There aren't many rules and we'll try to keep them short. If you new to wiki editing, see the wiki instructions.

  • Write in the "we" voice (1st person plural); no proper names or genders in the naratives. Since some of the members at small are under 13 this is actually a law.
  • Describe in detail, but don't brag or blame. A little good natured kidding is ok though.
  • Titles of pages should be in mostly lowercase (except for names and acronyms) like they would be in the middle of a sentence. They'll now be automatically capitalized when they show up as titles.
  • Don't randomly rename things The titles of pages are used to link pages and if you change the title of a page (even just the capitalization) make sure you find all the places it's used and change them too.
  • When you name a page use all lower case except for proper names and acronyms (so as if it were in the middle of a sentence.). That makes it easy to add links to it later. When the title is displayed as a title it will automatically capitalize it.
  • No walls of text. Break up your paragraphs, and if pages get too long break them up too (see rock candy fuel for a good example).
  • Tag pages so the system can find them. Most pages should either be tagged:
    • if they are about the club or the wiki use meta
    • If they're about something we did, are doing, or might do.
      • with one or more subjects ( physics , biology , rockets , etc.)
      • a single scope scale ( test , project , etc.)
      • Either completed (if we're done) or contemplated (if we haven't even started).
    • if they're about our stuff use materials (stuff that gets used up) or equipment (stuff that doesn't)
    • Also tag safety rules
  • Put <<footer>> at the bottom of most pages. It adds links to stuff.
  • Use <<text-needed>>, <<picture-needed>>, <<clarification-needed>> where needed.
