Shirah Ni is the eastern gate of the Sin Shirah Pass over the Han Torra range, the route by which the Silk Road crosses the mountains to reach Korvan Saleh. The eastern face of the range is very steep--the Silk Road climbs by the Stair of Shira, a route so steep that most pack animals cannot manage it and no wagon traffic is possible. The business of Shirah Ni is supplying porters and the sure-footed "mountain camels" that make the taxing climb and the easier descent on the far side.

Shirah Ni, like Korvan Saleh, is largely a Sendori city. The blank-faced buildings bear little outward adornment, although those privileged to enter claim that the interiors are as colorful and comfortable as anyone could wish.

The Lord Governor is Shallaran ten Mang, and the Subgovernor Magistrate is Daryan ten Wing.
