Spiders groom themselves (and their webs?) sort of like cats, but without the licking. Instead, they run the tip of one leg all along the length of the others, apparently to scrape any dirt and debris off, and then cleaning the tip of it's leg with it's pedipalps. We learned this after observing a spider groom itself on the other side of a window.
