On July 6th, a subset of the club members went to a Oregon Rocketry Club Fly-Day. In the field, there were around 40 people, grouped around a launch setup and two tents. One of our club members had never seen a model rocket launch, while some of the others had even brought their own rockets to fly.

While there, we witnessed a variety of interesting rocket designs, including a very small rocket called the "Mosquito."
Other interesting designs included a rocket with small glider that fell off in flight to come gliding down, one that carried a small plastic army man with it's own parachute that was released at the top of it's flight, a rocket that spun as it flew, and a rocket propelled badminton birdie.

While we watched the other people launch their rockets, we started discussing the types of engine, and what the numbers and letters of the engine codes stood for.
