Reflections by the Champion of the Horn
A good try, Fengar, and I would have yielded the throne and the Horn to you
(had you been able to take them from me), but it was not to be. I wonder if I could
be accumulating something like "advanced political points" which are pushing me
toward induction? I hope not, but it is, as I well know, a vain hope in many ways.
Not the advanced political points perhaps, but the impending induction. That looms.
I would much rather go home and engage in desperate adventures than remain here and
get sucked into Primus.

REPORT FROM WITHIN THE TOWER
Olaf Modeen remembers this place well. Does that thrill you and make you feel
all warm and fuzzy? What I want to know is, when was he here? Did he sneak in one
day when I wasn't looking? I mean to discover the inner secrets of this!
But not today. Today, we have, as usual, a few fights.
Darklings was Most Avoided, by Dark Toads. Probably a case of like poles
repelling each other.
Tairikia was Most Challenged.
There were twenty-six fights, including three involving standbys. That is,
twenty-six we're going to take note of. Actually, the other standbys fought each
other, to keep their hands, feet, and elbows in, but we pretend we don't notice.
Eight of those fights were challenge matches, and one of them involved a tv
challenge.
The longest fight was fourteen minutes, which is respectably wrong, I mean,
long. To the warriors involved goes a chocolate covered peanut apiece.
If somebody died, I missed the note but will probably run across it below. And
if not, I won't run across it below. These things always balance out.
SHEN (65-4973) (19-10-0,81) of BATTLE SCHOOL fought UNEMPLOYED PERSON (107-5)
(0-0-0,70) of Miscellaneous Fans. SHEN was viciously subdued by UNEMPLOYED PERSON in
an exciting 3 minute gory duel. Thus leading to an invitation to work for the
Unemployed Person. Rumor has it that this fearsome standby refused the job offer,
saying that such by-the-clock activity was beneath him.
JAY HOWELL (74-3177) (18-11-0,67) of 1988 DODGERS fought UNEMPLOYED PERSON (107-
5) (0-0-0,70) of Miscellaneous Fans. JAY HOWELL vanquished UNEMPLOYED PERSON in an
action packed 1 minute one-sided fray. Whereupon, another warrior turned around and
trashed the arrogant and lazy Unemployed Person, to loud cheers from all.
LADY BLUE (65-4777) (17-12-0,90) of SPLIT INFINITY fought CAPTURED PIRATE KING
(107-2) (0-0-0,30) of Miscellaneous Fans. LADY BLUE savagely defeated CAPTURED
PIRATE KING in a 2 minute brutal melee. We have a very low class of Captured Pirate
Kings here. Most of them couldn't fight their way out of paper bags, in the unlikely
event that such activity was required. This is why they were captured, of course.
They were lured into paper bags by pieces of eight, and also pieces of nine and ten,
and the bags were close by springs, whereupon, as noted above, they couldn't fight
their way out.
TIRYA (46-3594) (22-32-0,80) of SAND DANCERS fought FLIGHT (75-2606) (21-14-
2,73) of PARANOID ASYLUM. TIRYA was overpowered by FLIGHT in a popular 1 minute one-
sided duel. Excellent work, Flight! You seem to have gotten the instinctive
reaction right this time. Fight, not flight, for the fighter Flight.
KING LOVE (40-3748) (19-16-2,87) of SUNNYLAND fought DISORDER (65-6419) (19-9-
1,52) of PARANOIA. KING LOVE overpowered DISORDER in an exciting 1 minute uneven
fight. The King obviously loves order. As do many of us, within reason. Complete
and perfect order, of course, is a different matter. Deadly stuff, if carried to
extremes.
ENDER (65-4971) (38-37-0,175) of BATTLE SCHOOL fought TORYN TYL DAGEDA (74-2777)
(57-52-4,120) of SAND DANCERS. ENDER bested TORYN TYL DAGEDA in an exciting 4 minute
bout. Thereby preserving Ender's winning record, which was in a delicate state, and
further imperiling Toryn's, but after all, she IS a Sand Dancer. She isn't SUPPOSED
to have a winning record.
TAIRIKIA (51-4247) (61-71-0,179) of SAND DANCERS fought ZALMARDARIN (78-312)
(40-79-3,144) of THE DRAGON FIST. TAIRIKIA demolished ZALMARDARIN in an action
packed 2 minute gruesome uneven bout. Ah... this is "Most Challenged Tairikia" here?
Odd how she ended up in a random match, then. But, of course, life is filled with
oddness.
TRAM SATANS BLOOD (65-1106) (62-59-2,183) of SANGUINE SAINTS fought JAMMIES (74-
2829) (57-52-1,161) of DARKLINGS. TRAM SATANS BLOOD was viciously subdued by JAMMIES
in a popular 2 minute bout. Ooo, vicious! Jammies if VICIOUS! This is shocking,
like a vicious teddy bear! Whatever shall we do?
WINSTON (75-2600) (40-18-0,185) of DARK TOADS fought TALON WARSMITH (99-101)
(56-86-8,191) of SCARLET KNIGHTS. WINSTON was savagely defeated by TALON WARSMITH in
a crowd pleasing 2 minute fight. Word has it that Talon, a Dwarf, is rabidly anti-
Toad, because of something unpleasant that happened in a mine shaft once. I've never
been able to dig out the details. Any clues, anybody?
DARKMOON BLACKFELL (75-862) (77-65-3,202) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought SEMIRHAGE
(74-1712) (34-36-2,163) of ROOT OF ALL EVIL. DARKMOON BLACKFELL overpowered
SEMIRHAGE in an exciting 1 minute one-sided match. I haven't checked (sorry) today
to see if these Scarlet Knights have finished their stealthing. If not, I think
everybody should either avoid them or challenge them till they appear in the rankings
again! Of course, it isn't likely that they'd notice either way....
ALIX (74-2701) (28-13-0,207) of CHEYSULI & LIR fought CORT NIGHTJEWEL (78-196)
(48-67-0,199) of THE DRAGON FIST. ALIX devastated CORT NIGHTJEWEL in a 3 minute one-
sided brawl. Amazing, the way women go for jewels, eh? She was all over Cort like a
shark, nipping off here a ruby, there a sapphire, a bit of diamond paving somewhere
else.
KYRLANIA (70-2327) (57-86-1,187) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought NORMANDY (65-4916)
(23-17-3,199) of DOOMSDAY4DOOMCORPS. KYRLANIA was beaten by NORMANDY in a 2 minute
brawl. And Kyrlania isn't even a Doomcorps warrior. It must be doomsday for all
kinds of warriors.
THE QUICKLING (70-1669) (45-110-2,187) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought *LEATHER* (65-
3336) (28-21-3,188) of LITTLE EARTHQUAKES. THE QUICKLING was overpowered by
*LEATHER* in a 1 minute uneven struggle. At least the Quickling usually manages to
lose quickly, so that the fans have time to order out for pizza and beer.
DEADBOLT (70-1664) (70-92-2,190) of SCARLET KNIGHTS fought BAT (74-2742) (66-71-
1,185) of DARKLINGS. DEADBOLT unbelievably bested BAT in a popular 3 minute gruesome
conflict. Ooo-Kay. Does this mean I don't have to believe it? Even though I saw it
with my own (and the recorder's) eyes? And anyway, what's not to believe? Deadbeat,
er, I mean, DeadBOLT was higher ranked, more experienced, all that kind of stuff.
Why not the winner?
ALYAHOODI (11-2219) (53-69-1,182) of HOLY SLAUGHTER fought SMOLDER DARKSUN (78-
513) (62-58-3,168) of THE DRAGON FIST. ALYAHOODI was savagely defeated by SMOLDER
DARKSUN in a 14 minute match. Our longest fight, and you'll note that, though it was
"savage," it is not recorded as "action packed," "exciting," or "crowd-pleasing."
That tells you something right there. Oh, and it wasn't, apparently, mis-matched.
RUSTLING BREEZE (33-6478) (31-29-1,191) of THE WASTING FIELD fought NIGHTFALL
(74-2421) (84-89-2,210) of DARKLINGS. RUSTLING BREEZE was murdered by NIGHTFALL in a
1 minute mismatched competition. Oops! This is a DEATH, at the hands of Nightfall
(Moonrise) or Darklings. A case, so to speak, of night falling on Rustling Breeze.
NIGHTCAP (74-2745) (59-77-0,216) of DARKLINGS fought TREMERE (9-4915) (30-4-
0,195) of DARK TOADS. NIGHTCAP was handily defeated by TREMERE in an exciting 1
minute one-sided bout. Good to see the Toad back on the winning side, though I mean
no particular disrespect to Nightcap in saying that.
And the challenge matches:
VINCENT CRABBE (74-3498) (19-11-2,59) of SLYTHERIN HOUSE challenged MIDNIGHT
FAITH (75-2651) (21-14-1,59) of PARANOID ASYLUM. Straight across. VINCENT CRABBE
slimly lost to MIDNIGHT FAITH in a popular 4 minute Challenge duel. Does this mean
that Vincent lacked faith? Especially, one presumes, in the middle of the night. Or
that he is slim rather than sturdy?
WAIS (65-6447) (15-15-0,56) of DARK TOADS challenged DAMORETH STENN (65-6105)
(33-31-0,83) of SAND DANCERS. Up 17, I think. WAIS was overpowered by DAMORETH
STENN in a 1 minute uneven Challenge melee. Amazing, the way Damoreth is hanging
onto his winning record! The bookies are taking bets as to how long he'll be able to
keep this up. Starting a pool on his fall into loserdom. Enroll now.
TOM RIDDLE (74-3501) (22-7-2,126) of SLYTHERIN HOUSE challenged VALLANT (38-
4151) (32-13-2,133) of BLENDING ENTHRONED. Up 7. TOM RIDDLE was viciously subdued
by VALLANT in a 2 minute Challenge match. And here we thought Tom knew the answers.
Looks like there was one that escaped him.
SHYLOCK (75-2602) (31-28-1,170) of DARK TOADS challenged INIGO MONTOYA (74-1611)
(42-47-4,183) of ROOT OF ALL EVIL. Up 13. SHYLOCK was bested by INIGO MONTOYA in a
popular 1 minute Challenge duel. I have a note here from the Scribe who says that
this loss is NOT due to Shylock being temporarily suspended between dimensions. We
all have our own opinions about that.
TEMPUS (31-538) (33-32-0,165) of THE STORMGUARDS challenged JON SNOW (78-2389)
(22-2-1,173) of DARK TOADS. Up 8. TEMPUS was devastated by JON SNOW in an exciting
2 minute one-sided Challenge fight. Yes, I've heard there's been plenty of Snow on
the ground of late. Not the time (yet) to look for a thaw.
FENGAR II (20-61) (105-78-2,198) of OVERLORDS challenged BRAND (82-13289) (16-
12-1,200) of TOADS OF AMBER III. Up 2. FENGAR II defeated BRAND in a crowd pleasing
1 minute Challenge duel. So tell us, Fengar, is it TRUE that if you rub Brand on the
head, he will emit sparks?
ZALGOR PRIGG (82-15204) (23-11-0,194) of MUTANT LEAGUE II challenged KHORA THE
SMALL (78-519) (103-132-3,229) of SAND DANCERS. Up 35. ZALGOR PRIGG was vanquished
by KHORA THE SMALL in a 1 minute uneven Challenge battle. You think Khora's going to
give up her top basher's slot easily, Zalgor? As if!
AMPLITUR (65-6440) (16-5-1,89) of DARK TOADS TV challenged DARLINA (74-2995)
(27-17-2,95) of SAND DANCERS. Up 6. AMPLITUR devastated DARLINA in a 1 minute
mismatched Challenge fight. And congratulations to Amplitur for having a TV
challenge in the first place and using it.

CHAOTIC WINDS
Once, long ago, the four Winds of Time descended upon Alastari like a TEMPEST of
epic proportions, they slew everything within their all-encompassing reach. They
left nothing. In their wake lay smoldering ruins.
In their haste they sped towards the center of this great land like a colossal
giant would step across an ocean. The four storms picked up momentum on their way
towards each other. A collision was eminent.
The first storm wind, the oldest and wisest of the four was named APEXALUS. The
second, FLAGGSTAFF, was the quickest and loudest entity ever created. The third Wind
of Time was MATRIATIN, neither old or young, quick or slow, but fierce and feisty all
the same. The forth wind, ASSAMITHIUS, the youngest yet most creative in its means
of destruction.
When finally they merged at the center of ALASTARI, an incredible destructive
explosion occurred. And when the smoke and debris cleared they were one. CHAOS was
born.
And Chaos spread across the diminished lands reeking havoc and doom with its
passing, and destroying allover again that which already lay in ruin.

Valentines Day Massacre" in Jhans, arena 36. (Kill Contest) The contest will begin
on turn 450. It will run for 10 turns. On turn 461 the winners will be announced.
There will be 3 separate categories, the team with the most kills, the alliance with
the most kills, and the warrior with the most kills. For the manager of the team
with the most kills a PRIZE of 10 ROLL-UPS will be rewarded (or $50 deposited into
