The Isle of the Eye:
They didn't get to see Sheila Greywand, which was a surprise. Some sort of
secretary told them that she was "very busy." They should take their trophy, which
might or might not be the Eye of the South, to the Stronghold Academy and turn it
over to Senior Wizard Tanrith. Then he shut the door in their faces.
"You would think," Mr. Testosterone muttered angrily, "that after sending us--
personally sending us, at that--on a special mission of 'surpassing importance',
she'd want to at least hear our report in person and ask us some questions."
"One might think that," Bellerophon agreed. "I suppose she might be occupied
with more pressing matters," he went on slowly, staring at the shut door.
"We were given to understand that there WERE no more pressing matters than
finding out what happened to the Eyes," Tamea Soulkeeper growled. "But not only are
we turned away at her door, we could barely get onto the Isle at all!"
"That might be one of the more pressing matters," Skirnir suggested.
"Ha! I know when I've been insulted." Tamea glared at the door. "It would
serve her right if we didn't take the Eye to the Academy."
"No, WE should do things properly, even if SHE is too busy," E.A. Polecat cut
in. "Besides, what would we do with the thing?" He looked at the towel-wrapped
bundle uneasily.
"And even if we, you know, get away with it now," Debby Tonte predicted, "SHE
will notice later on, and then we'll be in trouble. SHE always notices sooner or
later."
"What's the point in arguing?" Onuphre asked. "We're going to take it to the
Stronghold Academy, to this Senior Wizard, so let's just do it. I want to go back to
my guildhouse, take a hot bath, get a good meal, and a night's sleep in a real bed
for a change." He glanced sideways at Debby. "Not that the Rithakar Hilton wasn't
okay, but I want my own bed."
"I agree," Natasha Knight said from the back of the group. "Let's just get rid
of the thing and be done with all this. Where is the Stronghold Academy from here?"
She moved to the outer door and peered into the fog uncertainly.
Debby tugged her beach jacket more securely around her well-tanned figure and
stepped out into the fog. "It's right down there." She gestured at nothing visible
to the others.
The gladiators glanced at each other. Bellerophon shrugged. "She always lands
on her feet," he murmured. "She probably does know where the Academy is, and we want
to get rid of this. Let's go."
They went.
Ten minutes brisk walk brought them to a stout brick wall topped with iron
spikes. The porter at the heavy gate, a pale, weedy specimen who looked more like a
student of magic than any kind of guard, let them in without argument, and directed
them to Tanrith's workroom.
Tanrith looked old, as befitted a senior wizard. He also looked tired, but that
was not their problem. He took the towel-wrapped stone from them, set it on a bare
table, and unwrapped it. The stone was a sphere a little bigger than a man's head,
chalky white, smooth but dull of surface, and faint shadows cast by nothing visible
moved just under its skin.
The wizard sighed. "This was, indeed, one of the Eyes," he said. "It's beyond
recovery now, poor thing. Best to put it out of its misery...."
"You make it sound like something alive," E.A. Polecat muttered.
"It is. Or it was. The records state plainly that when Lady Greywand created
the Eyes, each was built around the soul, spirit, or whatever you want to call it, of
a living person. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did."
"Why?" Tamea Soulkeeper leaned forward intently. "Why should they not survive
for even longer when preserved by spells?"
"Nothing but the vast mind of a Great Dragon lasts without decay for more than a
few hundred years in nature. Spells may extend that period to as much as a thousand
years, but beyond that point...no." The old man sighed. "Oh, to be sure, you can
keep it GOING with spells, but it changes. Memory frays away, personality twists
into new channels, and the resilience of the healthy mind is lost. The mind may
retain function, indeed, it may be quite powerful, but it isn't sane by any measure."
Nobody said anything. Bellerophon didn't look at the other gladiators, but in
his mind was the awareness that Sheila Greywand was considerably more than a thousand
years old. Was this man saying SHE was insane? Impossible...or was it?
"That's two of the Eyes recovered," Tanrith went on. "The East and the South.
Good work."
"And luck," Bellerophon said. "Luck, and help when we needed it."
"If the Eyes are useless now," Tamea asked, "what happens to the Arcanum and
magic?"
"Nobody knows for sure," the old wizard said. "Disruption of normal life, at
the least. Beyond that, we must wait and see."

Talahya?
"I'm not sure that would be a good idea," Fizban said cautiously. "We don't
know where we are, but we DO know that the Gate we came through must be near here.
If we go farther away, we could lose track of our route home."
Moonjumper patted his hand. "It's okay, we're as lost as we'll ever be
already!"
"What wonderful news." The old wizard sighed.
"Besides, we're Lord Protectors," Scarlatti pointed out, straightening up from
his examination of the water. "Part of our DUTY is to explore new realms."
"And our pleasure, as well," Carris Fallstar agreed. "Let's see if there is a
boat, a ferry or some other boat. I feel like sailing!"
Fizban looked from one to another of his companions, shook his head slightly,
and sighed. Maybe it was a sign of his age, but he really didn't like the idea of
getting completely lost. At least here, there was the illusion that by retracing
their steps, they could find the Gate they'd come through and return to the Isle.
Rodan leaned closer to him. "It will be okay," the blind gladiator murmured.
"I can retrace a long route as easily as a short one. And it is better to do
something, even something wrong, than to do nothing."
Lirin Kiv?
The carriage moved through the streets slowly, as though the driver was feeling
his way in the fog. The fog wasn't heavy enough to justify that kind of groping
progress, but Shylock kept quiet. No point in berating the driver. Besides, the
Lord Protector was also making full use of the chance to stare around. So was
Clemenda, he noted, well, that was okay. He didn't normally like people around him
to be TOO alert, but in this peculiar situation, no telling what might be significant
and who might notice it first.
The temple to Somebody Who Wasn't Mantor vanished behind them. Shylock counted
turns and blocks and finally set his teeth against possible disaster and looked
toward where the arena should have been. Hmm. Not the same structure, but there
were points of similarity.
It might be an arena.
Sorry to be so brief, but time and heat is pressing. More to come, if it rains. --

THE GUARDIAN'S FORUM
Reflections by the Champion of the Horn
Well...here I am again. I don't quite know how this keeps happening. Actually
perhaps I do; I've been a gladiator for so long that I've gotten tolerably dangerous
in spite of myself.
I wasn't originally eight feet tall, you know. I was seven feet, rather short
for a troll. That was how I got into gladiating in the first place; they wouldn't
allow anyone over seven feet and my family wanted someone on the Isle so they could
have a voice with Lady Greywand. Not that I had any great skill, mind you. Any
aptitude that I show for this sport, I have learned through long years of practice
and many, many painful lessons in the arena.
Ah, you may be wondering why my family wanted an "in" with Sheila Greywand?
Well, the Commission document that Larkin quoted last turn pretty much says it all.
"Trolls are large, vaguely gorilla-like bipeds of dubious intelligence.... They
appear to be right on the borderline of sentience; they can be taught language but
they do not possess it themselves." That pretty much sums up public opinion of
trolls throughout Alastari and other nearby regions. With press like that, do you
think we enjoy the same legal rights as humans, elves and dwarves? No we do not. My
family are bridge-trolls. That is, they build bridges in places where bridges are
needed and then they charge a fee for crossing. It isn't normally a big fee, just a
penny or two, but the profits can pile up pretty quickly if the troll has been wise
enough to place a bridge where it is most needed. The less popular bridges may have
higher fees in order to cover the cost of their construction.
Now, I know you have heard lies about trolls and bridges. Human children are
taught that it is human or dwarven engineers who build bridges, that trolls sometimes
move in and start up a toll "racket" or else simply feed on the innocent people who
wish to cross. Do you know what trolls really eat? Look in your cupboard. We eat
the same things you eat--unless you eat sentient creatures, in which case we don't.
And like many little cultural enclaves of humans, we pursue a traditional profession;
in the case of trolls it is construction. Because of our strength we are well suited
to it. A troll can place three one-ton building stones while a human crew is getting
a block and tackle on one. Dwarven architects often subcontract their work out to
trollish families, I'll bet you didn't know that! Some families specialize in towers
or castles, some in city walls, and some--like mine--in bridges. Most of the other
specialties get paid when they are supposed to (dwarves are good about that), but
bridge-trolls must receive their pay from the general public and that is why the bad
press hurts us so much. Which is why I have gone to all this trouble to become a
Lord Protector in order to show that a troll can be as noble and honorable as anyone
else. And I suppose I shall have to prove it by going on adventures, but--damn it!--
I want to see that Commission definition changed NOW!
Phetmolge, a troll and proud of it
REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Here we are, on yet another hot day, and let me tell you, here on the lake--if
we are, in fact, on the lake, which seems to be questionable--hot comes with humid,
and it's miserable. Phetmolge, a good column, for which I thank you. It isn't often
a Champion of the Horn has such a powerful issue to address--I say a powerful issue,
because there's a rumor going around "from unimpeachable sources that The Dripping
Blade uses trolls in their stew." I am assuming, since we don't have a branch of the
Dripping Blade franchise here in Lirin Kiv, that Alarond, who passed the rumor on to
me, did so because we have a Troll on the throne here. Maybe we need a short, sharp
crusade against the eating of Trolls, eh? Although I believe it was demonstrated in
Lapur once that Trolls taste AWFUL. Maybe that's why so few people eat at the
Dripping Blade.
House of Cards was avoided by Dark Toads. Deadbolt was most challenged, getting
more of those challenges than the Champion of the Horn. Guess he looked easier to
beat. We had twenty-eight fights, with ten of them being challenge matches, but the
bad news is: six standbys fought. Can't have that. Either get some more warriors
in, or we'll have to get some of the Sand Dancers, those premiere fighters of
standbys, to sit out.
Without further ado and adon't, since I have an invitation to lunch with a lady,
here are the fights.
VELOXI (38-4233) (13-4-0,71) of DARK TOADS fought VALLANT (38-4151) (23-6-1,79)
of BLENDING ENTHRONED. VELOXI handily defeated VALLANT in a 1 minute one-sided
fight. I see. The V alone is not enough, you have to have the X to go with it.
Make a note of this, all you who want to change your name for more punch.
TIRYA (46-3594) (16-22-0,62) of SAND DANCERS fought FRIAR TUCK (1-7105) (18-5-
0,34) of DARK TOADS. TIRYA defeated FRIAR TUCK in an action packed 1 minute fight.
Haven't these two fought before? And isn't this match a little unfair? I hope the
skills were good.
DAMORETH STENN (65-6105) (24-24-0,49) of SAND DANCERS fought RIRORNI SOLDIER
(107-3) (0-0-0,30) of Miscellaneous People. DAMORETH STENN was overpowered by
RIRORNI SOLDIER in a 1 minute uneven competition. And here is somebody who
DEFINITELY needs to improve his punch, whether by a name change, a strategy change,
ro whatever. This performance, or lack of performance, has netted Damoreth Stenn the
non-coveted bottom spot in the rankings.
SARGEN DENJO (74-2723) (29-13-0,38) of SAND DANCERS fought ALASTARIAN DESERTER
(107-1) (0-0-0,30) of Miscellaneous People. SARGEN DENJO handily defeated ALASTARIAN
DESERTER in a 2 minute uneven bout. Better. Not impressive, but better than his
teammate did.
SELA TYL VARAN (74-2897) (15-17-0,48) of SAND DANCERS fought UNEMPLOYED PERSON
(107-5) (0-0-0,70) of Miscellaneous People. SELA TYL VARAN was vanquished by
UNEMPLOYED PERSON in a 1 minute uneven bout. Do I get a hint of someone who's going
to attempt to retire before the next fights? Tune in next cycle and see!
DARLINA (74-2995) (17-11-2,36) of SAND DANCERS fought CAPTURED PIRATE KING (107-
2) (0-0-0,30) of Miscellaneous People. DARLINA vanquished CAPTURED PIRATE KING in a
1 minute brutal one-sided fight. As Xara said of last time, Pirate Kings, especially
those who get captured, are wusses. Or over-pushes, if you prefer that term. I'm
not picky.
ZHAL (77-1456) (29-43-0,28) of SAND DANCERS fought LANIK MUELLER (65-3632) (14-
6-2,67) of HOUSE OF CARDS. ZHAL was overpowered by LANIK MUELLER in a popular 1
minute one-sided duel. Despite this loss, admittedly less embarrassing than Stenn's,
Zhal has moved out of the bottom position. How high can he go before someone smacks
him down again?
BRAND (82-13289) (8-6-0,69) of TOADS OF AMBER III fought XARA (78-2254) (18-8-
0,48) of SAND DANCERS. BRAND viciously butchered XARA in an exciting 2 minute gory
bout. Definitely vicious, and probably unprincipled. I don't think Xara's going to
be happy with you, Brand. And I suppose this proves that an X alone is not enough,
either.
I TOL'YA THE PUN (65-2154) (69-118-1,144) of GENERAL MAYHEM fought KYRLANIA (70-
2327) (54-70-1,134) of SCARLET KNIGHTS. I TOL'YA THE PUN beat KYRLANIA in an action
packed 3 minute gruesome fray. Some people just have no head for puns. Sad, when
you think about it. While a pun isn't the HIGHEST form of humor, it can definitely
be funny.
ZALMARDARIN (78-312) (34-65-2,173) of THE DRAGON FIST fought FLOYD (107-10) (0-
0-0,150) of Miscellaneous People. ZALMARDARIN beat FLOYD in an action packed 1
minute brutal fight. Whoopee-do. Not to belittle your accomplishment, Zalmaradarin,
but it isn't beating a lower-ranked standby that's worthy of note, it's losing to
one. Try to lose to the next one, okay?
CORT NIGHTJEWEL (78-196) (42-54-0,169) of THE DRAGON FIST fought FLOYD (107-10)
(0-0-0,150) of Miscellaneous People. CORT NIGHTJEWEL overpowered FLOYD in a crowd
pleasing 2 minute mismatched fight. And you'll note it took Cort TWO minutes, even
though his teammate had softened up ol' Floyd beforehand. What? Of course it was
the same Floyd! How many do you think we HAVE here?
IT'S A BOY (78-841) (76-68-3,194) of BAD NEWS fought RUSTLING BREEZE (33-6478)
(24-20-1,170) of THE WASTING FIELD. IT'S A BOY was demolished by RUSTLING BREEZE in
a 1 minute one-sided bout. Kind of surprising to see a boy blown away by a gentle
breeze, isn't it? And such an OLD boy, too.
CYLADIA (51-1122) (80-93-0,198) of SKAITHVARN fought KHORA THE SMALL (78-519)
(91-128-3,193) of SAND DANCERS. CYLADIA was devastated by KHORA THE SMALL in an
exciting 1 minute one-sided brawl. This didn't get Khora back to top basherdom, but
it's definitely a step in the right direction. Maybe her temper will improve a
little, too.
TRAM SATANS BLOOD (65-1106) (54-51-2,203) of SANGUINE SAINTS fought THE
QUICKLING (70-1669) (43-93-2,166) of SCARLET KNIGHTS. TRAM SATANS BLOOD handily
defeated THE QUICKLING in a 2 minute mismatched bout. And this while simultaneously
dancing a jig and playing a tune on a penny-whistle. A man of parts, our Tram. Good
work.
DARKMOON BLACKFELL (75-862) (65-57-2,194) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought TAIRIKIA
(51-4247) (56-60-0,183) of SAND DANCERS. DARKMOON BLACKFELL defeated TAIRIKIA in an
action packed 3 minute struggle. Which is likely to result in annoyed comments from
the Delarquan.
BAT (74-2742) (55-66-1,195) of DARKLINGS fought SUNDOWN (75-1222) (34-23-1,157)
of ELANTI HUNTERS. BAT overpowered SUNDOWN in a popular 2 minute gruesome mismatched
conflict. Actually, bats don't NORMALLY come out until AFTER sundown. What do you
suppose got him moving early? And will Sundown ever get her hair untangled?
NIGHTFALL (74-2421) (72-85-2,192) of DARKLINGS fought NAPPER LEON (65-2153) (94-
136-1,182) of GENERAL MAYHEM. NIGHTFALL was handily defeated by NAPPER LEON in a 1
minute one-sided contest. Ouch! Looks like Leon caught you napping, Nightfall
(Moonrise) of Darklings.
STILE (65-5941) (30-20-1,211) of SPLIT INFINITY 2 fought SMOLDER DARKSUN (78-
513) (52-48-0,185) of THE DRAGON FIST. STILE savagely defeated SMOLDER DARKSUN in an
exciting 2 minute bloody match. Is this a case of tooling up for the tourney? If
so, we wish Stile the best of luck. And if not, we still wish Stile the best of
luck.
And the challenge matches--
SHYLOCK (75-2602) (26-17-1,146) of DARK TOADS challenged ALYAHOODI (11-2219)
(44-62-1,178) of HOLY SLAUGHTER. Up 32. SHYLOCK overpowered ALYAHOODI in a popular
3 minute uneven Challenge match. Clearly, in Shylock we're seeing a very handy man
with a blade, and one whose manager is paying attention besides. These little
details count.
*PRECIOUS THINGS* (65-3340) (28-24-0,180) of LITTLE EARTHQUAKES challenged
WINDSONG (75-1425) (49-26-2,206) of ELANTI HUNTERS. Up 26. *PRECIOUS THINGS* lost
to WINDSONG in a 2 minute gory Challenge duel. Well, Precious, I wouldn't want you
to think I hold a grudge, or anything of that nature, but I gotta say, your asterisks
are a nuisance. Every time I hit one of them, my brain shorts out.
JAMMIES (74-2829) (49-44-1,193) of DARKLINGS challenged EYES IN FLOWER (65-2960)
(81-67-1,196) of GENERAL MAYHEM. Up 3. JAMMIES was vanquished by EYES IN FLOWER in
a 1 minute one-sided Challenge duel. Sorry, Jammies, but sometimes seeing that teddy
bear on your shield gives your opponents nasty ideas. And sometimes those nasty
ideas move them to nasty actions.
BLEYS (82-13278) (21-7-2,200) of TOADS OF AMBER challenged DEBATOR (76-1233)
(110-120-5,206) of CREW MONIKER. Up 6. BLEYS was overcome by DEBATOR in an action
packed 1 minute Challenge melee. As you see, Debator knows all the answers. Age is
good for something... if you care about answers, anyway.
WINSTON (75-2600) (35-10-0,185) of DARK TOADS challenged DEADBOLT (70-1664) (64-
79-2,199) of SCARLET KNIGHTS. Up 14. WINSTON unbelievably bested DEADBOLT in a
popular 3 minute Challenge competition. Hey, I believe it! And so does Deadbolt.
It's unmistakeable, in fact. Good show, Winston.
NORMANDY (65-4916) (22-16-3,184) of DOOMSDAY4DOOMCORPS challenged DEANJLI TYL
RHU (76-1970) (68-54-0,253) of SAND DANCERS. Up 69. NORMANDY was devastated by
DEANJLI TYL RHU in a 2 minute one-sided Challenge duel. Yep, Deanjli is definitely a
warrior with an agenda. Odd, when you realize she's a Sand Dancer.
ROBERTO LEATHAM (65-6232) (24-18-1,210) of SPLIT INFINITY challenged NIGHTINGALE
(74-2423) (74-83-2,259) of DARKLINGS. Up 49. ROBERTO LEATHAM was overpowered by
NIGHTINGALE in a 1 minute Challenge fight. Devastated, in fact, by a piercing C
above high C.
NIGHTCAP (74-2745) (49-71-0,202) of DARKLINGS challenged TALON WARSMITH (99-101)
(47-76-7,212) of SCARLET KNIGHTS. Up 10. NIGHTCAP was savagely defeated by TALON
WARSMITH in a 2 minute Challenge duel. But not killed, for which she should be
grateful. Just because a man fights in Lirin Kiv and professes belief in Mantor
doesn't mean he's a true Adantri in spirit. This man is a killer, a blood-smeared
slaughterer of gladiators, and don't you forget it.
ZALGOR PRIGG (82-15204) (21-9-0,188) of MUTANT LEAGUE II challenged TORYN TYL
DAGEDA (74-2777) (52-41-4,213) of SAND DANCERS. Up 25. ZALGOR PRIGG was demolished
by TORYN TYL DAGEDA in a 1 minute Challenge melee. Hmm, another Sand Dancer who
appears to have an agenda. What is the world coming to?
And for the Horn, honorably challenging rather than leaving it to the
handicapper (a whimsical sort): ALIX (74-2701) (27-12-0,224) of CHEYSULI & LIR
challenged PHETMOLGE (37-1555) (128-135-1,266) of UP TO NO GOOD. Up 42. ALIX was
bested by PHETMOLGE in a crowd pleasing 4 minute Challenge Title fight. A good try,
Alix, and a good showing, Phetmolge. I salute you both.

PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE
Damoreth Stenn -- There is nothing evil about the letter X. I would recommend
Damorex Venn if I were in your shoes. Who knows? It may even help your record...if
nothing else, it will make your name more memorable. -- Veloxi
Xara -- I guess I have decided to give up this life...you must be psychic. -- Marian
of Ravenskeep
All -- Sorry for the shortage of personal ads...things always get so busy around
tourney time. -- TigToad
Understood. But try to justify it by bringing us back some Championships, okay?
Eyes in Flower -- I hope you are feeling better. I am; I really didn't appreciate
that groin hit, though. Even we elves have a bit of sensitivity there. -- Phetmolge
Larkin -- All right, all right. One column, coming up. (sigh) I feel a mighty
upsurge of nothing-to-say, but I'll try. -- Phetmolge
"Nothing-to-say" doesn't stop anyone else.
Napper Leon -- I'm very sorry that you died. It was a wonderful fight in the
beginning, and I really think you should have gotten something for it; a skill or a
train or at least some recognition points. -- Nightingale
Normandy -- Wow, that was a closie. Glad I was able to help you out with that train.
I think you'll go far. -- Nightcap
Sundown -- It was a good fight, wasn't it? Through most of it I didn't know which of
us would win. But fighting an old battle axe like me, you should have learned
something. Pay closer attention next time. -- Cyladia
P.S. Not literally an old Battle Axe, of course, since I was the first and only Miss
Darkholm.
Toryn tyl Dageda -- Good luck finding natural water on the Isle, especially now. --
Cyladia
Alyahoodi -- You looked kinda flashy in the first round but you seemed to give up
after that. What happened? -- Bat
*Precious Things* -- You're a werecat? If you don't mind my asking, what sort of cat
do you turn into? -- Jammies
P.S. How did you like my blankie, as Larkin called it?
Cort Nightjewel -- I really like your name. It's just an arena name, isn't it? It
sounds so exotic! That was a nice series of attacks in the first round but I think
you need to wear a helmet. -- Nightfall
Brand -- Welcome to Lirin Kiv. -- the Darklings
Bleys -- WELL done, sir! -- Tairikia
Zalgor Prigg -- Don't get in my way here; I'm on a roll! -- Deanjli tyl Rhu
Lanik Mueller -- I know I'm active to give newcomers someone to beat, but I don't
have to LIKE it. -- Sela tyl Varan
Zalmardarin -- It offends me that you should dare call yourself a dragon. You are a
poor figure of one. -- Toryn tyl Dageda
Tram Satans Blood -- You're no gentleman! -- Khora the Small and Furious
Brand -- What are you doing with that hot iron? Wait! No! Get it away from me! --
Sargen Denjo
Pirate Kings are passee. -- Xara
Veloxi -- I would have THOUGHT that a Z, in fact, a ZH, would outweigh a mere V and
X. -- Zhal
Nope.
R.O.U.S. -- I can't stand rats. You knew that, didn't you? -- Darlina
Vallant -- (sigh) I should've stuck to fishing. In fact, I'm going fishing this
evening, if I don't get killed or seriously injured. Want to come along? -- Damoreth
Stenn
Friar Tuck -- I hate it when people call me "little lady." -- Tirya
Larkin -- I don't do bookies. -- Darlina
Somebody's got to.
Veloxi -- I KNOW the X and V are the source of your power. That's what I was
complaining about! What good are a mere G and J against an X and V? -- Sargen Denjo
Maybe you have "Grape Juice" power?
Larkin -- (with a dangerous glint in her eye) "Toots"? -- Deanjli tyl Rhu

ANNOUNCING THE RETURN OF STORMCROWE SLAUGHTERHOUSE
The last Stormcrowe Slaughterhouse was one of the closest and most exciting
contests ever held in Alastari. Such an epic demands a sequel. Therefore, Master
Darque and Jack Wolfspider are pleased to announce the return of the Stormcrowe
Slaughterhouse.
Where? Stormcrowe DM 45 (slow). When? The Slaughterhouse returns on Turn 207,
due August 19. How can you get into the action? Bring a team (one per entrant
please) to arena 45 and announce your intention to join the contest in the Personals.
Rules: This time around the rules are very simple. Each warrior win against a
higher rated opponent (one or more points higher in the ratings) brings you 10
points, against even rated opponent 7 points, lower rated 5 points. Wins against
NPCs or by a warrior who downchallenges are worth 0 points. Points are doubled for
kills. All warriors in the arena whether participating in the Slaughterhouse or not
are fair game. Points are totaled weekly, and the contestant whose team has racked
up the most points at the end of 10 turns is declared Slaughterhouse Champion.
Prizes: To be announced; we're still talking with RSI about it. Figure it will
be something pretty good. But hey, who needs prizes when the honor of being
Slaughterhouse Champion awaits!
More info: Master Darque, MasterDarqueDM@aol.com, or Jack Wolfspider,
russtulp@aol.com. Or diplo Darque Forces (428) or Dynastic (433) in Arena 45.
