RAMBLINGS FROM WITHIN THE KEEP
"Yo! Zontani! Get your butt out of bed! I don't care what your head feels
like."
This isn't working. Sharp eyes, my butt. I hate working for this lame-o.
Sheila said to me, "You've gotta go. No one can read Zontani's handwriting, and even
when they can, his spelling sends my scribes into apopleptic fits."
I pled, "Why are you doing this to me?" But she got me with the old duty thing.
"You swore to protect my realms. This is where you are needed."
Let me tell you sad sacks: If I were running things here, things would be a LOT
more ship-shape. You're here to protect the gate! Not posturing in the training
grounds, or fall asleep watching the fights like ol' "Sharp Eyes."
I hear the activity in the jungle is heating up out there and there may be a
major assault attempt soon. I hope you snoozers are ready to do your job.

PERSONAL CORRESPONDENCE
Reason #3 not to fight in the Gate: It spoils the fun of the game. Let's face it,
half the fun of this game is fighting (and beating) warriors that are run by other
real people, not computer run. If all we ever did was fight computer monsters, we
might as well play Doom. The graphics are better. For me, every computer game I have
ever bought got boring quickly simply because I was only playing against the computer.
The appeal of Duelmasters is precisely because I am playing against real people.
That's what FTF tourneys are all about. That's what makes them fun. The only key
held in these gates is the key to boredom. -- Neon Necromancer
Executioner -- I could not have predicted that fight in a hundred years. Well done!
If you want to get back into the top ten, challenge Tagan or Delbaeth. They are easy
targets. *psycho grin* -- Psycho Scientist, Legion8
Furious -- Congratulations on finding a target. -- Neon One
Caesar -- Just out of curiosity, why do you downchallenge my warriors? You don't
learn when you do. You're in no danger of taking Top Team honors. And it makes you
look petty. Do you enjoy looking petty? -- Coeur
6/5/97
To all slow arenas -- A friend and I want to start teams up in a slow arena. We are
not affiliated with any alliances and would like an arena without a large presence of
alliances. If your arena is one of these and could use two more teams who like to
write personals, diplo the Annalist of The Taken in DM 26.
I'm looking for someone to run a few good fighters in the upcoming FTF. I have three
past TVs and two newer fighters. You won't have to do much. They can run as written.

CIMA -- Confederation of Independent Managers Association
This is an update for all CIMA Members. Our combined April & May newsletter has been
completed for weeks. Many of you have not yet received a copy because of mailing
problems.
As our Publisher, I will be sending these things out to you myself. This way I can
ensure that it gets done. I want to apologize to anyone who has yet to receive our
newest newsletter.
Our Next newsletter will come out just after the Tournament results come in. There
will be a tourney section of how the Independents (CIMA) fared. So keep in mind, that
if you plan on attending the Face-to-Face, or have warriors attending, then get in
touch with me after you find out the results so that I can include you in the
newsletter.
For mailing, make sure that you get in touch with me personally. The best way would be
for you to get on the Internet, and join our discussion group. You could then receive
the newsletter from me via e-mail. The second best way to get a copy is via FAX. All I
need is your fax number, or a fax number of a place that will receive it for you. The
faxed newsletters are from 10 to 15 pages long. The worst way is with the post office.
If you want me to send it to you via post, then you'll have to pay for the charges.
The free newsletter ends up costing you: $3.00 (US dollars) for the Post Office, then
just under $2.00 (US Dollars) for the paper and copying, and that's if my California
prices stay the same. So, I'd say that $5.00 (US Dollars) should cover all expenses.
If you plan on taking the third option, then make the money payable to me. Also, send
me your name & address, ( you'll only have to send it once & then I can keep it on
file). There will be NO PROFIT made by this. CIMA is free, and it will stay that way.
I apologize to those of you who are forced to pay for it.
The April & May topics are VERY in-depth on the lunging, parry-riposte, parry-strike,
& parry-lunge styles. If you'd like help with these styles then you'll want to read
this newsletter. The writers of each article cover the board in every area.

ANNOUNCING YET ANOTHER ALLIANCE--THE CRIMSON ALLIANCE
This alliance has one main purpose: making Duelmasters as much fun as possible for its
members. Applications are now being taken to fill positions within the Crimson
Alliance/ Please send all inquiries to The Chosen, DM 25, OR Blackened Pride, DM 5.
Or write to Dave Lemaster, 164 W. South St., Plain City OH, 43064 OR Jim Kelly, 7300
Mills Rd., Ostrander OH, 43061. Soon both a web site and an e-mail address will be
established.
Anyone going to the FTF in Hartford -- I live in MD and am planning on driving. If
you live here and wish to share the ride, I'd be happy. If you're driving from VA, we
could meet and take one car. That goes for Eastern PA, DE, and NJ people too. I have
no problem using my car; it seats four people comfortably, five is a little cramped.
It will save you airfare. If you're interested, call and leave me a message at (410)

LAST WEEK'S FIGHTS

Seeking glory and the protection of the Keep, TEETOTALER sought the elimination of

We are planning to hold three Bloodgames this year. One was held at the Winter
F-t-F, one will be held at the Summer F-t-F, and one will be a Mail-In, starting this
summer. I anticipate one Bloodgames arena at the Winter F-t-F, two one-week and one
two-week Bloodgames Mail-in arenas. No Bloodgames teams may be proxied at the
tournament; only those managers present at the F-t-F may participate in that
Bloodgames arena.
We will only be able to hold the two-week Mail-in Bloodgames if enough of you are
interested. If you would like to be in this two-week Bloodgames arena, please write
"TWO-WEEK ARENA" on top of your Bloodgames rollup.
Bloodgames rollups are available now, for the regular $10 fee. Just drop a note
to Customer Service, and we'll send you one. These rollups are good for all three of
these Bloodgames, so if you can't attend the Winter F-t-F at the last minute, you can
use that team for either the Summer F-t-F or Mail-In Bloodgames. However, you can
only use each rollup once, and you may only have one team in each Bloodgames arena.
See your Bloodgames announcement for more details.
