DesganoDesgano claims it is an Imperial city, and who will argue? It lies on the coast of the Southern Sea at the end of the Han Torra Khang; its splendid harbor is backed by mountains. Desgano lies between the Coast Road, crossing the tail of the mountains by way of Sim Zilgan Pass, and the coast itself, and the road that connects the city with the highway is a track barely passable to wagons. Little is known about Desgano in the rest of the Empire, but the city is believed to be an old one. The scholars say that Desgano was once the seat of a Warlord, in the days of the early Empire, and there is a castle on one of the cliffs above the harbor city. It is also suggested that at various times Desgano has been a stronghold of pirates, and it is a location well-suited to that activity; sailors operating out of Lingli Ahlin have been known to suggest that pirates may still be found among the shipmasters of this isolated city. Desgano is the seat of Lord Governor Tierlo ten Kadar and Subgovernor Magistrate Ganasao ten Thabar, both local men (which is unusual).
