Vengeance remains Captain of the Gate, ensuring his position by challenging
Leonardo of Ninja Turtles. Leonardo, have you _ever_ beaten Vengeance?
Teetotaler, Donatello, and Ferndok travelled out of the keep to fight beasties of
the wilds this round. Ferndok didn't make it back alive. Teetotaler slew something
called Aikaharr, and Donatello slaughtered another Jaguar Warrior. But yet another Jaguar
Warrior (there are lots of them, aren't there?) got the best of Ferndok. He's okay
now, now that Skek took care of him. Ferndok dropped out of the top ten, but I'm sure
he'll be back in the Top 11 once his toes stop tingling.
Killer Aborigine remains the top ranked team here, still followed by Angels of
Pain and Wolverines/Mad Scientists. A win here, a loss there, but overall unchanged.
Jubs et al remains on the bottom of the listings. Maybe not for long, though--
Complete Check beat J (of Doctors of Duel), rising 19. Well done, Complete Check!
Sgt Slaughter fought Seeker Pale Silk and killed him. I wonder what that was all
about?
In the top ten, there was a little shifting around but no major movement (with
the exception of Ferndok dropping out and everyone else moving up). Rage challenged
and beat Reggie Jackson, trading ranks with him. The same thing happened with Maimed
and Executioner, as those two continued their debate over who's truly the best
warrior. (Executioner won this one.)
Engines of Doom was the most challenged team. Juanita was the most challenged
warrior, with Roman Heroes leading the challenges. Darius challenged Juanita, the
warrior ranked one below him, and bested her in a fair fight. Or at least that's what
he says. Tarad challenged down the farthest, down 27 ranks to Mr. Lose.
Unsurprisingly, Mr. Lose lived up to his name.

Oscar -- Hey! I noticed all of the warriors that come out of the Gate get ranked on
top by how many wins they have... THAT SUCKS!! I mean, that means that I can never be
ranked higher than any of those other bozos that have more wins than me, even tho I
could whoop all of their asses!! What kinda stuff is this, Oscar? We gotta get this
changed. It totally sucks that Reggie, Teetotaler, and Donnie all passed me in the
rankings. The Gate sucks! Warriors should have to fight for their rank!! The only
reason I _secondary_ challenged the Gate (I primary challenged Vengeance) because I
was attempting to hold on to the 3rd spot. Now that I know that all somebody has to
do to pass me is to kill a gate monster, why should I even bother trying to keep my

FACE-TO-FACE XXIII
Our summer Face-to-Face will be held on 23-25 July 1999, Friday through Sunday,
at the Minneapolis Airport Marriott Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota (2020 E 79th St.).
Room rates are $78.00 per night, 1-4 occupancy. The rooms are blocked, so you can
call to reserve your room (tell them you're with the Reality Simulations convention).
Their phone number is 800-228-9290. Our room block will be released on 1 July, so
reserve your room now.
There is a free shuttle to and from the airport and the Mall of America (the
hotel overlooks the Mall of America) as well as free parking. There is an exercise
room with free weights, domed pool and whirlpool as well as a sports bar and
restaurant in the hotel. Look for transportation info in the tournament information
sheet.
The tournament information sheet/strategy sheet should be out sometime in late
June.

Our next Face-to-Face will be held on 29-31 January 1999, Friday through Sunday,
at the Radisson Hotel in Phoenix, Arizona (3333 East University Drive, Phoenix). Room
rates are $109.00 per night, 1-4 occupancy. The rooms are blocked, so you can call to
reserve your room (tell them you're with the Reality Simulations convention). Their
phone number is 800-333-3333. Our room block will be released in early January, so
reserve your room now.
There is a free shuttle to the airport, as well as free parking. The hotel is
located in the airport area. There is a fitness center, sauna, whirlpool, and heated
pool (we're working on finding a nearby indoor volleyball court for Sandy) as well as
a bar and restaurant inside the hotel. Look for transportation info in the tournament
information sheet.

November/early December.

GRAMMER MADE EASY IN TWENTY-THREE STEPS

HOW TO RITE RITE
1. Don't abbrev.
2. Check to see if you any words out.
3. Be carefully to use adjectives and adverbs correct.
4. About sentence fragments.
5. When dangling, don't use participles.
6. Don't use no double negatives.
7. Each pronoun agrees with their antecedent.
8. Just between you and I, case is important.
9. Join clauses good, like a conjunction should.
10. Don't use commas, that aren't necessary.
11. Its important to use apostrophe's right.
12. It's better not to unnecessarily split an infinitive.
13. Never leave a transitive verb just lay there without an object.
14. Only Proper Nouns should be capitalized. also a sentence should begin with a
capital and end with a period
15. Use hyphens in compound-words, not just in any two-word phrase.
16. In letters compositions reports and things like that we use commas to keep a
string of items apart.
17. Watch out for irregular verbs which have creeped into our language.
18. Verbs has to agree with their subjects.
19. Avoid unnecessary redundancy.
20. A writer mustn't shift your point of view.
21. Don't write a run-on sentence you've got to punctuate it.
22. A preposition isn't a good thing to end a sentence with.
23. Avoid cliches like the plague.
