WARRIOR SPOTLIGHT
To the Bold:
Not discouraged by our recent setback, we prepared a plan to bring the battle to
the Chaos Fiends once more.
Knowing that at some point we would need superior intelligence reports concerning
the Temple, we began preparing to scout the foul construct. Anything we learned would
be of use once the full-force raids began. Our side was the smaller, but at least we
would have superior knowledge concerning the enemy.
Billy, having some experience in stealth-fighting, was selected as mission-
leader. Wisely, he prepared us, acquiring a spy-glass and some potions of blending
from the Keep. Then we were off. Setting up a camoflagued tent on the ridge
overlooking the stench-ridden Temple, we set about mapping the region and counting the
number and quality of patrols it belched forth at regular intervals.
Over the course of a few days, we prepared a thick volume of information to be
brought back to the Keep, but just as we were preparing to depart, an enemy patrol
stumbled across our camp.
Howling, they came on! Shawn, Louis and Jeremy were down before we could react,
and Billy was snatched up by a vile demon.
Teetotaler and I tried to cover their fallen bodies and slew a pair of evil
warriors, then withdrew in orderly fashion while they contemplated their losses!
It was only later that we found Billy, pinned to a tree with a flat-bladed spear.
Yet, despite the losses, we came away with our maps and plans, which we
immediately handed over to Skek.
That, at least, was something to celebrate, and we returned to camp in fine
fettle, at least once the dead were restored to us.
The Companions:

Notice: Okay, lads, we've earned some rest. To that end, I have scheduled a
leave for Cycle 8. You may return to the Keep, if you wish, or scout the jungle on
your own. I'd suggest some rest, because soon we have to move towards infiltrating
the Temple itself!
RAMBLINGS FROM WITHIN THE KEEP
Hail and well met warriors of Gateway!
Are any of the rest of you sword swinging lumps of pitiless (or is that pitiful)
warrior flesh wondering what I'm wondering? Yeah. That's right. Like you, I'm
wondering when the heck Donatello is going to stop wearing women's lingerie? The
subject came up when I was talking to Madam Butterfly last week. She seemed rather
miffed, and when I inquired regarding the problem, all she would tell me is that
Donatello had borrowed something of importance and then never returned it. Spymaster
extraordinaire that I am it was only a few days work to learn the nature of this
missing item. You guessed it. A leather teddy from Victoria's Secrets. Ms.
Butterfly probably wouldn't have been so concerned if it weren't for the fact that
there are no Victoria's Secrets on this gods forsaken planetoid. We're talking
irreplaceable item here! Naturally I purloined the item and returned it to its
rightful owner. And I would like to say here, most publicly, that you Donatello ought
to be ashamed of yourself.
Speaking of shame, I've been hearing a lot of jokes going around lately about how
Sgt. Slaughter lost to Christine. Christine challenged up 30 recognition points to
take the old war veteran out of the action. I hear he's been lying low ever since.
Meanwhile Hangover continues his streak of undefeated Gate challenges. Many of the
servants around the Keep have started to take bets about how long he can go before he
finally meets up with someone really tough in the Gate. Frankly, I'm beginning to
find the endless series of Jaguar Warrior heads spiked up on the castle walls to be a
bit repetitive (not to mention bad smelling)! By the way I notice that INFLATABLE
DOLL is one of the top ten most popular warriors in the Keep right now. While I
realize there is a profound lack of woemen here in Gateway, nevertheless YOU GUYS
OUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!!
Well you know what they say, the common man is only interested in two things.
The violence we give them on the arena sand. The other they'll have to shop elsewhere
for. And on that note, I guess I'll be taking my leave. Until next we meet, please
remember, while my spies may be everywhere my mind is usually nowhere (unless. of
course, it's in the gutter).

Scrag and all other Wardens -- Yes, you boys certainly have the warriors to carry your
king here in Gateway. And that wouldn't bother me in the least if the warrior I was
running each turn had a future, but Thing does not. I wanted to be here for the start
up of this historical arena, and for the first tourney as well. I've done that, and I
am thoroughly disgusted with the way RSI has handled the Gateway/Primus issue. I will
be retiring Thing, and leaving this Primus stop gap measure until I can get Tarad

Scrag -- I am going to bring The Mechanic up when he has won so many Primus tourneys
that they force him up. I ain't gonna run in Primus, but rather use it as a
retirement community. I was only being facecious in my personl, referring to the
managers such as yourself running only one or two warriors. -- The Dealer
Furious -- The Dealer has informed me that after further thought he does not believe
we should be wasting our time fighting each other. The Dark Circle currently holds 3
of the top 8 spots and even though we can't do anything about the cowardly Angels of
Pain, Doc LeGrand's wimps are doing far better than they should be. Let's search out
these other teams and truly test their mettle. Teams 3, 4, and 5 all have easy

win/loss percentages will be compared and the winner chosen. There is no prize, just

LAST WEEK'S FIGHTS
HANGOVER (29-638) (135-61-6,1) of ABOUNDING AGONY II set forth in the steamy
jungle in search of the enemies of Alastari and there encountered a JAGUAR WARRIOR
engaged in the act of shifting from his human form to his cat form. Without waiting,
HANGOVER dove into battle and there butchered the JAGUAR WARRIOR after a two-minute
conflict.
SHAWN THORNTON (29-1359) (75-84-4,59) of PUT UP YOUR DUKES crept through the jungles,
his mission merely to flush out creatures; however, he was set upon by a fearsome
creature he could not see anything of but its EYES OF JADE. Startled, he gave forth
with a war cry and valiantly did battle, but at the end of two bloody minutes, SHAWN
THORNTON was murdered. HIs body was hastily recovered by his fellow Lord Protectors.
OPUS (1-1526) (117-69-2,5) of ZIG ZAG valiantly crossed into the realms of Chaos
in search of the enemy and was not disappointed. He soon encountered a being with
EYES OF JADE, standing with bloodied fangs over the body of a fallen Lord Protector.
OPUS wasted no time and set on the creature, slaying it in two minutes.
QUICKSILVER (14-857) (117-82-3,4) of NOMADS set forth from the Keep and through the
Gateway. He found and followed the dry riverbed and there found a JAGUAR WARRIOR.
QUICKSILVER launched into battle, but the JAGUAR WARRIOR was ready; for three minutes
did the enemies fight, their blood mingling in the damp dirt at their feet. But
when it was over, Lord Protector Quicksilver stood triumphant.
FALSTAFF (37-899) (113-64-2,8) of ZIG ZAG eager to spill blood in return for his own
that had been shed in the foul jungles of Chaos, sought an enemy to battle--he was
rewarded with a JAGUAR WARRIOR, who was preparing a sacrifice on a fell altar. Lord
Protector FALSTAFF waited not a moment, but dove into the conflict, drawing the JAGUAR
WARRIOR's vile blood and emerging victorious after two minutes.
TEETOTALER (38-326) (150-60-4,7) of MISCELLANEOUS II set forth from his camp at
the command of his Captain on a scouting mission. He was given more than he
bargained for as he ran into the treacherous GORGOROTHOR. Remembering how this
shadowy demon had once slain one of his comrades, TEETOTALER showed no mercy--and
much to the dismay of the forces of Chaos, the GORGOTHOR was slaughtered at the end
of two minutes.
TAGAN (6-1226) (113-60-0,6) of GOLDEN HOSTE bravely entered into the Gateway and much
sooner than expected was set upon by a WATER LIZARD; the creature was slick and oily,
moving like the water it seemed to be made of, but TAGAN was not fooled. It took
but a few moments for the Lord Protector to calculate the creature's weaknesses,
and within a minute had butchered the WATER LIZARD.
DELBAETH (6-978) (119-77-1,2) of GOLDEN HOSTE found himself seperated from his fellows
shortly after entering the Gate, but he felt no fear; he moved through the jungle
foliage stalwartly, weapon drawn, eagerly awaiting battle with the enemy. He was not
disappointed, for soon he encountered a JAGUAR WARRIOR. He did not hesitate to enter
into battle, and swiftly slew the JAGUAR WARRIOR in one minute.
VENGEANCE (9-2052) (114-29-7,24) of ANGELS OF PAIN lead his forces deeper into the
jungles in search of the Temple Tino-Tiklan. He believed he was close when he was
surprised by TZENTIANDO, who stood forth from the jungle shadows and raised his weapon
in challenge. VENGEANCE gladly entered into the conflict, his prowess startling
the unprepared TZENTIANDO. At the end of two minutes, VENGEANCE had slaughtered
the creature, and the howls of fury could be heard echoing around them for miles. A
mighty blow, indeed, was struck the minions of Chaos. But before VENGEANCE could
take the head of the creature, a fell light blinded the warriors, and when they could
again see, the body of TZENTIANDO was gone.
SIR LANCELOT (23-1997) (72-45-2,35) of ANCIENT HISTORY seperated from the main phalanx
of warriors in search of the Temple Xuquilatl. Soon night fell and with it came
thick clouds and a blinding rain. The Lord Protector took shelter in a group of
trees but soon had a tremendous feeling of unrest. He heard the crash of thunder,
unlike any he had ever heard on Ghea, and before he could gather his wits about him,
he was laid upon by a creature with TALONS OF THUNDER. SIR LANCELOT bravely attempted
to battle the creature, but was killed in only a minute. His body was found later
by Skek.
REGGIE JACKSON (17-1339) (101-71-1,39) of JACKSON FIVE set forth alone to avenge
his own death at the hands of these creatures; at the edge of the jungle, near the
yellow river, under the harsh suns, he was set upon by a JAGUAR WARRIOR with an
intense bloodlust. REGGIE JACKSON savagely did battle with the JAGUAR WARRIOR for
seven minutes, and in the end claimed the victory, taking the hide of the cat-creature
to the Keep for a a trophy.
BILLY THE KID (13-1386) (94-67-3,43) of EXCELLENT 'VENTURE accepted his Captain's
orders and did not wander far from the group; but there was not a Lord Protector
who would admit to a quall of fear as the multi-colored, feathered creature, the
QUETZIQUATL, came down out of the sky at them. Even the bravest of the Protectors
screamed and broke ranks; it was, however, BILLY THE KID's bad luck to have caught
the eye of the dragon-like creature--the talons of the beast ripped him cleanly in
half before the QUESTZIQUATL rose, roaring triumphantly, into the sky and disappeared
again. It had been in view for only a minute, but had left carnage behind, as well as
uncertainty and fear.
GAMMENON (23-1670) (75-65-3,64) of CELESTIALS paused in his search to drink from his
canteen (not trusting the strange yellow waters of this side of the Gate) when he was
surprised by a being that had EYES OF FIRE. GAMMENON, though surprised, managed to
bring his weapons to bear and fought hard against this being. For nine full minutes
did the conflict last, but in the end, the creature won, and GAMMENON was slaughtered.
His body was recovered shortly thereafter by fellow Lord Protectors. The being was
long gone.
WILLIAM TELL (23-2054) (75-34-3,81) of ANCIENT HISTORY sought the enemy through as
yet uncharted territory in the jungles and was rewarded with the discovery of a
Temple they had, as yet, not seen--but before he could further investigate, he was
set upon by a PHASE LIZARD. Though WILLIAM TELL fought hard for two minutes, in the
end he was slain by the PHASE LIZARD. His body has not yet been recovered, but Skek
is confident.
ATHENA (23-2495) (60-24-1,110) of ANCIENT HISTORY, following in the footsteps of her
teammate, was carefully mapping a strange, large, plains-land that appeared to
stretch beyond the boundaries of the jungle when she was surprised by TKOZIQUE,
fiercely protecting his territory. Startled by the attack, ATHENA was slaughtered
in one minute. Her body has not yet been recovered.
LOUIS (30-1370) (77-76-4,102) of THE DAMNED, after witnessing the attack of the
dreaded dragon-beast, found himself face-to-face with the demon-creature ZITHORIXAN.
Although startled, the Lord Protector was able to battle the fell demon for two
minutes before he was slaughtered by ZITHORIXAN. His body was hastily recovered and
returned to the Keep.
