELESS TOOLS. FIVE GOLDEN RINGS outlasted RUBBER
KNIFE in an action packed 9 minute gory duel. Does this prove that the Rubber Knife
is useless? No! Only for some things.
BODDINGTON'S (21-5035) (34-19-0,224) of REAL BEER fought CRYSALIS GUARD (106-29)
(0-0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. BODDINGTON'S lost to CRYSALIS GUARD in an
action packed 4 minute gruesome duel. The Guard's only win.

28) (0-0-0,200) of the College of Mimes. ROWDY YOBBO overpowered ARENAMASTER

dream by defeating an arenamaster.
