Meat is more common on the tables of Jade Mountain than in some other parts of the Empire; venison and other game are the local specialties. A kesho of noodles with a sauce of highly seasoned meat is a common dish; the seasoning herbs tend toward resinous flavors.

Most local wine goes to make brandy, generally called black, dark, medium, light, or white Jade Brandy, depending on sweetness (lighter is sweeter) and variety and strength of herbs/spices (darker is stronger). Jade Brandy is known all over the Empire.
