Egg Palm: a type of palm peculiar to the Kiniar area, grown under light irrigation. It produces an oily, nut-like fruit about the size of a lemon in clusters of ten to twenty, mature trees producing several clusters every year. The fruit, which has a leathery brownish skin and yellow flesh. is high in protein as well as in oil.

Eleven Warlords: a group of warlords and petty kings who united to form the first Adantri kingdom, the Sun Kingdom, in the southern An-Kiu Valley; it is believed that there were actually several more than eleven, but that these were the major members of the alliance. The Warlord of Kerang was one of the Eleven Warlords, and his castle overlooking the present Chan Hisar in Chan-Kerang Province was the site of the meeting at which the alliance was formed.

Emperor's Own Advisors: a group of men and women selected by the Emperor, independently of any rank, caste, or profession they may or may not have, to advise him. In theory, they are chosen for wisdom, but in practice there is no set basis for any given Emperor to make his choice.

Enkidricha Mountains: an eroded limestone highland in the southern part of Dakorin Province. The mountains are riddled with caves and fairly dry, as the abundant rains run quickly into the caverns and cracks, leaving the thin, infertile soil to support a dryland growth of cactus-like trees.
