It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood...
Yeah, right. It's a day, I guess. Nothing like a neighborhood, and I certainly
wouldn't call it "beautiful." Especially not after having to watch your ugly faces
for so long. I sure am looking forward to Sheila sending a new batch of warriors
through that gate. Maybe they won't be puds like you. And I don't think they could be
as ugly.
Well, you probably want to hear about what happened this last fortnight, don't
you?
Jeez. Delbaeth decides to take a little vacation from fighting, allowing
Teetotaler back on the throne. Whatcha do that for? Delbaeth, it's not like you're
that good that you can just stop practicing and live on your glory. Not only is Tee a
serious has-been, I hate having to hear him gloat all the time.
But I can't fault Tee for his bravery. Between him, Vengeance, and Psycho
Scientist, there is one less water dragon, one less air lizard, and one less
invisible. Thank you for protecting the rest of us, guys.
An interesting little factoid for you-who-like-random-statistics: Roman Heroes
is afraid of Briteron By. Why could that be? Doc Steele would be proud to know that
Crystal Dove received the most challenges this round. Even more than Delbaeth (not
that it would have done any good, anyway). Somebody should send him a message. Or
maybe not--I don't want to hear him gloat any more, either.
I'm assuming by your silence that none of you give a gosh darn about our little
tournament. I'm beginning to wonder whether I should even bother. I mean, if nobody
wants to be in it, then why should I bother? Keeping all those records isn't my
strong point (as I'm sure Tee and Vengeance will be quick to point out...). Oh well,
who cares? I'm sure that whoever decides to train and fight in the tournament will be
rewarded with more dueling skills, and that's what counts, isn't it? And you all need
all the help you can get. So fine, don't say anything, we're having a tourney and
that's all there is to it!
Well, gotta go. Skek's been brewing something with the seeds from those weird
purplish plants growing alongside the keep, and I told him I'd try them out. Hey, it
can't be that bad, right?

FAXING IN TURNS
If you fax in your Duelmasters turns, realize that most fax machines have a
border on the right and left side of the paper where no image is transmitted or
printed. When you put your strategy sheet in the fax machine, make sure you allow
extra room on the right side, especially if you are challenging that turn. When the
ID# of the warrior you are challenging is cut off, we are unable to enter the
challenges. There are four possible solutions to this problem:
1) Load the strategies farther to the left, so the Duelmasters dude is cut off,
rather than your challenges,
2) Write the ID# of the warrior you're challenging in the space for the name,
3) Load the strategies long-wise (but then you have to be careful about
overlapping the sheets, which can also cut off the ID#s), or
4) Face the fact that you won't get all of your challenges through.
We'd prefer solutions 1-3, but it's your choice.
Also, please be careful that your fax machine isn't transmitting too darkly or
lightly. If you write your turn in pencil, some fax machines will transmit the
pencil so lightly we can't read it when it gets here. If your fax machine can make
copies, it's a good idea to try making a copy first to make sure it's readable, adjust
the darkness if you need to, and then fax it to us. Be especially wary of the
Advanced Duelmasters Strategy Sheets, because if your fax machine sends the grey
shading too darkly, we won't be able to read those lines at all.
