Larkin here once again, with more interviews from the tourney. This time I'm
talking to a new manager, so new he doesn't even have a manager name. "Sir... what
would you like me to call you, by the way?"
"Why do you have to call me anything? I don't understand why you want to
interview me. There are lots of great managers here who could probably tell you
stuff--"
"I'm looking for a new perspective, the point of view of someone who is just
starting out with the gladiatorial games."
"Oh. Well, I guess that would be me."
"Absolutely right! Tell me, what do you think of the tourney? This is your
first, right?"
"Right, my first," the young man agreed. "And it's GREAT! Everyone is just
great here! I mean, most of these managers, they're, like, legends, you know?
Everybody's heard of them, and they have stables of HUNDREDS of gladiators, and
they've been polishing their tricks for YEARS, and I didn't figure I had much of a
chance, you know?"
"The popular view is that no matter how much you know, the arena can always
throw a surprise at you--"
"Yeah, yeah, I've heard that. I don't know if I believe it, but I've heard it.
But that isn't the best thing about this tourney. The best thing is that everyone
here has been GREAT. Or else I didn't meet them--the ones that might not have been.
But I think I met just about everyone, and--"
"And they were great. I'm glad. But perhaps you could tell our readers a
little more, maybe tell them how these experienced managers were great to you?"
"Well, yeah, okay. It's that everyone was so friendly and helpful, see? The
ENTIRE Consortium talked to me about warrior design, for instance. I learned a lot
there. And, well, there was Mannequin, and The Greek Guy, and I actually met
Manager, too! And they were all really helpful. Advice, you know, and charts, and
all that stuff that was so confusing. It was just the best experience! I'm going to
do it again, for sure!"

Notes from the arena champ.
You'd think that after five of these wonderful Duelmaster Titles, one would get
tired of it all. But that is not the case at all. Each one makes me feel younger
and more alive and on top of the world! It does. And at the rate The Commission and
my opponents are handing out skills to me, I may be in for quite a long ride and a
long list of these titles. I may just like that.
My teammate, Hoops, does not like me hogging (his words) the throne. He says he
had to earn his political points, all fourteen of them, the hard way. He feels he
would already be a Lord Protector if I hadn't created the road block for the five
point top spot. Maybe he would, but I have high hope that he will graduate in two
more rounds, but I will still be sitting here in Snowbound when he does. Perhaps
that is just?
But, nevertheless, here I am, Duelmistress of Snowbound. I await your
challenges. catch me if you can.

I can't believe the violence in SNOWBOUND! I still haven't told Mom I'm writing
Spyreports. She'd have a cow! Well, here we go... Uncool, CRIMINAL MINDS. I mean
0-5-0 is bad. Will they will be allowed to fight? I say use 'em for training
practice! MVP award for 10? IRON CURTAIN's proud of him after beating GOBERT HINNY
and getting 17 points. Talk about yer major upsets! DURANGO KID's match with
KLYMENESTRA cost him a loss of 13 points! Like MIDDLE WAY 6's KIRLA LORVIN is
sweating since she got challenged by Duelmaster MRS. VAUGHN! Don't you think the
Duelmaster is being unfair? I think MRS. VAUGHN should let KIRLA LORVIN be
Duelmaster for a while, without fighting about it. Is the Duelmaster really being a
real snob to his teammates? Don't ask me!
AAARRGH!!! I HATE SPYREPORTING!!! Sorry. I just had to say it. IRON CURTAIN
was SNOWBOUND's most avoided team. Is there some award for that? Is there some deep
dark secret why LIFE IMPACTS' been avoiding IRON CURTAIN so much? Or is it just that
they're too scared? Like, is FORTISSIMO popular, or what? She was challenged the
most in all of SNOWBOUND! She's got a 2-2-1, is that good?
Challenges, revenges, Bloodfeuds. All SNOWBOUND ever talks about is fighting!
Me, I'm more laid back. TRASH really fought hard against TED BUNDY. That'll teach
CRIMINAL MINDS not to go and kill any of THE HEAP's guys again, huh! Hey you guys,
don't you think your families would like to hear from you? Write! (Or have someone
write for you.)
I really didn't, you know, study when I was a kid. Who would've guessed I'd be
