SPY REPORT
Greetings, warriors of DELARQ TOR! Once again I've been called out of
retirement for my abilities and insights into Spyreporting. What's with SIR ETHAN?
He actually beat KITCHEN STUFF's ROLLING PIN, and walked away with 22 more points
from the fight. Major screwup at GENTLEMEN'S CLUB. LORD JAEDIN lost 7 points to
MADAME X. Some new strategies, perhaps? Maybe LORD JAEDIN will provide more easy
wins... Try as he might, KUNG-FU MASTER wasn't good enough at persuading KNIFE RACK
to step down from the Duelmaster's throne... Wouldn't it be nice to have live
subjects to practice on? I hear some team is looking into the uses of convicted
prisoners.
Speaking of cowardly avoiders and unfair challenges... DELARQ TOR thinks BAD
HAND and their 2-5-0 is too much! If at first you don't succeed, give up... In my
day, no team with a 2-4-0 would scare me off! What's the problem, GENTLEMEN'S CLUB?
What do people see in MAST OF FUTILITY? His 6-4-0? CIRQUE DU MASQUES ain't talkin',
but he's got 38 points. I hate going to the effort of writing about the kind of
fights that SQUIRE gets in. He fights people like DUCKMASTER, 11 points below. I
thought SQUIRE showed great skill and promise when he won victory over DUCKMASTER.
All right, so I slept through it! Big deal!
Warriors of DELARQ TOR unite. You have only your games to lose! Is it my
imagination, or are fighters getting younger every day? To die so young, so
gloriously!
Well, I'm pretty much through. You guys need to get back practicing. All work
and no play makes Olaf a dull fighter. Work and play no fighter dull Olaf.
Olaffighterwork and no play. I don't want to overstay my welcome...-- Olaf Modeen

PERSONAL ADS
All -- Well, so long, Delarq Tor. I decided to leave my group here for the final
turn. This was my second arena, starting way back on turn three. All four of my ADM
warriors are also from this stable, so I'm sad to see it end this way. Still, it was
nice to pull the win/loss to above 50%, something that isn't easy to do when you
mostly run 15 wit losers. Here's wishing you all a fond farewell. -- Thorn, mgr.
Gentlemen's Club
Madame X -- I wish my teammate had warned me about your desperation strategy. -- Earl
Edmund
Duckmaster -- I'm no duck. -- Squire
Assur -- Perhaps I'll see you in Talcama, though I could easily DA 4 of my 5 guys. --
Thorn
Earl Edmund -- Consider it something to remember me by, short and handsome. -- Madame
X
Trump -- Yep, a really bad hand you got there. -- Lone Ranger
Squire -- Don't tell me, I can already see it: you're a duck-hunter as a
"recreation," aren't you? Typical mammal. -- Duckmaster

Managers of the Aimed Blow style -- I will be hosting the LIRIN KIV AIMED BLOW
CHALLENGE 2002 in glorious Lirin Kiv (if there is any interest.) This challenge will
begin on turn #196 and will run for 10 turns. On turns 196-200, entered AB's MAY use
weapons. On turns 200-205 entered AB's MAY NOT use weapons. Check the Lirin Kiv
(ADM 107) newsletter for the point system and other information. Warriors entering
the challenge must be declared in the personal ads. Think about reactivating and
migrating your AB's to Lirin Kiv. Let the challenge begin! -- The Icelord
12 April 2002
Fellow Andorian managers, we are saddened to see twenty arenas closing, ten of them
Andorian. We understand RSI's problem, we understand the problem of players who are
spread as far as they reasonably can spread themselves, we understand the grief at
seeing some favored arena closing down. A concerted effort might save one or two of
the arenas on the list from closing, but we cannot save them all. If we try, we will
lose them all. Let us pick some one or two arenas to concentrate our efforts on. I
respectfully submit Ardivent, DM 46, as an arena worthy of our best efforts. Though
it has been small for some time, it has never been so small that it missed turns, as
some on the list have done, and it has never lacked for involved managers. There
just haven't been quite enough of them. Rather than dispersing and wasting our
efforts trying to save half a dozen of the Andorian arenas on the list, I suggest we
concentrate on this one. -- Master Cho, Bluvalley Warriors, Ardivent DM 46
20 April 2002
All mgrs. -- So your arena is closing. I invite you to move to Lyratilan, Arena 25.
There is room for good teams to join our ranks. If you have chuptza and moxy, then
we want you. -- Laldakarin, mgr. of The Grym Ones, owner/operator of the Mourngrym
Inn and Tavern

*--*--*--*--*--*--*--*--* NEWS BULLETIN -- Second Edition *--*--*--*--*--*--*--*--*
In the interests of better dueling for all, those arenas which are and have been
for some time quite small are being closed. The regular-speed (two-week) arenas will
close at the end of April, the slow (four-week) arenas at the end of May. The arenas
which will be closed are:
DM 13 Dullens DM 46 Ardivent DM 63 Amen-Tei
DM 20 Seam DM 48 Caer DM 64 Kurukar
DM 23 Ti DM 49 Vithicar DM 66 Tarrgir
DM 27 Point DM 53 Khalhums DM 67 Barikala
DM 34 Monuntial DM 55 Khalani DM 76 Simtakka
DM 37 Sibikhas DM 57 Andor DM 79 Miroi Chang
DM 44 Krill DM 58 Delarq Tor
In order to participate in regular arena dueling, managers in these closed arenas
may choose to move their team to any other arena. It is not necessary to move a team
for its warriors to compete in tourneys; inactive teams will remain in these closed
arenas until/unless they move (similar to the arenas of Firehold, Cimmeriac, or
Sentern, DM 68-70). Teams from closed arenas may transfer to any arena, even an arena
where their manager already has an active team; in such a case, both teams will be
allowed to fight. As in the past, warriors already graduated to ADM will retain their
old identification numbers from their original arena, but their transferred teammates
in the new arena will receive new identification numbers for their new arena. Moved
teams and warriors will retain all their training, records, and other attributes when
they move, and may begin fighting in their new arena immediately.
There are two exceptions to the above team transfer rule, however. Managers
may not transfer teams to DM 93 (Noblish Island). Also, in DM 33 (Niytyole Island), a
manager may not have more than one team in the arena; a manager could transfer a team
into this arena from a closed arena, but would have to transfer the old one out first.
We realize that most managers have strong loyalty to their home arenas and would
like their arenas to remain open. If managers and arenas work together to collect
fifteen active teams in one of these arenas, that arena will remain open. Similarly,
if there is enough interest, we could reopen any of these arenas at a later date. If
this happens, any teams which transferred out will be allowed to return.
These measures are being taken in the interests of better dueling for all, the
reasoning being that arenas with only a small number of teams are simply not as fun as
larger arenas with more managers interacting. This move also gives us the flexibility
to reopen arenas or open new arenas at some time in the future, if there is interest.
Requests for team transfer may be directed to Customer Service at any time.
-- RSI
